they have specialist equipment that reads the activity of the volcano and on a day where it shows high activity they will post up and hope to see something cool (I think that’s more or less it)

As recently as 2003, it managed to create an island 15m (48ft) high, but it stopped erupting and got eroded away. It needs to erupt a lot more and continuously if its going to turn into Hawaii

@@LUCSchnl that’s... exactly how islands work? Even though it is very viscous, there is lava buildup that can reach the surface. This particular volcano, Kavachi, has reached the surface several times. But the oceans keep “sweeping away its efforts” because the magma supply isn’t fully constant.
