  • Mary is blessed among women! Yet, I do not think she would appreciate all the exaltation people have tried to give her. This humble, faithful, blessed woman would likely redirect people to the Lord Jesus.

We only need this one verse

yes! Jesus is, Mediator, Intercessor & Advocate!

      Read the following scriptural references:
      Romans 8:34
Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes INTERCESSION for us.
      Hebrews 7:25
[25]Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make INTERCESSION for them.

@@giannihatzianmevris1861 First off the "co" in co-mediator means "with" and not "equal to" and yup Jesus is mediator, intercessor and advocate, yet what did he say again? "As the father has sent me so i send you". That's our license right there and all of us are meant to mediate, intercede and advocate for others. ?? Revelation 5 - And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.
5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.
8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
      9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
      11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.----- Where nothing stating "There is verse that literially says all prayers go to the saints and angels." and also Revelation 8 nothing - 8 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.
2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.
3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.
5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.
6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.
7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
      8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
      10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.
13 And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound! ?@@sonicrocks2007

When the Lord is angry with Job’s friends because they did not speak rightly about God, he tells them, “Let my servant Job pray for you because I will accept his [prayer], lest I make a terror on you” (Job 42:8).

James says: “Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effects” (James 5:16-17). Thus, according to Scripture, God wants us to pray for one another. This must mean that prayer for one another cannot detract from the role of Jesus Christ as our one mediator with God.

Correct! Although God saved Mary in a unique way, He saved Her nonetheless. Here is what she said:

and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
      for he has been mindful
of the humble state of his servant.

Whenever mankind tries to make God seem inaccessible by placing hierarchies and rituals in the way, I remind myself that a veil was torn when Jesus said ‘It is finished’ and yielded His spirit and deeply reflect on what that means about my relationship with God (more direct than ever). I have plenty of reminders of how unworthy I am for God’s mercy and grace but scripture says that I can approach the throne of God boldly with thanksgiving and praise. I don’t need someone else to do it for me however I do welcome joined prayers from fellowship of other believers in Jesus (people who are alive on earth) and join them in prayer as well for God’s will over our requests and intercession. I can agree with Catholics that Mary is a great woman and her life and story inspire my faith however I’m not praying to Mary nor have I found any scripture to encourage that either. It seems support to do that takes some stretch liberties with scripture and I don’t want to do that. There are plenty of stories of men mistakenly praying/worshiping angels in their presence and angel’s redirecting that glory to God. I think we have a human tendency to worship and glorify things and people that we shouldn’t be and our Father has to reign that in from time to time. Even the early Church got wayward in some of their early practices and Paul had to write letters to help correct and guide and lead us back to Jesus and the Gospel. I know God hears my prayers and have plenty of life testimony to feel rooted in that belief and knowing.

