I definitely think the Composer Brothers are Sheikah. They don't seem young enough to only have been born after Impa opened the village to regular people, they specifically talk about being "born to serve the Royal Family" which is something the Sheikah take particular pride in, and the fact that they're researchers studying the power of the Royal Family mirrors the way the Sheikah are depicted as being keepers and seekers of secret knowledge in most of the games.
The Sheikah were essentially the Zelda universe's interpretation of the Iga ninja, who were loyal servants of the shogunate. Although it's not until BotW that this fact is explicitly shown to the players. Impa (and Zelda, after Impa shared her some of her knowledge during the timeskip) being the only one who upholds that image, hints that the Sheikah talked about in the Hero of Time's lifetime had been in decline for a long time. It's possible that the Composer Brothers used some kind of jutsu (the folkloric/Futaro Yamada type, because Naruto didn't exist back when OoT was released) to preserve their consciousness as ghosts until someone worthy of serving the Royal Family showed up. The Mask of Truth, Lens of Truth, and Gossip Stones are all tiny little evidences of the plethora of jutsu the Sheikah would use for surveillance/espionage.
"Considering how King Zora and Princess Ruto look, the queen would have had to be quite beautiful" Damn you didn't have to do the king dirty like that.
Speaking of Dark Link, I think Shiek knew about him. He gives Link a hint about it while teaching him the Serenade of Water, saying, "Reflect upon yourself." It's possible that Zelda had a prophetic dream about the fight, or went to the Water Temple herself and encountered her own reflection.
I love when Zeltik makes long videos. After I watch them, these are what I sleep to every night for months. It was originally the Strongest Link video, now I have all these new long ones lol
The fact that gerudo heads are modeled inside the iron knuckles blew my mind. All these years later and I'm still learning new things about this game. It really is a wonderful work of art.
It's probably because all Iron Knuckles have the same model, so the developers just reused the same model for every one so they didn't have to make separate models.
@@RabblesTheBinx I was thinking about this lately, and I realized that standard Iron Knuckles and brainwashed Nabooru DO have seperate models, so it's not like they wanted to cheap out, they actually put the Gerudo models in there on purpose.
An interpretation of the Broken Goron Sword that I've seen tossed around is that the Biggoron Sword will never break when used properly, but since the carpenter wasn't using the sword as a sword, he put strain on it in ways that it simply wasn't designed for.
Nabooru's story is the most disturbing part of the game for me. Imagine being brainwashed into serving your enemy and acting contrary to your values for 7 years, causing suffering and gaining a reputation for cruelty despite that cruelty being not of your own will. To me that's far more horrifying than any redead.
@JellyDishWasher Currently, members of the German military are allowed to refuse any order that they believe would violate human decency. I do realize that you said _most,_ but it’s still worth pointing out.
I remember never realizing that the Fire Temple was meant to be built into the spires of the crater. When I got older and realized it, it blew my mind.
Yup and it’s the same direction too. When you jump down to get to the fire temple you turn around 180 degrees and run towards the direction of spectacle rock.
Inside Death Mountain Crater are two large spires that serve as the game's Spectacle Rock. One of them has a Heart Piece on it that requires planting the magic beans to reach normally. The mid and upper levels of the Fire Temple are basically broken into two separate "shaft" structures that are rounded. These are supposed to be within the two rock spires that make up Spectacle Rock. Realizing it when I got older blew my mind.
So: the cucco lady studies breeding miniature cuccos at the lakeside lab. The potion shop lady also studied at the lab, and has a small tiger on her desk. The tiger is probably not a kitten, but a full grown miniature tiger.
God man. I was right to feel the way I did about this game as a kid. It’s amazing how much backstory work Nintendo was doing with the lore even back then, stuff that wasn’t even revealed in the game (like the Poe sisters) but that you felt the ripples of in a way you couldn’t quite put your finger on. I’m proud to have been a Zelda fan for so long 🥹
I've been pretty sick this week and decided to replay OoT for the first time since the 3DS release. Experiencing this game in a fevery, almost half asleep detached state has been really interesting and makes me feel like I'm truly rediscovering it, even though this will be like my 4th playthrough over the years.
I always thought the skull mask looked like the mask that Phantom Ganon wears. Which makes sense based on the kokiri reaction to it asking if you're a forest ghost.
What if the poe collector... IS the missing graveyard kid? I never made the connection before today, but.... the stick, the fascination with ghosts and all... It really does make WAY too much sense.
I prefer the theory that the Poe guy is the castle guard who's in that treasury 7 years prior. He talks to young Link about his research into Poes as a hobby.
There’s a lot of melancholic and somber things that happen in OOT, many people think that majoras mask is the only dark Zelda game but ocarina has just as many moments to me. It’s just subtler and not as in your face as MM.
@@samd2013 True, MM isn't the only dark Zelda, lore-wise. Just probably the most depressing. Especially after you've seen a few character reactions during the last few hours of the Final Day.
I grew up in the early 2000s and for as long as i can remember i was always asking questions, why is the sky blue, why does my head hurt etc. And when the wii came out in 2006 my grandfather got us a wii for christmas, so when i found out that i could play older games like oot and majoras mask, i was really excited, my older brother had played ocarina growing up and was always talking about it, so when i finally played it i was hooked. I did nothing but walk around hyrule for hours at a time looking for secrets and what i would later be known as “easter eggs” and i was so proud to see so many of my childhood discoveries in this video. I love this. They say time travel doesnt exist, im right back in 2007 again. Thank you.
I had a similar experience with A Link to The Past, and later on Link's Awakening HD. Never thought I'd find a game that would make me feel so much like a little kid again, upturning new and forgotten secrets of this series. Both games have so many similarities to OoT, it's amazing to see what ground work they started with and developed over the decades
My favorite secret is that if you wait a minute on the press start screen, a cutscene will play. It shows Links journey in the game. It goes all the way to the spirit temple, and if you get stuck you can even get hints on where to go from the details of the cutscene.
there is only two scenes it shows. it first shows the scene of nabooru falling out of the armor and then getting zapped, then a scene of ganondorf riding behind fire in a black void. there is not any hints about what to do in the title screen demos, at least not in the original.
I grew up playing the original (8-Bit) Zelda, moved on the “The Adventures of Link” and loved that too! The switch to SNES accompanied with “A link to the Past” was probably the most impressive advancement I‘ve experience in the video game world… That was until the “Ocarina of Time” came out on the Nintendo64. That was literally a ‘Game changer!’ (Pun intended) The amount of memory and processing was outstanding for that time. The only other game I experienced that would be even close to that, was Mario64. Having said that, once playing OoT, I soon forgot about Mario and was completely enthralled with the new Hyrule! In just 2 days, OoT will be 24 years old! And it’s playability today is just as impressive and fun! I love each and every Zelda game for many, but different reasons..But for my money, this was the game that changed the way/future of what would be ‘The Legend of Zelda’ forever! Had they not made such an amazing game when the 64 came out, who knows….Perhaps another open world game would have fed the hunger that so, so many people had back then! I Love the ‘Ocarina of Time’ and love the videos you’ve created on such an amazing game! Great job Zeltik!
Is it just me, or doesn't Phantom Ganon's face look like the skull mask you had to trade as a kid. It just struck me while watching the video. Could that mean that either the Skullkid became the Phantom, or even the god the Deku Scrubs worship?

