    Try hot wiring coil
    That will eliminate carbs or ignition problem
    Check fuses

    It only seems to fire when the key is in the start position so maybe faulty ballast resistor?

      My thoughts as well - assuming it has a ballast resistor. Quick Google suggests that they do.