SAINTS are not among the dead, They share in the ressurrection of Jesus: (Protestants attack Biblical saints while they follow dead reformers)
LUKE 23 v 39-43...Jesus told the good thief "today you will be with me in paradise"
REV 19 v 14...when Jesus returns he will be accompanied by his heavenly armies of saints.
2 COR 5 v 8...Paul tells us that to be absent with the body is to be with the Lord.
JOHN 11 v 25-26...Jesus said I am the ressurrection and the life, he who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives, believing in me will never die.
MATTHEW 27: 52 -53: When Jesus was raised from the dead Many were raised up with him.
Luke 1619-30 The story of the rich man and Lazarus show The Rich man, Lazarus and Abraham, all concious and interacting with each other even though they have physically died. Rev 6:10 The souls of the martyrs are before the throne of God, crying out for justice. (they are conscious and actively petitioning God)
HEB 12:1-3 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,
➨ INTERCESSION of the SAINTS: REV 5 v 8...And when he had opened the book, the four living creatureS and the four and twenty ancients fell down before the lamb, having every one of them harps and golden bowls full of incense and the prayers of the saints.
➨RELICS of Saints The veneration of relics is seen explicitly as early as the account of Polycarp’s martyrdom written by the Smyrnaeans in A.D. 156. In it, the Christians describe the events following his burning at the stake: "We took up his bones, which are more valuable than precious stones and finer than refined gold, and laid them in a suitable place, where the Lord will permit us to gather ourselves together, as we are able, in gladness and joy and to celebrate the birthday of his martyrdom."
The use of the bones of Elisha brought a dead man to life: "So Elisha died, and they buried him. Now bands of Moabites used to invade the land in the spring of the year. And as a man was being buried, lo, a marauding band was seen and the man was cast into the grave of Elisha; and as soon as the man touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood on his feet" (2 Kgs. 13: 20-21). This is an unequivocal biblical example of a miracle being performed by God through contact with the relics of a saint!
➨INTERCESSION of a holy person on our behalf: Job 42:8 8 Now therefore take seven bulls and seven rams, and GO TO MY SERVANT Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and MY SERVANT Job SHALL PRAY FOR YOU, FOR I WILL ACCEPT HIS PRAYER NOT TO DEAL WITH YOU ACCORDING TO YOUR FOLLY; for you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has.
➨INTERCESSION of MARY: At the wedding feast at Cana, it was Mary who asked Jesus to help the wedding party.
➨INTERCESSION OF THE SAINTS Rev 5:8 The prayers of the Saints are offered to Jesus the lamb
Mary and the Saints ARE in heaven sharing in the ressurrection and here's proof: ➨SAINTS ARE NOT AMONG THE DEAD: AND THEIR INTERCESSION IS BIBLICAL: They share in the ressurrection of Jesus: (Protestants attack Biblical saints while they follow dead reformers) ● MATTHEW 27: 52 -53: When Jesus was raised from the dead Many were raised up with him. 53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. ● LUKE 23 v 39-43...Jesus told the good thief "today you will be with me in paradise" ● REV 19 v 14...when Jesus returns he will be accompanied by his heavenly armies of saints. ● 2 COR 5 v 8...Paul tells us that to be absent with the body is to be with the Lord. ● JOHN 11 v 25-26...Jesus said I am the ressurrection and the life, he who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives, believing in me will never die. ● LUKE 1619-30 The story of the rich man and Lazarus show The Rich man, Lazarus and Abraham, all concious and interacting with each other even though they have physically died. ● LUKE 9:30-31 And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias: 31 Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, ● MATT 17:1-13 ...At the Transformation of Jesus, he is seen speaking to Moses and Elijah, further showing that Holy ones of God are not among the dead. ➨HONOURING MARY: LUKE 1:48: All generations will call Mary Blessed. We Catholics are the ones who call her the BLESSED Virgin Mary and treat her accordingly. ➨NOWHERE does the bible permit protestants (or anyone else) to Scrutinize & monitor the prayers of other people, nor to judge their sincerity or their salvation. The interesting thing you realize when you read the Gospels from start to finish is how Mary doesn't really factor in the story as much as you'd expect. She is barely mentioned in Matthew or Mark, and is only mentioned a couple times in John. It's only in Luke that you get the nativity story, but Mary's role in Luke diminishes precipitously after that. You'd think that if Mary was meant to be such an important figure in a person's Christian life, the Word of God would say a lot more about her.

As someone who was raised in the Catholic church and has now been born again, I can say that as I now understand it, God wants a personal relationship with us. When Jesus teaches the apostles how to pray, he taught them to refer to God as Father, and when Jesus himself prays and says "Abba Father", which would translate more closely to "Papa" or "Daddy". So with that in mind, He does not want us go through others to ask for them to speak to Him on our behalf. He wants us to come to him directly like a child would to his father.

