Resort guests and park goers get so busy. Frantically trying to get on every ride and eat every food that they miss all of these beautiful details. These types of videos are like slowing down time for all of us to take in all that the two properties have to offer. Thanks so much Brickey! 😊
My favorite "fake building" at the Disneyland Resort is a facade facing Main Street on the side of the Star Tours show building. Because the big, boxy building is so tall, it can be seen from a few places on Main Street and the Hub in front of the castle. So they decorated the top half of the building with fake windows, gutters, and paint to make it look like another street in the distance.
Brickey you treat the park like the living museum it is. Everything you showed in this video is the magic that makes Disneyland so special. Part of why most don’t see it is because it is doing what Walt and the Imagineers intended, immersing us in a world that allows us to forget what is beyond the gates and instead take us to a place and time full of joy, smiles and FUN. Keep up the great content and keep doing you!
From a design perspective I really love how you dove deep into the facades and fake doors. It makes me so happy you covered such a small detail like San Francisco street, this is seriously what I come here for. Thanks for all the hard work !
Great deep dive ! I always walk past those row houses on San Francisco st. too fast. I’m going to have to take a closer look. Thanks for another fun video.
These designer deep dives are absolutely amazing. I’ve been watching theme park vloggers for years, but I feel like I have finally found the guy I relate to the most. Finally, love and appreciation for the parks from an artists point of view. Great stuff Brickey.
Bricky this was AWESOME!! I never knew there was a break you could walk through in Fairfax market. And I love the energy you bring and the knowledge about the architecture and the accompanying storytelling. 👍
I worked at DL long time ago and ..FYI the buildings on Main St DL has REAL offices upstairs for DL staff and Management. The same is true for the buildings in Adventureland..Fronteirland...NOS they are all under the buldings since you are actually walking on the second and in some areas third floor of a large mostluy undergound building. I can only assume that it is the same for DCA and Buena Vista St...
Another great video! San Francisco street is so over looked!! Kinda freaked me realizing you had a lower half of a body and another hand!! Took me a second to realize it was you in the street in radiator Springs! 😂 Thanks for also keeping me on my toes!!
You should consider exploring more of the historic architecture of Hollywood & downtown LA, especially the theaters along Broadway st. I know you’ll really appreciate the details. There are historical tours that offer so much information about the buildings & their significance. You can even find the original buildings that inspired Imagineers to recreate them at DCA & WDW’s Hollywood Studios. You probably know this, but the Hyperion theater exterior at DCA is modeled after the Los Angeles theater in downtown LA. The actual theater is stunning inside & is only open once a year for an event next month called Last Remaining Seats.
Your video are how I wish I could rip the parks, unfortunately it's only a once a year at best kinda thing that I get to take my family on so it's tough to "stop and smell the roses" thanks for continuing to put out content like this. I get to live vicariously though you :)
Love love love this video! I’m an artist so I think that’s one reason I love Disneyland so much. I brought an artist friend to Disneyland for the first Time a few years ago. She was amazed at how we would get transported from one land to another and our senses became totally immersed. She loved it. She said she didn’t understand the hype then but she does now that she has visited.
I just love that I found your channel! Just had surgery and will be home bound a while but now I can go to Disneyland when the pain gets a bit too much to handle. Am I sitting here feeling sorry for myself? NO! I am walking around California Adventure with you! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me such a wonderful gift ❤
This is so very cool. Thank you. Makes me want to go to search for these. Unfortunately it's just too expensive for me to go anymore. Have a blessed wonderful day
I always wished that Hollywoodland had gotten a real redo when Buena Vista Street was being built. (They had concept renderings at one point to replace the cheesy blue sky with an actual theatre facade and lobby.) That part of the park was the main last ugly remnant of DCA 1.0. (Although a lot of their decisions since removing Tower of Terror have made the park just a hodgepodge of the latest Disney synergy trends. It really needs to be renamed at this point.)
Keep doing these deep dives!!! The hidden mysterious magic that puts everything together for our eyes and overall experience id what makes Disney, well, Disney!! As we walk through the parks, we see them, but don't process them. We chaulk it up as just part of the park without realizing it.
Hey Brickey! I’ve walked those streets many, many times and didn’t notice much of what you’ve pointed out. Thank you for helping me see. Can’t wait until Monday when I can try out my new sight.
In high school I got to perform at Disneyland for a choir trip. If I remember right, The "fake building" at the end of Hollywood street, the Mac and cheese one I think was access to the stage on the other side. And my memory isn't great. But somewhere behind the riperian theater was backstage area for us to warm up and change etc. It had old sets from shows I think?? It was so awesome. No phones allowed unfortunately but not surprised by that.
This was so cool! And a great cure to my post Disney Depression from being there a month ago. Living in Washington state I only make it down once a year so I love these videos!! 😂
Hey Brickey loved the video. The details that Imagineering does is out of this world. I would love to have you do a video on the main street windows in Disneyland. The story behind all the names that are on the windows. Maybe you have already? What are your thoughts on this? 😊
Always love your deep dives. Hollywood land is interesting because when it opened it was supposed to be a backlot so the buildings were supposed to be facades as you would have at a working studio and that is why we get to see the backside as fake. Hopefully they continue to build out the area as Marvel themed areas and we make it better fake buildings and cityscape. Thanks for all the fun observations and info. #club1313
it goes even deeper; during the time when Walt Disney first came to LA, he was a vacuum salesman for something hilarious like two days, and he hated it so much that he quit on the spot. Called the company and told him where they could pick up the samples he had left on the street. So a little secret nod to some of his failures during the "suitcase and a dream" era
"sell you the idea that it's real, cause it's not" except they are real buildings in LA. lol I always say now, instead of going to DCA, just go to Los Angeles and actually track down the real history of what they're trying to show you in DCA....I realized this during Covid when I couldn't go to disneyland anymore.
We have lost main streets throughout the US, isn’t it nice to remind us of the beautiful past and the way things should be like….maybe you can tour main streets around the country and tell us what’s really wrong.
Your WOKE, get the JAB rant bugged me and I unsubscribed. NOW, your putting out so much good Disneyland content I'm back. Also love the Expansion series your doing, very original stuff!
"Real or fake?" Really fake! California Adventure is all about immersion in an illusion, not all that much different from watching images projected on a screen in rapid sequence.
I love that you say Ladies and Gentlemen... I'm a gay man and I never want to hear welcome Friends. It's so rediculous. Brickey, you are clearly a man. Enough said. I know you'll bow to the LGBT community. I just want it to go back to the soul of LGBT. There is no plus and and alphabet. LADIES AND GENTLEMAN. By Walter Elias Disney. Enough said. Don't judge me. Are you a bearded lady? No you are not

