Helpful video; thanks for posting. Your rationale for the cracking is solid, and the fix is making sure there is always some water cooling the manifolds. At the end of the video that cat had melted from excessive heat. Likely related to the basic issue. If an engine is starved of water for any reason ( clogged raw water strainer, worn impeller, debre clogging the transmission cooler, thermostat, water pump, etc) it won't cool appropriately. So, always a good idea to fake a lake in driveway and be sure there is good water flow from exhaust and engine temp gauge is not higher than 160 degrees on most boats.
Thanks for posting this video! I have the same engine and was getting water in the spark plugs. Come to find out it was this same problem, same side. I was chasing my tail trying to figure it out and you pointed me in the right direction.
I just had this happen to both manifolds. The inside water jacket cracked and broke a hole thru. Water poured into cylinders, hydro locking them up and giving me " Chocolate milk" oil. Flushing oil now, and hoping the block didn't get cracked. 2007 Supra Launch 20SSV
it was a 2008 but I think this issue ran all the way up in to 2012 or 13. If your exhaust looks like this, it's probably the same deal. They have an update to with the cooling lines.

After you fix, get the cooling upgrade
Yup, make sure you get the rerouting kit.

Buddy you just save me alots of money !!! I have the same problem right now ... thank man !🙏
Make sure you update the new routing water lines.
Where did you get your new manifolds
Is there an easy way to go to closed cooling instead?
I don’t see how without installing a radiator.
i am looking for a better description of installing the kit. anyone able to help ?
Go to Bakes marine. They sell the kit. it has instructions.
Thanks for the video! I got the parts. Anybody knows where to get the instructions?
What year is your engine? Is this a fix they are now putting on all the new engines?

@@btuff Thank you sir!
4 years later....manifolds $1700 (thanks joe biden!)
Where can you find these manifolds in stock?