The Council of Trent declared: 😂😂
“ . . . if they [men] were not born again in Christ, they would never be justified, since in that new birth there is bestowed upon them, through the merit of His passion, the grace by which they are made just . .
He laid down the conditions of salvation thus: "He that believeth and is baptized," said the Son of the Living God, "shall be saved, but he that believeth not shall be condemned" (Luke 16:16). Here, then, Our Blessed Lord laid down the two conditions of salvation: Faith and Baptism. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believeth not shall be condemned - or is damned
Catholics not Born again Justin who died for his faith said in 151 A.D.
“As many as are persuaded and believe that what we [Christians] teach and say is true . . . are brought by us where there is water and are regenerated in the same manner in which we were ourselves regenerated. For, in the name of God the Father . . . and of our Savior Jesus Christ, and of the Holy Spirit [Matt. 28:19], they then receive the washing with water. For Christ also said,‘Unless you are born again, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven’ [John 3:3]” (First Apology 61).
Around 190 A.D., Irenaeus, the bishop of Lyons, wrote, “And [Naaman] dipped himself . . . seven times in the Jordan’ [2 Kgs. 5:14]. It was not for nothing that Naaman of old, when suffering from leprosy, was purified upon his being baptized, but [this served] as an indication to us. For as we are lepers in sin, we are made clean, by means of the sacred water and the invocation of the Lord, from our old transgressions, being spiritually regenerated as newborn babes, even as the Lord has declared: ‘Except a man be born again through water and the Spirit, he shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven’ [John 3:5]” (Fragment 34).
In the year 252 A.D., Cyprian, the bishop of Carthage, said that when those becoming Christians “receive also the baptism of the Church . . . then finally can they be fully sanctified and be the sons of God . . . since it is written, ‘Except a man be born again of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God’ [John 3:5]” (Letters 71[72]:1).
Augustine wrote, “From the time he [Jesus] said, ‘Except a man be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven’ [John 3:5], and again, ‘He that loses his life for my sake shall find it’ [Matt. 10:39], no one becomes a member of Christ except it be either by baptism in Christ or death for Christ” (On the Soul and Its Origin 1:10 [A.D. 419]).
Augustine also taught, “It is this one Spirit who makes it possible for an infant to be regenerated . . . when that infant is brought to baptism; and it is through this one Spirit that the infant so presented is reborn. For it is not written, ‘Unless a man be born again by the will of his parents’ or ‘by the faith of those presenting him or ministering to him,’ but, ‘Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit’ [John 3:5]. The water, therefore, manifesting exteriorly the sacrament of grace, and the Spirit effecting interiorly the benefit of grace, both regenerate in one Christ that man who was generated in Adam” (Letters 98:2 [A.D. 408]).
ONE LORD ONE FATIH ONE BAPTISM “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all” (Ephesians 4:4-6) The one baptism (and the only valid baptism), is the baptism of the one faith, the baptism authorized by the one Lord and practiced by the one body, the church of Christ. “For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body” (1 Corinthians 12:13).

I just listened to Daniel on how it’s COMPLETLY unbiblical to pray to her and saints. It made complete sense. I feel so bad. Also, we only need God/Jesus as our mediator, because He is the one who died for our sins. He wants us to act like we are saved and have faith like we are saved, not needing to have to do 10 Hail Mary prayers after confession. I like this video because it is biblical.