Love the more niche deep dives into the parks! Nobody does it better… or maybe nobody else does it at all 😂

excellent work Brickey ❤ Never noticed the LaBrea Carpets sign. Carpets, car pets, tar pets, Tar Pits! lol
These designer deep dives are absolutely amazing. I’ve been watching theme park vloggers for years, but I feel like I have finally found the guy I relate to the most. Finally, love and appreciation for the parks from an artists point of view. Great stuff Brickey.
This was a Fantastic Deep Dive into the Fake buildings of Disney. Loved this design perspective Brickey!!!
I'm here for the fake merch search. 😂 18:09
I'm really enjoying these deep dives! Thanks Brickey!

I’ve been bamboozled! Love this breakdown, so many details I’ve never noticed, especially the 9th wonder of the world, the “backside of schmoozies” 😂

Very cool! Sometimes I forget to look for all the design details. Thanks for this!

Most intriguing- keep up with the perspectives! Really shows what makes Disney special - I do feel as though there is wonderment around every corner ✨
I'm loving these designer deep dive videos.
Love these deep dive videos
Gorgeous buildings in DCA! Thanks for highlighting so many details.
I just love that I found your channel! Just had surgery and will be home bound a while but now I can go to Disneyland when the pain gets a bit too much to handle. Get Well Soon!
I love these videos. I’m an event producer and I get so many ideas from the way Disney guides the guest experience.
24:44 Bro, I didn’t even know that was even called San Francisco Street! Lol
Loved the creative breakdown…and how much you love the storytelling in the small sections of buildings!
This is so very cool. Thank you. Makes me want to go to search for these. Unfortunately it's just too expensive for me to go anymore. Have a blessed wonderful day

Fabulous Fakes! Love the details!
Yes indeed Brickey!.. Love that you’ve included and recognized San Francisco St!!! 👏🤩
If I had to guess, that pop up on top of Pym's is a tech booth for the stunt shows on the HQ facade.
@@AmusementLabs it absolutely is the location where they house production for the stunt shows.
Thanks so much for your design insights. We are looking forward to the ‘vibes’ in August. Haven’t been there since 2018.
Hey Brickey!
I’ve walked those streets many, many times and didn’t notice much of what you’ve pointed out.

Such a great video idea, Brickey! That green marble-ish and stone building reminds me of the Wilshire Department store in West LA/Koreatown
from the 20s/30s- it’s a law school now I think?
Just visited 2nd week of April. First time at DCA in 19 years. These are the details that made me love it
I can’t wait to just wonder through the parks taking my time to look at the details.
I’ve never noticed the small building details on Buena Vista Street, and now I appreciate it 10x more. Thank you Brickey! Keep up the great content 🏰
New subscriber. Bring on the niche!
your videos are exactly what i need to play planet coaster a lot of inspiration with stuff like the tricks that you talk about.
Hey Brickey loved the video. The details that Imagineering does is out of this world. I would love to have you do a video on the main street windows in Disneyland. The story behind all the names that are on the windows. Maybe you have already? What are your thoughts on this? 😊
The second building is the panteges theater building. This is where Howard Hughes ran RKO.
Anyone else notice the radiator springs sign that says “Association of Code in the Machines”?
Oooh, he's gonna trip when he goes to Universal Studios!!!
Blue fairy is slippin’.
Damn, I love this shit Brickey! Thank you.
Im here for the fske comments!😁

@@HeyBrickey I am too. I thing they are waiting to see if they can claw more of that space back by reworking the eastern entrance.
A deep dive
Nice “go away green” background music to mask the copyrighted songs.
Role models is actually the max factor building.
7:11 i just realized the pun of la brea carpets/ la brea tar pits-
it goes even deeper; during the time when Walt Disney first came to LA, he was a vacuum salesman for something hilarious like two days, and he hated it so much that he quit on the spot. I love a good niche

But they will give you 50,000 to take it!
Here for aaallll the LIES
The "macaroni and cheese building" is the Blaine Building.
Props are physical objects actors use on set. Those would be facades.
We have lost main streets throughout the US, isn’t it nice to remind us of the beautiful past and the way things should be like….maybe you can tour main streets around the country and tell us what’s really wrong.
That's why it's called magic and illusions and imagination
We need more attractions these fake buildings are taking out space
Your WOKE, get the JAB rant bugged me and I unsubscribed. NOW, your putting out so much good Disneyland content I'm back. Also love the Expansion series your doing, very original stuff!
I have gone to the California adventure once, it was to be nice, a disappointment
"Real or fake?"
Really fake!
California Adventure is all about immersion in an illusion, not all that much different from watching images projected on a screen in rapid sequence.
🙌🏼⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🏅
Have you ever heard of a facade?
Duh!! It means fake arcade 🙄
😂😂😂
It is pronounced Bwayna Vista, not Boona Vista!