I think with kaepora not knowing about the ability to travel through time is easily explained actually. Rauru only talks to link after the 7 year gap so any knowledge rauru had would only be known during the adult era, therefore in the past when link is a child rauru (and kaepora since they are the same) would not know about the time traveling since rauru does not travel through time.
The fact that Ocarina of Time has so many unsolved mysteries definitely adds to it's appeal and staying power as one of the best Zelda games. So many other games do so much to tie up all loose ends but life doesn't always give you all the answers and neither should a world full of interesting characters.
@@SuperCoooolman SS Zelda's dad isn't Rauru, and Kaepora Gaebora is confirmed to be an incarnation of OoT Rauru, who used it to interact with the world outside of the Sacred Realm.
Even since someone mentioned that the three first notes from Shadow temple's theme are the first three notes from Zelda's lullaby, I can't unhear them. Also, when Link is an "adult" (he's still 16-17), and following the line of "Gerudo will kidnap Hylian men to reproduce", you can see why he's placed in a cell different from everyone else. He's not there to be killed, he's probably there to.... well, use your imagination.
That thing about the first three notes of the Shadow Temple being the same as Zelda’s lullaby (Royal Family theme) is really interesting, I checked and it does sound that way
27:35 Thank you, Sir! Now I can't get that image out of my mind. On the same note: Since Jabu-Jabu lives at the source, that means all of Hyrule drinks his bodily fluids. Someone needs to build a water filtering system there.
This reminds me of something I recently noticed. In a lot of games in the Zelda series, including Ocarina, Lake Hylia just happens to have two islands close together, often with hidden caves inside them. And in Ocarina, Link Between Worlds, and the original, the easternmost of these islands happens to has a dungeon on, inside, or under it. What's especially notable about Ocarina is that its eastern island has a large, gnarled tree, just like the one the island's dungeon in the original game is found under.
I can’t help but love the intro music of your videos, It really captures the Zelda content you do( the choir especially, my favorite choir parts in Zelda are, Oot fire temple, Oot shadow temple, totk intro, totk fire temple, and this.)
Regarding the Sheikah and their whereabouts, I remember reading a story that theorizes that the Sheikah were executed by the King soon after the civil war had ended on the behest of Ganondorf to form an allegiance with Hyrule and end the war. Basically since the Sheikah were the Royal Family's shadows and did all their dirty work from spying to assassination, Ganondorf proposed to the king to get rid of the Sheikah if he wanted to end the bloodshed and bring peace to Hyrule. The king conceded and only let Impa live as she was a direct attendant of the queen and by extend Zelda. Though Impa begged the king to have mercy, he still proceeded to execute every single Sheikah, including a young man who was close friends with Impa and was named Sheik (the same Sheik Zelda turns into when hiding from Ganondorf), saying to the people of Hyrule that they were responsible for the war in the first place and betrayed the royal family. This is considered the betrayal of the Royal Family towards the Sheikah and the few who survived added the tear to their eye symbol and left Hyrule for good, leaving only Impa who took care of baby Zelda.
You know it’s a great video when I’m still learning little things 20+ years later. As someone who’s played this game over the course of 2+ decades from when it first came out, the depth of everything in it still blows me away.
I think when you finally tackle Majora's Mask in this format, you will need 200 facts rather than 100. That game is replete with secrets. 20 years and several playthroughs later, I still find new dialogue, situations, etc. There is an entire channel dedicated to it.
Man, this video manages to capture some of the mysterious and amazing aura that the Zelda franchise has, little obscure details that are so missable but really rewarding when discovered and flesh out the world of Hyrule and it’s inhabitants are some of the reasons why Zelda is my favorite franchise ever.
Absolutely loved the format of this vid, the way many of the secrets/easter eggs kinda flowed into the next one. Zeltik’s script writing was always good, but it’s gotten even better over time. Truly top-tier writing 👌
21:24 I prefer the believe that the Poe Merchant is the Kakariko graveyard kid. He's too short & thin to be the guard, he has an interest in the dead and he holds a stick like the kid.
I lived through the OOT era and I go back and play it every so often so I fully expected no big surprises. That is until 8:43 I never realized that guard was back there, I never actually checked the back alleys after Zelda fled.
Crazy Majora's Mask Theory: The owner of the Poe Shop in Ikana Canyon is actually Saria. Since Majora's Mask is the "Child Timeline" Link never visited the Forest Temple and met the Poe Sisters. The Majora's Mask Poes all have the same names and if they really weren't "evil," by Majora's Mask they were probably just looking to go to the Afterlife. Saria always had a connection with the Forest Temple and knew that Link would be visiting Ikana in the near future. That also explains why the Poe Shop owner knows who Link is and doesn't mention how and why the owner will "spare" Link at 3 hearts
Kaepora Gaebora doesn't know about the same informations as Rauru because he is a reincarnation, just like Link doesn't know about the previous Links he was reincarnated from
Love that you ended on the bootstrap paradox. Where DID the song come from indeed? Causality gone mad. Must be why so many secret and mysterious things happen when you play it, the very existence of the tune distorts reality!

