I love the art of Randall Spangler. The dragonlings are so cute and the running theme of cookies is so funny to find and notice. I was so happy DAC finally released the sticker sheet with the pre cut.it makes kitting up SO much easier than having to fuss with an exacto blade and a prayer. Can't wait to see when you start this!
I'm right there with you! I love finding the recurring themes throughout his artwork, they're so cute! Oh gosh, I really, really love the precut sticker sheets. It might be a small thing, but goodness it's a pain to try to peel back those stickers, even with the "tricks" to make it easier.

Aawww... these draglings are so precious... trying to cook such human foods. I I had seen some other Spangler paintings, Diamond painting or not, that didn't involve kitchen themes. Still... I caught one of those rascals with a chocolate chip cookie. I foresee a lot of nights drinking tea and finishing a good book (by filling it in with drills). I haven't completed enough of a Spangler painting to know how well lettering will show up, but interesting that you're catching some misspellings. I wonder if that's some intentional thing, like a hidden Easter egg.

I just started this! It's the first DAC canvas I've ever worked on. I just love these little dragons! I went a bit nuts and bought three of them at once. So far, I love the shine of the drills and the rendering - DAC's style suits Randal Spangler's are so well. However, I'm not crazy about the amount of gapping between these square drills. I prefer a tighter or more flush fit to the drills. I'm hoping this isn't typical of their kits, because I want to get everything from the dragling series!

I noticed a slight gapping with my most recent kit from them, "Snow Deer," and I'm hoping it's just them compensating for poor drill quality lately... I'm going to reach out to them to let them know. Hopefully if they hear from enough people, they'll be quick to fix it. That aside, I completely agree with you that DAC's rendering style and Randal Spangler's artwork are an amazing match!
I love Randal Spangler! I thought the misspellings were on purpose. He will often use real book titles. I thought he had to do that so he wouldn't get into copyright trouble.
Randal Spangler's artwork is just so darn cute! I would have thought the misspellings were on purpose too, but they're spelled correctly in the original artwork. The errors are just in the DAC renderings 😆 The first one I remember seeing was they misspelled "marshmallow" as "marshmellow" on the Halloween dragons kit. Easy enough to fix, at least! :)

I’m working on a DAC canvas right now and I’m getting a lot of trash in my AB drills, as well as other colors with tabs still on the drill 🤷🏻♀️. I’m going to keep on trucking along, but what is the “normal” amount of trash? This is my first DAC, so I’m not sure what is considered normal. Thank you 😎❤️
I'm sorry you're running into trash drills, Meg! That's annoying to have to pick through. I feel like a handful of "trash" drills (as in, drills you won't want to put on your canvas) are normal, especially with the really dark drills and even the ABs. Basically, as long as I have enough good drills to finish the kit, I'm okay with some trash, but it can make multiplacing annoying! Don't hesitate to reach out to DAC customer service, though, if you think you might run out of non-trash drills.
Doing a dragon 🐲 right now!!! Unfortunately he doesn't really grab me either. I can see the appeal though. Why is everything so big??? Like that bunny 🐰 pic??? Anyways, have a day.
bad square drills aren't just a DAC issue, every company that sells square diamond kits are having issues with bad drills and lots of trash. It sounds like the companies who make them are lacking in quality control.
It does seem to be a widespread problem lately, but I'm surprised to see so much from DAC lately. Hopefully the manufacturers will up the quality control sooner rather than later!

Hi there - in Diamond Art Club's numbering, anything under the number 150 is an AB.
I find 310’s in any paintings are a problem😀
