Here's a based take: the og snipers were balanced by today's standards, the problem was the timing. If we had it during things like akimbo fennec, the mx9 meta, and the Mac 10 meta, this would easily compete and would be one of the larger meta pools, which would make it feel like mw2 days rather than a whole team spamming one meta weapon
Akimbo 50 GS wasn't never good, the hip fire wasn't that good as the fennec, u could literally have more chances of winning gunfights using only one .50 GS
I've been playing CODM since its release. Nothing gave me a worse nightmare than NA-45 when it released. It only took two users of NA-45 to wreck in a domination or Hardpoint match. Epecially NA-45 in Shipment...
Also some broken metas worth mentioning: 1. QXR - 4 shot capability until mid range with ver fast firerate 2. Akimbo 50.gs - Litterally a primary disguised as a secondary 3. Fennec (2nd era) - before mx9 was meta, it was the 2nd best gun in the game and the reason is the fennec (no akimbo) had better consistency 4. Zigzag bug - There was a bug where you would move quickly in a zigzag motion and it would look like your speed hacking, and garena being garena, people abused it to the point where its considered as meta. 5. Echo - Automatic shotgun with steroid range = no skill dumdum gun

I first started to play in the first time the Holger came out, so i don't have all that past experience, but to me now the worst has been the fennec buff when mx9 came and now the fucking kilo , the amount of people camping behind covers with that shit gun is massive and it's going on for 3 seasons , the type nerf made zero sense when on the other hand they buffed kilo
You would need to have good aim and flick speed to be good at pre nerf snipers, the only thing that is broken about them is ads speed and blank scope reaching absurd ranges
hg40 was the the best gun of all time, good ads, good range, good ttk, that one barrel had silencer and extended range, good strafe. that had was perfect but was broken
Well, it’s not even close, MX9 was broken even at long range, Mac10 it’s just for close range, and it has a lot more recoil than the MX9 had in that time
I respectfully disagree as base mac 10 is subsonic and it has much more recoil, worser bsa and it's not as consistent as prime Mx9. But I'd still say mac 10 requires a nerf to its strafe speed WHEN using extended mags. Btw if y'all aren't aware mac aldready got a shadow nerf to the strafe speed
These meta weapons (pre-gunsmith) was never really felt in the garena, the server was busy dabbling with shotguns and snipers. The initial shotgun nerf was probably the most remembered moment in the server.
I would say the worst meta was Akimbo Fennecs and Akimbo deagle because it literally required no skill and the fact that they were meta at the same time...

Stopped playing codm 2 weeks ago. Been playing since season 3 br (over two years). The season with the merk 5 yellow snake br reward skin. Played codm every single day and ended with 12 time mp legendary and 10 times br. Because I didn't play br seriously for 3 seasons. Should have been 13 times legendary. This video just brought back so many memories to me because I've play though every single one of these Meta's. Made me depressed tbh. But I gotta move on and try to be more productive. At one point I was playing codm for at least 17 hours per day, everyday. But yeah. Ggs. Uninstalled the app yesterday. Still didn't own a single legendary gun but had every gun gold though. It was the easiest point and click operator and i was 100% happy when they nerfed it. Annihilator took absolutely no skills. It took me weeks to master the sparrow. Maybe that’s why i was annoyed with the annihilator, because of how easy it was.
Yea, pre nerf snipers would ruin SnD, no hitflinch, and u could shoot twice with the locus before somone could kill with a basic reg gun, meaning the sniper would have to be cheeks to not kill u most the time. Even now, snipers are still powerful, but ina good place
Back when DR-H was meta ,I used DR-H for every MP match but I never knew it was meta , I just thought it's a version of SCAR-H so it got to be high damade low recoil and average rate of fire, but when MX-9 was released I discovered the existence of "metas" in game and also got hit hard in the head that DR-H was balanced which made me really sad but wasn't annoyed bcuz I was fed up by MX-9 . I still try to stay off meta in ranked but may use M-13 to turn the tables once in a while
The qxr is my fav weapon even before the massive full I wish it got buffed a little more now nowhere near the broken version but the gun isn’t that good rn
I hate CoDM buffing the QXR. At release it was already balanced then they added a few buffs then went insane with the next. I don't know what they were thinking because to begin with the QXR was being used frequently before the buffs

Cordite only had 300+ ttk while most ars like kn44, hbr, and bk57 had 270

I hate CoDM buffing the QXR. At release it was already balanced then they added a few buffs then went insane with the next. I don't know what they were thinking because to begin with the QXR was being used frequently before the buffs

man am I bugging but I feel like codm’s peak was when the guns were overpowered as hell. I think the reason why people ain’t enjoying the game anymore is because players are a lot more skilled today and on top of that, players abuse the hell out of the meta. Because of that, playing codm is just stressful.
The QXR and Fenec metas were nuts! No idea how they missed a mention in this vid.

And developers need to support players with maximum purchases and they move game one sided to have maximum profit