I've been on the fence for a while now, debating whether or not to plunk down too much money on eBay for OoT and an N64 to replay it the way I originally did. This video sealed the deal. Nostalgia comes at a price, but it will be worth it. Can't wait to re-experience this Legend the way it's meant to be played, on an N64 and thicc CRT tv.
yep! people have theorized that because of the inverted triforce on his "demon sword" or sort of... blasphemous master sword? that he comes from Lorule.
I wonder if it's some sort of anti master sword, considering Ghirahim, who is the spirit of Demise's sword, is sort of a dark version of Fi, who is the spirit of the master sword.
I think that the drawing of Link fighting the "dinosaur" might not be a prophecy, but an incarnation's memory. Most likely Link fighting the imprisoned.
Now that's dedication. Say, I know of an obscure (and pretty crazy) story from another side of the fandom that's been mostly forgotten and remains mysterious for the most part. I wonder what would be the best way to talk to Zeltik about it, since I'd love him to cover it. Or anyone in Zelda RUclips circle, really.
Zeltik raises the question of who Ganondorf's mother is but what about who is his father? I know having a Gerudo mother automatically makes him born a Gerudo but does that mean he inherited nothing from his father?
This is going to sound nuts but Skyward sword is the prequel to hyrule. The "Evil King" Sky link defeated was beat at the last moment he cursed link and all his descendents saying something sbout his evil "seed" shall forever be their enemies and cursed with his ambition of taking over. Id have to rewatch to see his words ir something but it was something like that. The King of Evil was Ganondorfs Father. Gerudo mixed with curse prophecy produced Ganon.
Well all gerudo are born women but the one man every hundred years. So yeah the kids usually take no genetics from the dad basically. And always look like a gerudo. That's why they have to leave their village to get husbands or boyfriends.

