Thanks for putting it simply and definitive. In a society strongly devoted to Mary, there is a thin line between worship and veneration. Though I belive devouted Catholics are well aware of the right order, they are still sometimes accused of "excessive" veneration of Mary, especially by those Catholics thinking in too modern way. There should be no limit in devotion to the greatest Mediatrix to God, just a solid mariology study is needed.

From my understanding, when a Catholic says they worship Mary, all they mean is that they attribute worth to her (dulia). Like in the past it was normal to worship a regent, etc.
I think today, mainly because of protestantism, people have forgotten what the word "worship" really means and hence the confusion is more a matter of modern semantics.

You are correct, but this conflation is seriously scandalous. How does it reflect on someone who 'worships' often outside of Church? How many people might one 'genuflect' to in daily life in the modern day? Actions and terms that became devoted to divine reverence should be treated with clarity in view of the public and one's daily life, haha.

As a staunch Polish Catholic, I do not worship Mary and I've never ever heard a fellow Catholic ever say that they do worship our Mother. We venerate her but nope we don't ever worship anyone but God Almighty and or the Trinity. I will say that I do love our Lady and I do pray to her constantly for her mediation. If we say we adore her cause it might b said in the wrong way, we still do not worship her. Prots always accuse us of idolatry so make another video about how they do not have the sacraments in their gathering's. I won't call it Sabbaths cause for them it can't b. It's a long Bible study with a lotta singing and waving of hands which is not keeping holy the Sabbath period..

We can see the Saints in heaven praying for us in Revelation 5:8. And Saint Paul says we are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses (the Saints) in Heb 12.
There is no Bible verse that commends us to pray to the faithful departed; however, it is a logical conclusion from the Biblical principals.
We can see this expressed clearly in the Fathers. Augustine, Jerome, John Chrysostom and others all say that we should ask for the prayers of the Saints.

Thanks for your reply. I have been looking more into Catholicism recently (baptized catholic as a baby but not a practicing catholic) and I’m genuinely trying to figure out some things. How do you get around 1 Tim 2:5? It seems to be saying that nobody else can intercede on our behalf expect Christ. So that’s why I’m a bit confused about praying to saints. Love your thoughts on this whenever you have time. And thanks again👍🏻👍🏻

Christ is the only one who can mediate peace between God and man due to His divine nature. He is the only mediator in this sense.
However, men can obviously intercede for one another. Christ give us a part in His mediation so that we can help Him to save souls :)

@@Sojourner-ambulareinspiritu In a divine sense, there is no justification nor salvatory mercy without Christ. Christ is the sole intercession which provides for the happiness of the Good News, and in Him and only in Him does all Holiness and saintliness reside.
However, we are called to pray for one another; to confess before our brothers and sisters; taught that Christ is the God of Abraham and Moses; _who are the Living_ with Him in Heaven. Conversation and intercession with those saints that have made themselves extensions of Christ in life is a natural, spontaneous devotion which rests on basic human faculty built upon the economy of faith; that Christ's Word is true in the whole "analogy" (i.e. summation) of the Bible when you put all these and other parts together, and that the cloud of witnesses who rest in divine joy give everything they have to the Lord, just as Our Blessed Lord has shown and told us to do in word and even His Own Action.
I also think it's a case where you should be cautious and think of it this way: there is only one Father, there is only one Rabbi, there is only one Good; so, too, is the Second Person our Only Intercessor to the Father.
      God love you!

I was a die hard atheist before I became pantheist. Pantheism is like atheism, but bearing in mind something incredibly powerful and intelligent created the universe. Spinoza was pantheist and he struggled in life like I struggle. Spinoza against the world and again I against the world. Is pantheism the truth? Is everything that exists God? Does it really matter if the mind is eternal or not? Life is short and the understanding of God offers eternity and a better life here and now. From the moment you understand you are literally God’s Life you become a different person. God is the game to eternal life or death, literally. Our mission is to survive writing a great story in God’s Life and Death. God experience everything, always. God created the universe, why? God is the first eternal reality all the rest came from. Humanity are deceived and we only live once. A good life is a life to make others happy. When we die the question to answer is "did I live to make others happy?". Others is also oneself. Being kind and generous is confused with being someone to take advantage of. I don't like to do favours. This humanity is manipulative. One way favours. People don't understand who I am, that's the problem. I am a poet and artist searching for beauty and tranquility in a horrible and entertaining world. Nobody ever said the world is boring. The world can be anything but boring with humans. Humans are not boring, that's the truth. The truth is humanity are not boring, humanity have defects but being boring is not one of them. So much stuff is going on at the same time, and even if some people are sometimes tremendously boring in general humanity is a captivating show, film, history, who would win the fight? I feel life is a titanic struggle because people are hostile. I feel people don't care. I feel people don't care about reality. Do you want to know what is real and what is not? Was the Quran memorized? What would mean for the future of Islam and atheism if the Quran was not memorized? To end the war the discovery that atheism is a logical fallacy has to be news. The truth is atheism is a logical fallacy that assumes God is the religious idea of the creator of the creation to conclude wrongly no creator exists because a particular idea of God doesn’t exist. Thank you.