Regarding prayer, as a Catholic we believe we are commissioned by the Lord to pray for one another, with the church on Earth and in Heaven. James 5:16 “confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful.” 1 John 5:16 “If anyone sees his brother sinning, if the sin is not deadly, he should pray to God and he will give him life.”
Thus, we ask one another to pray for us and we pray for one another as Christians. This prayer is efficacious, in that it is not useless or ineffective, but actually is a part of our baptism at 1 Peter 4:10-11 “As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of god’s varied [manifold] grace. 11 Whoever preaches, let it be with the words of God; whoever serves, let it be with the strength that God supplies, SO THAT IN ALL THINGS God may be glorified through Jesus Christ” so that “by the word of God, what is seen is not made out of what is visible” (Heb 11:3) and this word is Jesus Christ working through us because as at John 1:14-17 “he is the word became flesh . . . the Father’s only Son, FULL OF GRACE AND TRUTH . . . Grace and Truth came through Jesus Christ” . . . and continues to do so through us as stewards of God’s manifold grace (Mt. 10:7-11; Rev 1:5-6; 1 Peter 4:10).
By our Baptism we are united into one body (Eph 4:4-6 4 “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all”). We are all united in God’s spirit (Colossians 1:16, “in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him”).
It is his spirit that draws us to pray for and request prayer from one another. As Catholics we do not believe this stops because of death, but rather death is overcome and when we ask those who have died or not yet died to pray for us, we do so by means of the one body of our baptism. After-all, it is not us who pray, but rather the Holy Spirit who intercedes with inexpressible groanings (Rom 8:26), and the gates of hell will not withstand us (Mt 16:18).
Thus, we view prayer not necessarily as worship alone, but rather also in communication to one another and God to continue building the Kingdom of God. Today, for example, we make a prayer to court when we file a motion or request; it is a prayer for relief. As such, prayers to angels, guardian angels, saints, or our dead are done to ask for assistance or further prayer to God, just as we would one another alive on earth, and not as a form of worship that is reserved to God, his Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit as one God in three persons alone. Rather, it is done in and within one body in communion with Christ as our Leader and Savior (Acts 5:30-32) by the Holy Spirit so that Hebrews 12:1 “since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us”.
Thus, let me just say, asking for prayer to one another is not done in a vacuum, but rather it is done as brothers and sisters who worship Christ and him alone for allowing ourselves “to be like living stones, being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 2:5), as part of our true family in God (Mt 12:50 whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother).
Asking for the assistance of angels is also done through Jesus and in his body, His people, the Church because in Jesus “we will judge angels” (1 Cor 6:3) and it is these angels that “are ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation” (Heb 1:14). And thus as ministers of grace in Jesus Christ, as priests called to sacrifice for one another and to the glory of our eternal Father, we call forth angels to minister for one another as well.

Dear brother, Mary is already resting with Jesus in Heaven. She doesn't need to strain herself to listen to the prayers of those who believe in Christ, nor can she do so-she is only human, not God! This is not about worshiping Mary, but about recognizing that she is only human and cannot hear all those who pray to her! Because only Christ, God, the Holy Spirit, Omnipresent and Almighty, only Christ hears us all at once and answers us. Can you imagine if 1.5 billion Catholics were to turn to Mary simultaneously, do you think Mary Almighty and Omnipresent would hear everyone and pray to Jesus for them? This is simply heresy, brother. God fills all in all, not Mary! Moreover, the Old Testament condemns communication with the dead, it was said-communication with the dead is an abomination before God, so one might mistake Mary's appearance for an appearance of Satan or a demon in the guise of Mary (or an angel of light), and you'll become another Joseph Smith, rejecting all Christian denominations and creating your own religion as a false prophet; these are the consequences of communicating with the dead. God forbade any form of communication with the dead; through this, Satan or a demon can bring deception and many problems. Like communicating with deceased relatives-it's occultism. So why open the door to demonic forces through communication with the dead? Scripture clearly states that the mediator between God and humans is Jesus, so why do we need a mediator between Jesus and us if Jesus is not Allah of Muhammad, who is somewhere far away, but Jesus Christ lives in us with His Spirit and hears us? Mary does not have such authority, tasks, and responsibilities-Jesus and the Apostles do not teach such things! If you ask church ministers to pray for you (living church ministers, living on earth at the moment), that is normal, scripture does not condemn it but speaks of it as a normal practice, but praying to the dead and asking the dead to pray to Jesus for you is, first of all, an abomination before God, secondly, it diminishes the role of the Holy Spirit and Jesus, and thirdly, it smells of occultism, dear ones. Finally, understand this, Catholics. May the Lord abundantly bless you and open your eyes. I love you. The love of Christ and the communion of the Holy Spirit, His grace and mercy be with us all. Amen.