That was my exact interpretation.
"Considering how King Zora and Princess Ruto look, the queen would have had to be quite beautiful"
Damn you didn't have to do the king dirty like that.
I’m not surprised by this information because we do see the shadow/dark versions of each character in Hyrule Warriors.

@@michmill7007 exactly. It's because the only one you ever see without armor is Nabooru.

The close up of the brainwashed Gerudo in the Iron Knuckle armor blew my mind
I remember never realizing that the Fire Temple was meant to be built into the spires of the crater. When I got older and realized it, it blew my mind.
I think the scientific term is "Volcanic plug".
ive put so much hours into this game and i never realised that till today
Yup and it’s the same direction too. When you jump down to get to the fire temple you turn around 180 degrees and run towards the direction of spectacle rock.
@@samd2013 Yes both of those things. The fire temple being inside the spouts of the crater and the fact they are both spectacle rock
Which makes sense based on the kokiri reaction to it asking if you're a forest ghost.
i thought it looked like the lake scientist
What if the poe collector... IS the missing graveyard kid? I never made the connection before today, but.... the stick, the fascination with ghosts and all... It really does make WAY too much sense.
I prefer the theory that the Poe guy is the castle guard who's in that treasury 7 years prior. He talks to young Link about his research into Poes as a hobby.
Yeah it's most likely the guard inside the house with all those pots to smash.
I believe his dialog is more explicit if you talk to him at night.
Can't believe the Kid in the Graveyard became a Skull Kid, that's really sad.
Yes 😭
The switch to SNES accompanied with “A link to the Past” was probably the most impressive advancement I‘ve experience in the video game world…
That was until the “Ocarina of Time” came out on the Nintendo64.
Happy OoT 24th!!!!
wouldnt it be 25 years
Is it just me, or doesn't Phantom Ganon's face look like the skull mask you had to trade as a kid. It just struck me while watching the video.
Could that mean that either the Skullkid became the Phantom, or even the god the Deku Scrubs worship?
I also thought the scientist's head looks like the skull mask. His hair looks like what I thought were horns on the mask
the kokiri remarks the mask looks like a ghost in the forest, phantom ganon could be the result of said ghost or deity being corrupted.
There's stuff in here I didn't know, and Ocarina of Time has been near and very dear to my heart since 1998. Learning secrets I never uncovered, 25 years later, is a treat.
In twilight princess, we have to cross an icy lake to access the snow peak ruins. The lake looks to be the exact same one from Zora’s domain, so unfortunately I don’t think the original domain ever unfroze.
Twilight Princess is set in the Child Timeline. The Domain freezes in the Adult Timeline.
@@JaredtheRabbit Ouch! My mistake, Although it could easily be The original Zora’s domain right? I mean the Zora would have needed a reason to leave their original domain.
@@twistedbroom Maybe

