Splash was a magical experience for me. In '89 when I had just finished my freshman year in high school, our family went during the opening and that was magical. Thanks to my outgoing sister, I met a girl I fell in love with and rode in the cozy back seat with that girl. That memory was so amazing for me since that sister passed away a few years later and that ended up being my last time at Disneyland with her.
For us, old timers that were there the day Disney opened and to see the 1st time Splash Mountain opened up in Critter Country. And then Country Bear Jamboree disappeared and Critter Country was never the same and now it's forever gone. I'll miss both those rides. Your documentary was very well done.
Disney fans feel like family and a huge hug. No matter how big or small a change is, no matter if Theme Park enthusiast or Disney fan, we all celebrate and embrace what was given to us. Goodnight Splash Mountain, from one theme park enthusiast and Disney fan to another, may we embrace the memories it gave all of us. 🌊❤
It was great to see the "Citizens of Disneyland" have a great day to say good bye to Splash and get ready for a new Adventure. Also a BIG shout to all the CM's that kept Splash moving all day. I am very excited for what is next.
Beautiful storytelling. Thanks for sharing this amazing day with us all. This one is a keeper. Here is to all the the Citizens of Disneyland. #club1313
Great documentary! It was also great meeting you at the park that day with my girlfriend. You are a super cool down to earth guy. I vote you as the leader for us Disney adults 🙏😁
When you said it was time to say goodbye , I was thinking ya , ya this is goodbye. Love your little documentary and definitely hit me hard and just about got me to cry. I only road splash mountain twice in my life. First was after I graduated from high school and the second was with my wife for my 28th birthday just this past September in 2022. But iam glad I went on those too time vs not a all.
Dude, love your style of videos. Although I wasn’t a fan of getting wet often it was a unique and classic Disney ride that will be missed. I’ve never know Disneyland without Splash
Thanks so much Brickey! Fitting sendoff. As one who still misses much older attractions to this day (heya ❤️ you Adventure thru Inner Space) it meant a lot.
Awwe Brickey...as I watch/listen to this video on my headset at work I am tearing up remembering the trips that my husband and I took with our two kids from British Columbia, Canada, to Anaheim to go to Disneyland and the sheer joy we all experienced riding Splash Mountain together! My kids are now 22 & 25 and here I sit at my desk with tears rolling down my cheeks knowing that that time is forever gone...thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing...Peace & love from British Columbia, Canada...
Brickey your story telling is second to none! What an awesome way to document the end of a era. This definitely is one that needs to go into the archives!
As always Brickey, tugging on my heartstrings! (Teary eyed watching your tribute), Not only saying goodbye to Splash, but those beloved characters from ‘America Sings’! That attraction meant so much to me growing up. So, saying goodbye to two beloved attractions for me is definitely sad, but thank you for honoring them in the most perfect way. ♥️ you killed it!!!!!
Clearly shot, edited, and narrated by a lover of Disneyland and all the treasures she holds. Thanks for an amazing send off Brickey. I’m on another continent and yet feel like I was there. Thank you for caring and shining the right kind of light on this SoCal jewel.
Splash Mountain will forever be my favorite ride at the park. Thank you for documenting this moment. I really wish I was there to experience it's last moments. A piece of my childhood, will now and always be a memory. Goodbye old friend.
Thank you for this Brickey! Got me to tear up a few times with your mix of words and visuals. It was so much fun being there and saying goodbye to our old friend. Nice shouting out at you too, I didn't get a chance to stop and really talk, mostly cause every opportunity you appeared to be in the middle of another meaniful conversation. As a citizen of Disneyland, I know I'll have plenty of other opportunities to share our Disney stories together. ❤
It was a night i won't soon forget. Arriving later than expected, my first ride had me entering the queue at 3:30pm. Though a single rider, i had to pay respects to the entire ride. My second and final trip found me riding it, during the fireworks show, via LL that i decided to use after hearing that an early closure of the lines was eminent. As magical as it looked from the ground, seeing the pyrotechnic bursts from the ride was priceless. Finally, after spending the remainder of the night on the secret path, and then the bridge, seeing the house lights kick on after the final drops...well it was inspiring being a part of the Disneyland community as we bid farewell to a venerable ride...and walking through a ghost town of a park that will always have an abundance of magic. Great video.