@@miamiamia1000 hey so, yes God's omnipotence let's him do as he wills, but it is his infinite love for us that he let's us decide with free will. So he may have done something different as when Judas decided to betray Jesus and God acted upon that. But just as a son obeying his father and that causes something good for the father, it's still appreciated a lot, even if the father could've done it differently without the son. In this case Mary and God.
And in regards to having Mary as mediator, is because of the love that Jesus has for his mother. Just as he accepted his mother's will in the wedding to have him give them more wine, that he said "What that has to do with us, my time hasn't come" and he still accepted, being the first public miracle because of the intercession of Mary for the newlyweds. It is through that love that he has, that he'll listen sooner and consider it more.
Just as if you have a close friend and he loves and respects his mother, you may ask that friend something directly, but he may not do it at the moment or has something different in mind, but if you would ask his mother, because that friend loves and respects her so much, he may reconsider it and take it more into consideration. The same in regards to Mary, she will appeal to Jesus so he considers what we ask even more.
We still talk to Jesus, as we would our friend, but asking for Mary's intercession, is as asking for your mother's friend to talk to him. You still talk to both, but talking to mother helps appeal to him besides your direct communication.

So chill bro, you're confusing yourself with semantics, it's the truth that she was chosen and she accepted to be the servant of God in His plans. That shows a lot of humbleness displayed.
If you had a friend and his mother was a great guide for him, took care of him and helped him, and in the path, her son helped you in your life, even if you didn't know her, just because your friends talks about her in a great light, you'd have great appreciation to his mother, because she helped in his formtaion, not that she is your friend directly, but she helped and dedicated herself so your friend could become what he is.
Now imagine that, but in the case of Mary and Jesus, we're not saying she is Jesus or she is part of the Holy Trinity, but she had a true commitment to God's will and carried baby Jesus in her womb. @@mcgilldi no, it's not, I won't appeal to your arbitrary line of "over the top". She is a human that had free will, and with that free will, she accepted to be a part of God's plan for redemption. So she is co-redemptrix, she, under her free will, willfully accepted to be God's servant, carrying in her womb and bringing into this world the one and only Jesus, the one who redeemed us. She had to have him in his womb, give birth, take care of him, support him in everything, and stay with him until the end, even as to withstand the pain of seeing her borrowed son be tortured and crucified. She not only accepted to carry him, be with him all the way, watch him gorw, and develop the love of a mother for him, knowing he would eventually be killed gruesomely. She could've been selfish, she could've said no from the beginning, or when she knew that him going public was going to lead to his death.
You are the one that has to admit that she, being human, truly devoted herself to all of God's plan for redemption through Jesus, his Son. Accepting in free will to do all for salvation, even if it meant to accept a son, be criticized and possibly killed for having a son that wasn't from his husband, be always loving and caring, support him and his apostles, stay with him during the crucifixion, care for him once dead, stay with his apostles after his death, and then resurrection.
She could've chosen at any of those points to not continue to do God's plan, yet she stayed and obeyed until the end, and not even take any protagonism at all, she was there with the apostoles, and she didn't try to make anything about how she was so devoted and to look at her because she was so humble.
Bro, look at the whole picture, she deserves veneration and respect, even with the rosary and apparitions she always asks to think about Jesus and his love for us in, for the love of the Holy Trinity, not only for her. She is our mother, as appointed by Jesus before he died on the cross and said to Mary regarding John: "Mother, there you have your son", and to John regarding Mary: "Son, there you have your mother".