I love it. Ocarina is so rich with lore and backstory. What a masterpiece of a game.
I’m 38 now. I had so much fun playing this for the first time. One of the the few times my dad cheered me on while I beat it
I think with kaepora not knowing about the ability to travel through time is easily explained actually.
Oot being way more deep than almost all games released these days the only game which could compare to it is Majora's Mask
Dark Souls is definitely up there too, probably surpasses it, but it was also made couple generations after
It's nice to see content that isn't Pokémon spoilers. It's even nicer to see content from Zeltik.
I remember when I was 7 the OoT 3d remake came out and it was my first zelda game ever and I was hooked thanks for bringing back some memories
I remember when I was 7 and OoT came out on the N64. I am fully in agreement with the rest of your comment.
If Kaepora Gaebora is Rauru's reincarnation, then that doesn't mean he is the same person with the same memories. Great video though, as always
i think its more a reincarnation of the rauru from skyward sword since they look identical and the gold pendant he wares resembles the owls forehead
@@SuperCoooolman Kaepora Gaebore sometimes flips his head upside down, and his beak becomes Rauru's nose and his eyebrows become Rauru's mustache.

MAN your delivery in this is top notch. sounds like a continuous story and im super immersed
Do majora's mask next!
I never noticed that fact about the redeads. It sounds both terrifying and tragically sad
I didnt know the graveyard kid grows up to be a skull kid. But now it makes sense as you never see an adult version of him when you grow up
21:24 I prefer the believe that the Poe Merchant is the Kakariko graveyard kid.
I played this game when i was like 6 or something on my dads n64, and my god, the nostalgia makes me cry bro
Kaepora Gaebora doesn't know about the same informations as Rauru because he is a reincarnation, just like Link doesn't know about the previous Links he was reincarnated from
I’d love to see a lore secret video for Twilight Princess
Your voice is so calming, and your videos are simply wonderful. Thank you!! 😃

Just something about what OoT did for the gaming world that just hits harder to me. Yeah, others may have done it better, but OoT is the pillar on which the others stood.
@@thepowercreep depends on which OOT, even though it was innovative at the time the n64 version didn't age well and some can see it being hard to return to it rather than its 3ds remake. Other titles such as LTTP and MM and newer titles did do things OOT wanted to do but better either it is gameplay or story. Also from what I've seen it also depends on when you are born it seems (80s-90s LTTP, 90-00 OOT or MM)
@@CyberDragoon656That’s a good point. The 3DS version straight up changes some design choices to make things a little easier/more accessible. Ocarina is amazing…a true masterpiece
"This does mean that Hyrule's entire water supply runs under King Zora's balls."
Actually, that water stays on Zora's domain, as the water goes nowhere else other than the small waterfall within it.
The waterfall OUTSIDE the entrance comes from Jabu jabu's lake, you can confirm this by checking the Hyrule field world atlas.
It's interesting that people who go to Lost Woods end up becoming Stalfos. Makes me wonder who they were in their past lives. Amazing video as always, Zeltik.

4:37 My theory is Link is in a big time loop. It's not a prophetic dream. It's a memory. And hes been sent back by Zelda already a few times.
101: The King of Evil, Ganondorf, after realizing he could just wait for Link to collect the spiritual stones for him, wrote the following words to paper and then stuck it in a bottle to be placed in Lake Hylia:
"Help me.
I am waiting for you inside
Lord Jabu Jabu's belly.
-Ruto.

yep! people have theorized that because of the inverted triforce on his "demon sword" or sort of... blasphemous master sword? that he comes from Lorule.
I wonder if it's some sort of anti master sword, considering Ghirahim, who is the spirit of Demise's sword, is sort of a dark version of Fi, who is the spirit of the master sword.

Do you remember what the story was?
@@obscuregamesshowcase yeah, I do, but I think it's too long for comments.
Also, Zeltik didn't answer on Twitter.
I was getting kind of irritated waiting for payoff about the Kokiri Sword and Deku Sticks, thinking Zeltik was giving way too much context. Then I saw the corner and realized I was on like #12. Now I'm just super impressed with how fluidly he wove all these little factoids together. Bravo, good sir!
