- Low% MST rules: Beat the game under normal MST rules (Get all medallions, spiritual stones, and complete Ganon's castle Trials, no RBA or GIM allowed) but with the lowest possible number of items. This means the category involves lots of crazy and difficult tricks in order to skip items.

This is more of a challenge category than a speedrun category, I'm doing this because I think its a super cool run because of all the amazing tricks in it, and I think you guys will enjoy it too, but this won't be taken too seriously as a speedrun.
If it ever becomes possible to skip another item, all runs with the lower item count would obsolete runs with a higher item count regardless of time. For example, a 10 hour 22 item run would beat a 4 hour 23 item run.

3:07:56 ZFG is so unabashedly confident here, and I love it. He says "I save it because I am so amazing" with no sarcasm or hint of irony... and the thing is he really is absolutely correct. He really is so amazing at this game. I found it interesting because ZFG is usually very humble.
I’m guessing he meant it as a joke but he just has a very dry delivery. He is an amazing OoT speedrunner though.

I too, when I was six, couldn't for the life of me find the kokiri sword and spend a whole day exploring the lost woods with just sticks.

Oliver so is what they're referencing. Look at the zfg video of 10-year-old oot runs. It's the second run featured. Some guy who knew nothing about zelda commentated over a run and he was hilarious. Left to eat and get phone calls a bunch.

It's rare when a speedrun trick helps for casual plays, but that holding Z-track for climbing the spirit temple wall is pretty useful.
it's a shame there's no way to trick the shooting gallery guy into giving you the big quiver without the bow

If it was possible to skip bow, would that mean you would come back to forest temple later with light arrows? If I'm not mistaken, you need either hookshot or bow to fight Phantom Ganon's first phase.
Slingshot works too, but that means getting it

This might be an obvious answered question, but I'm a bit out of the loop so I'll ask. Why is this MST instead of All Dungeons? I recall hearing that All Dungeons was considered a better category because it seemed strange to include having to do Ganon's Trials being considered on par to doing the dungeons. So is MST popular again, do you just personally prefer MST, or what exactly?
ZFG is it? Killing Ganon is still listed as one of the requirements on zeldaspeedruns. Have they just not updated the site?

+ZFG hey zfg this is an awesome run. i really enjoyed it. but i have 2 questions:
1. what happens if you go into the shooting gallery without a bow?could you get a quiver without bow that way?
2. what happens in ganons castle if you shoot a light arrow at coordinates 0,0,0? the rule says you have to dispel the barrier not to complete the trials.
thanks for the lightning fast answer. but i think the problem with 000 is not that its bomb only, i rather think its that you have to hit it precisely which is easy with the blastradius. another problem could be that the hitboxes are not really loaded but rather everything is just at/inside point 000 and therefore can only be hit by stuff that damages an area rather than a specific target. i just checked and in your agdq 100% run you say enemys are stored there. is it verified that its just the enemys or is it just assumed because noone interacted yet with something else at 000? im thinking if they did that with enemys they probably also store other stuff there like the orb thingys you have to shoot with light arrows. sadly i myself dont posses the skills needed to check that out but it might be a route improvement that helps you get back MST WR

On the shadow temple, why the normal arrow allows the bomb flowers to explode? I thought it was with fire arrows only

If you get the deku shield and it get burned by a keese would it count towards and item, even if it doesn't show up in your start menu when you're done?
Probably yes, i think obtaining the item ticks the box for said item, otherwise duping over items could reduce the ammount of items ticked id say

Question about this category:
To some degree, I can understand why you wouldn't count keys in a low% win condition. How come that's not the case for the ocarina, though? Since you already have the ocarina when you utilize the bottle glitch, why don't you just allow people to grab it if they don't want to glitch the use of it?
Note: This comes from the assumption that skipping keys is something that you could do but don't because it doesn't matter. If you couldn't skip the keys then it'd make more sense(ish).
Ocarina is an item that actually shows in your inventory
With that logic you might aswell grab fire arrows since with action swap you can replicate its effect aswell

WOW I an run this one cause it can be done on gamecube, the only version I have. Are any other categories the same?
Most categories that are fastest on the VC version work the same on GC, just slower because of resets (the one exception being 100%).
are you allowed to RBA items out of your inventory? i mean if that were the case you could jump to the tower collapse and then just RBA your inventory down to almost nothing right?
never mind i didn't read the tooltip saying that RBA was banned
In addition to that, items count when you get them, not whether or not you have them in your inventory at the end. For example, if you get a deku shield and burned it, it would still count as getting deku shield, so you need to avoid getting it at all for the whole run.

They don’t because it doesn’t fill in another slot in the menu screen, it just fills in what’s in the bottle, therefore it isn’t an item
I didn't know about the night guards at the stealth area. I might have encountered it once when I was young, but I don't think so. That is really dumb design though. There is no reason why they would be patrolling the water spout unless that area was purposefully designed to be entered into (as evidenced by the block puzzle.
Wow, Fire Temple is really intense in this run.
They block you at night because if you get to the courtyard at night, you can’t meet Zelda!

I know MST is a more arbitrary category (Trials) but why is RBA banned?
Because then you can RBA Medallions and Stones. However there is a category called MSB (Medallions, Stones, Barrier) which does allow RBA.

Nope, it only checks for Shadow and Spirit medallions.

As a youing kid i always wished for a OOT or a majora with changed damage. I wanted to hit shit more. By the age of 8 i had both games pretty much mastered as a casual. Then i met dark souls. and boy, life sucked but it sucked so good.

The "got item x-box" gets ticked whenever you obtain an item from one of its intended sources, you got 1 bottle in this run no matter if u duped it over stuff for some time.

Cutscenes show link having the Ocarina of Time by default if you don't have any ocarina. Just a visual thing.

Late reply but, yes, yes he can but the category is MST Low%, meaning that he has to obtain Medallions, Spiritual Stones and finish the Trials at Ganon's Castle so doing the Wrong Warp would defeat the point of the category