You have shown the heart of this. Out of all the Disney RUclipsrs this week, YOU, Brickey have brought Disney magic to me as I lay here getting ready for bed, watching prolly the last video I’ll watch on Splash Mountains last day. Bravo sir, thank you for pulling at every heart string I needed pulled and helping me truly remember the joy I had riding splash for the last time in October of 2021. 👏🏽 👏🏽 You truly are an artist. Thank you for all your content. ❤ Thank you for being you. 😊
I sure hope that someone else has also shared that your videos are a total vibe! In same way you describe saving certain videos for certain moments. For me, these are my first stop, before my brain and heart are pulled elsewhere. They remind me that there is always more to design than I can possibly recognize a quick gaze. So much intention, thought and time to both design in general ans in your videos. Keep up the great work!🎉
I remember seeing Disney shows back in '88 & early '89 where they talked about a new upcoming log flume ride. I was pretty excited about it. I finally got to ride Splash mountain in September of '89 & it did not disappoint. The way the cue line was designed & all the things you were able to see from it stirred up your imagination. Once I got onto the "log" with my siblings & cousins, we knew that we were in for a thrilling ride. It was hands down the best ride of 1989 for us. I basically rode Splash Mountain every single time I went to Disneyland all the way up to January 2023. I wasn't there for the last day, but I got a chance to ride it once last time in late January of 2023. I'll probably have to head out to Tokyo the next time I want to ride it. It brings me a lot of nostalgia thinking about it.
I've watched a lot of videos on the last night and by far the video you put out I feel is the best one. You covered everything with class and dignity. Thank you brickey for being one of the good citizens of Disneyland
Thanks for such a heartfelt goodbye. I got all teary eyed. It was a pleasure meeting you there. You got another subscriber! (I watch a lot of your videos, I thought I was subscribed!) Thumbs up and subscribe!!!
I didnt ride Splash much, but this video really shows the community and sense of home Disney has created for many. Thank you for making these videos Brickey.
I’m not sad that Splash Mountain is changing. Change is good. I’m sad at an era closing. It opened when I was 3 and I don’t know Disneyland without it. It’s my childhood. I’m excited and optimistic at what Disney will do with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. I just don’t think it’s the best spot for it because of aesthetic reasons, but Disney has a plan and a vision and I trust they will not let us down!!! Goodbye Splash Mountain. I will always cherish the fun family and friend’s memories of this ride (yes this way more over others) but I’m excited to make new memories with my daughter on Tiana’s! ❤
It’s the music matched to your narration again Brickey. Magic. My oldest was born in 1989 and I have been going to disneyland since I was 5…so I am tied to this place no matter which way I look at it. (I’m 60) I did have tears falling down my cheeks as I listened to you here. Well done. What a sweep of emotions! Now, off to watch Justin’s 1 hour tribute.
Thanks for helping me whittle away about 7 hours of standing around starting at a mountain. It was a pleasure to meet you, buddy! Beautiful video as always!
This is Mark (from the beginning of the video). It was great meeting you! What an awesome video! Thanks so much for documenting this special day. I subscribed and gave you a thumbs up! I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. Keep up the great work!
Hello. I am a BIG fan of your work. Thanks so much for all the Documentation you have done at Disneyland. I just rewatched your "The Construction of STAR WARS: GALAXY'S EDGE" I got chills all over again. So glad you found Brickey he is a "Citizen of Disneyland" like you. Thanks again for all your hard work 🤘
Making the construction videos was a lot of fun. I'm glad you enjoyed them! I watched more of your videos last night. You do such a great job! I especially liked the video entitled 'Toontown's secret trick'. Your attention to detail is outstanding. I'm looking forward to your next video. Hopefully, I'll see you around the parks. Keep up the great work!
@@J_Pike I'm glad you enjoyed the construction videos. It was a fun father/daughter time together, especially during the editing. Thanks for watching!!
This is absolutely gorgeous. I haven’t watched another video of the last splash at DL and there is no reason to. The way you honor the Citizens of Disneyland, the community and CMs is uniquely special. The way you described the fireworks…the “kiss goodnight “ - ALL the feels. Thank you, Brickey. ❤
Brilliant Brickey documentary. Loved this video... You have a wonderful way of sharing our commonalities instead of our divisions. Just amazed by your passion, your poetry, and HEART. Bravo, sir.
Brickey, this was a great video. I will always miss Splash Mountain as I have childhood memories of riding it with my family, and my mother always loved zipadee do dah. I know many new generations will enjoy Tiana. I just had an emotional connection to this. It is because it reminds me of my family being brought together. People cried on it’s last day because it was so beloved, and it will always be remembered as one of the greatest Disney attractions of all time.
LOVED this video! Made me get a little teary-eyed! And you captured my daughter & I walking out after it was all over. 😊 We also very much enjoyed meeting you & talking to you that morning by Rivers of America. What a bittersweet day that was & I'm so glad to have been able to be there! 😊

Hi Brickey! It was a great pleasure meeting and discussing shop with you as we waited for the final countdown in front of Splash Tuesday evening. Thank you for the time and effort you put forth in creating these videos!
Dang Brickey, your video is the only one that actually made me emotional for Splash Mountain. I never rode it and now I regret it but I am looking forward to Tiana’s ride
Just wanted to say some of your videos. Take me such an emotional journey. This video was one of them. I have never been to any of the Disney parks. I am hoping to visit Disney land in Japan next year.

No one can deliver a narrative like you can. Your story telling abilities can evoke every emotion from tears of joy to wonderment and aw.
