This year 2021 is 40 years ago I and my family drove right past that spot. With the steep mountains right to the fiord I would call it 'more than just risky' too. But I reckon a lot of calculations have been made before the release...
and to think as kids we used get drunk and the next morning we would climb up top and do boulder rolling .... a bunch of guys tipping and kick starting large boulders down hill sides ...devastatingly fun
I'm guessing that it is an illusion that all those buildings look so close. I wonder in reality if we were to see from above if there is actually some distance in between the houses and the mountain face.

I wouldn't live in an area being so close to a mountain. Boulders are bound to become loose and dislodge from the body of a mountain and fall to it's base. With all that connetic energy from falling, and given the size of large/very large boulders, × the rate and distance the boulder(s) fall, it would desinergrate any wooden structure, even if said structure we're set back from mountain.
Descriptions missed the cause - blowing off dangerous rocks who when left in place may ceuse much larger landslide with possible fjord tsunami. Causing real danger to town below and other towns around this fjord.
That is where they making nuclear bomb. They needed the water to cool down the machine. Is too much and too risky to remove the nuclear to different location
Hey Arvid Aga, do you have an email address at which we could contact you regarding this video? We would be interested to discuss a license to use this video if this is generally possible? (i.e. via email) 🙂 Cheers, Felix
Wow, I bet the housing took some dings and broken windows! That was incredible - thanks for the video!
Exactly what I was thinking!! I’ll bet that there were a few holes that go right though the houses!

I wonder if the falling Boulders caused others that were relatively stable to become unstabilized in the fall.
Those damn exploding rocks!
That sure strikes me as being more than just risky...
Frightening to say the least!

Window washer profits and vacuum sales are both going WAY up.
When the satellites start to hit each other that's what it will look like in our atmosphere a major chane reaction.
Why would they do that over a town or a factory like that aren't they worried about damaging any of that ???
Probably worried that uncontrolled landslide would do worse damage.
Better in that way than people will get surprised. It's in any case better. Goods or houses can be replaced, people's not.
They didn't do it for fun. They did it because loose rock was in danger of breaking loose randomly and damaging the town.
This is such a dumb act!!
Impresionante!!!
The first mistake was building anything there to begin with. It just got worse after that.
Say that to folks who settled to live in this place centuries ago.
That escalated quickly.
👉 thats awesomeness

Those houses got hammered with rock
Great footage, like taken straight out of a nightmare!

What kind of plant is that? Looks as if those that live there work there? Is there a road to the top of the mountain?

That was a whole lot of effect for just knocking some boulders off.
I see these similar set ups all over here in California. Some are much larger residential neighborhoods.
No, you don't, they don't use explosives here in Cali, no need for them, idiot.
The people who placed those charges must have nerves of steel just to climb around on that rock face.
I expect it was punishment on the local officials that signed off on planning permission for those houses. What an insane place to build.
Prob used a launcher

That is where they making nuclear bomb. They needed the water to cool down the machine. Is too much and too risky to remove the nuclear to different location
