I like that this is the perfect little diagram of the 1-to-2, 2-to-4 branching structure. Doing a lot better than my sycamore which was eaten my the mouse over the winter. Cheers bro

I quite like this little tree without the branch you removed really flows well. That small scar will heal nicely - much faster than if you removed the branch later in its development. Can't believe how small those leaves are!

Cheers Sue, yeah i think it was a very happy accident for sure!

Something has made pretty patterns on my leaves, not eaten the whole leaf and now not revisited but will spray soon with garlic and wash up liquid. Keep growing.xx

Not much work needed on this one Ian! I can't wait to chop my Sycamore someday, I just keep putting it off year after year.

Sycamore's are beautiful full-size trees, but they don't get any fall color - the leaves just dry up and die. The spring leaves here look nice. I wonder how it responds to defoliation? You could probably carve the chop back a little more. Looks like it might grow into a bump. However, weird bumps are another feature of the species.

cheers i think it would respond pretty well to defoliation. might grow back like crazy actually. i will get round to doing that at some point,so i guess we will see.
as for the wound, yeah you are right. might look weird. but also that is kind of natural for them too, so i will probably just leave that to do its own thing