@@Littleangel_-jp4xb "Prayers to Mary" are asking for her intercession. The original meaning of the word "pray" is "to ask" as in the English phrase, "pray tell." Nothing in any of those prayers suggests that Mary can answer them. She can only take our prayers to God, and it's up to Him how He will answer.
Were you taught where the Bible came from? (I wasn't. Catechesis has been poor for the past 50-60 years thanks to Modernists taking over and watering down the teachings). The councils of the Catholic Church did it. We didn't have a closed canon for over 300 years after Christ's death, books were expensive (hand printed until the 1500's) and the majority of the population couldn't read anyway. Culture of the time was that education was only necessary for government leaders and clergy. Education for all is originally a Catholic idea. So are hospitals.
The Assumption of Mary and her crowned Queen of Heaven was believed from the beginning. Martin Luther didn't change that. He agreed with it. No one questioned it, though it wasn't made dogma until 1950. The Church guides us through cultural changes and needs to reiterate teachings when heresies arise against what was always believed.
NO Catholic believes Mary determines salvation. She can intercede for us, (like asking any friend to pray for us) but again, it's all up to God to decide.
"Nowhere in Scripture" again and again. "Scripture alone" was unheard of before the Protestant Revolution. It wouldn't have been possible before the invention of the printing press and increased literacy. If Christianity had been dependent on written words alone from the beginning, it wouldn't have lasted long. "By word of mouth or by letter" (as the Bible tells us) includes Sacred Traditions (different from "traditions of men") that are just as sacred as Sacred Scripture.

What do you think the majority of the early Christians did, with no printing press, no books of any kind in their possession, because they were expensive and most people couldn't read anyway? If the only way to pass down the faith was through written words (we didn't even have a closed canon of Scripture for over 300 years, and it was the councils of the Catholic Church that did it) Christianity would not have lasted long. The faith was handed down by word of mouth and by letter (not only by letter), according to Paul's letter.

As a Catholic who was at one Protestant, I get the many ways we talk past each other and the different language we use. That said, Catholicism is a very relational practice of Christianity. A couple of things that might be helpful to note - 1) We agree there is one salvific mediator between God and man - Jesus. 2) We believe that ultimately any grace bestowed on Christians is through the power of God, and because of that there is no requirement to pray to anyone other than Jesus/God. However, there’s no reason not to ask for help and guidance from the entire body of Christ, both those on Earth and those alive in heaven. Asking for intercession is not necromancy or conjuring up spirits. We respect the saints and mother of Christ, even as Luther recognized. This is a different worldview to protestants, yes. But this is also how the Church has functioned throughout history. We do not view God as in competition with His creation, especially when they act as conduits to God’s glory (Is 26:12). I am sorry for anyone who has had a poor experience with the Church and I pray for reconciliation for those who left the Church and that one day we may be one again.

You intend well but realistically no one except God has omniscience or omnipresence to be able to hear all of these prayers. The only way they can do so is if God tells them. I don't need anything supernatural to ask a friend to pray to God. They are right there. Huge difference.
We who have relationship with God do go directly in all cases. It's more of a just be honest and realistic. Catholicism is hung up on the word protestant (which means nothing to me) and all sorts of trivial things to try to hide its sins and covering up poor judgement to attempt to appear correct. My faith is not defined by those opinions but rather what the Spirit guides and instructs me to do. Certainly direct prayer to the dead is a man made tradition. Outside of Christianity, it is prayer to the ancestors. If I desire to communicate with the departed, it's humbly leaving it to God to give the message. Angels pick up the prayer in the bowl and uplift ( greek word is Echo it ) and give it to God then Angels come and respond to it by sending fire and wrath.
We also see that intercessor is the role of Christ, the holy spirit but the church in scripture. We are to intercede for another. It is said. Why would we stop intercepting once died? Did christ when he die stop interceding surely not.
People are also confused mediator and intercessor. Mediator is christ alone. Dear beloved brother, all christians honor Mary this way according to the Scriptures correctly. God magnified Mary, that is, glorified her, but did not make her the fourth Person of the Trinity Almighty and Omnipresent. There is no point in praying to Mary for the reason that she does not hear us, she cannot do this, she is a human, she is died, she is not God who is omnipresent and Almighty, she can generally intercede with God for us, but she cannot hear you personally or anyone else, especially if you both are praying at the same time, one is in Russia and the other is in the USA. How can she do this? She's not GOD Omnipresent! As one brother said: if Mary's role were so important in mediating between man and God, then Christ and the Apostles would have certainly said about it. The human heart is prone to idolatry.
Mary is already resting with Jesus in Heaven. She doesn't need to strain herself to listen to the prayers of those who believe in Christ, nor can she do so - she is only human, not God! This is not about worshiping Mary, but about recognizing that she is only human and cannot hear all those who pray to her! Because only Christ, God, the Holy Spirit, Omnipresent and Almighty, only Christ hears us all at once and answers us. Can you imagine if 1 billion Catholics were to turn to Mary simultaneously, do you think Mary Almighty and Omnipresent would hear everyone and pray to Jesus for them? This is simply heresy, bro. God fills all in all, not Mary!
Moreover, the Old Testament condemns communication with the dead, it was said - communication with the dead is an abomination before God, so one might mistake Mary's appearance for an appearance of Satan or a demon in the guise of Mary (or an angel of light), and you'll become another Joseph Smith (mormons), rejecting all Christian denominations and creating your own religion as a false prophet; these are the consequences of communicating with the dead. God forbade any form of communication with the dead; through this, Satan or a demon can bring deception and many problems. Like communicating with deceased relatives - it's occultism. Do not open the door to demonic forces through communication with the dead? Scripture clearly states that the mediator between God and humans is Jesus, so why do we need a mediator between Jesus and us if Jesus is not inaccessible and distant Allah of Muhammad, who is somewhere far away, but Jesus Christ lives in us with His Spirit and hears us?
But Mary does not have such authority, tasks, and responsibilities - Jesus and the Apostles do not teach such things! If you ask church ministers to pray for you (humans who alive and living on earth at this moment), that is normal, scripture does not condemn it but talks about it as a normal practice, but praying to the dead and asking the dead to pray to Jesus for you is, first of all, an abomination before God, secondly, it diminishes the role of the Holy Spirit and Jesus, and thirdly, it smells of occultism, dear ones. Finally, understand this, Catholics. May the Lord abundantly bless you and open your eyes. I love you. The love of Christ and the communion of the Holy Spirit, His grace and mercy be with us all. Amen.

