    Didn't notice any major change in commentary, still very enjoyable.

    These were some of your best games ever. Maybe the new playing style is what’s making a difference, keep it up 🎉

    That 2nd game was highly impressive for me. I was in awe with that game! Very instructive. I somehow got so much respect for that game and your Phantomenal foresight.

      For real! Phantom played that amazingly, I was impressed. Based on the opponenets potential settles I thought he had it in the bag. I would have taken the 9 10 11 ore sheep sheep though instead of what he took. May not have worked but having no ore really screwed him over.

    the self-block robber strat on a hex you outproduce 3:1 is wild

    That first game I was amazed they didn't take 8-5-10 up 9-10-11 with the starting road and plow you, that looked like an amazing setup to me. Keep on crushing it Phantom, #1 here we come!

      Leaving me the 6/9/4 into 4/11/5 and 8/3/4 is pretty deadly just to get a plow to a 9 ore and it might not even pay off if I roll the 6 lol. Also I don’t hate 6/11/12 and cutting him from the 9 ore

    Oh man that entire 8:00 to 8:30 was MAD. You blocked your own wheat where you produce 3 to his 1, then you 4:1 your wheat for an ore then you say you don't want to aggressive knight and remove it from the one roll that gives you a city, only to 4:1 your sheep for a wheat... MAD MAD MAD 😂😂😂
    Entertaining but MAD 😂

    Hey nice wins. What are your thoughts on RB into 6-11-12 rather than 2-5-10 @ 41:30 instead? That was my instinct, to double the 6 wheat and restrict his space even more. I think the 11 brick is actually quite nice for you too. Keep it up! #1 soon!!!

    47:20 you had 15 road potential. going around the 9 wood and then connecting at the 5 11 ore. gg phant. keep grinding. rooting for you.

    first game - your oponent should go 8:10:5 (sheep,wheat) and 9:10:11 and cut you on 9:10

    In game 1, could it be a strategy to take 8/4 with brick port as second settle, just to destroy his game plan? The 3 wheat isn’t amazing value for you?

  • @Draughnter

    34:37 the biggest thing for me would have been to see jf I can’t snag his 8:3 settle spot using the YOP in the next turn(s). His game is kind of toast if you do. But definitely understand your city reasoning

  • @ESTAMPILLO

    Is there a particular reason why the guy in the first game couldn’t go 5-8-10 and 9-10-11 and use the free road to cut you off from the 9-10 with the 3-1 port?

  • @eberlchl
    @eberlchl 6 месяцев назад +1

    hey Phantom, do you think you would still city the 6-11-3 now knowing you were going to end up blocking the 6 anyway? (over the 10-8-3)

    • @ThePhantomCatan
      @ThePhantomCatan  6 месяцев назад

      Probably still the 6 wheat (it did win us the game at the end) but there isn’t a huge difference I don’t think

  • @MichaelEAConn

    In game one, why isn’t second player doing 8510 and free road on 91011 to pouch to 3-1 port and 910?
    Still good production along bottom of board to leverage.

    • @ThePhantomCatan
      @ThePhantomCatan  6 месяцев назад

      Actually if he leaves me 6/9/4 I’ll probably take it and destroy him

    • @MichaelEAConn
      @MichaelEAConn 6 месяцев назад

      @@ThePhantomCatan Would have been interesting
      The other player would have the 3-1, two wheat spots (and a 3rd one settle away), start with an ore, ability to quickly settle on 9 ore, etc.
      But honestly take your word for it! haha

  • @98Nedeljko

    Why not take the wheat port first and then 3:1???