Have you ever listened to the words of the most used Marian prayer of all, the Hail Mary?
*** "Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee." ***
This is nothing more than the salutation of Gabriel in Luke 1:28.
*** "Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb (Jesus)." ***
That is Elizabeth's greeting to Mary in Lk 1:42.
***"Holy Mary, mother of GOD." ***
She is a saint which makes her holy, and she is the Mother of GOD, because Elizabeth calls her the 'Mother of Our Lord' in Lk 1:43. Also if you take Jn 1:1 "...and the Word was GOD', and add it to Jn 1:14, "...and the Word was made flesh", GOD was made flesh, and who was His mother? Mary!
*** "Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen." ***
This is nothing more than petitioning Mary to PRAY FOR US, just like in the Bible verses I presented. Do we 'pray to' Mary, or are we only petitioning her to pray for us?
Rom 15:30, "...help me by your prayers to GOD for me."
Col 1:9, "This is why we too have been praying for you unceasingly."
1Thes 3:10, "Night and day we pray more and more..."
2Thes 1:11, "To this end we pray always for you."
2Thes 3:1, "In conclusion brethren, pray for us..."
Jam 5:16, "...and pray for one another that you may be saved."
Rev 8:3-4 "...that he may offer it with the prayers of all the saints..."
According to Scripture, are the saints in Heaven dead or alive?
Now the next question is, 'Yes, but it is repetitious (the Rosary) and that is forbidden by scripture'. (Mt 6:7)
OK, look at the entries listed above which have the asterisk (*) in front of them.
Are not Col 1:9, "This is why we have been praying for you unceasingly...", 1Thes 3:10, "Night and day we pray more and more...", and 2Thes 1:11, "To this end we pray always for you...", repetitious? Is this one of those so called 'Bible Conflicts' you hear about from time to time?
      No, not at all.
The answer is that the Bible refers to two types of prayer repetition '(V)ain', in the manner of heathens, and '(U)seful', NOT in the manner of heathens.
      The Rosary is not vain repetition. Here is a list of some in each category that you can check in your Bible. (V) 1King 18:25-29, (U) Isa 6:3, (U) Dan 3:52-90, (V) *Mt 6:7, (U) Mt *26:44, (U) *Lk 6:12, (U) Lk 18:1,9-14,*21:36, (U)*Col 1:9, (U) 1Thes 3:10,5:17, (U) *Jam 5:16, (U) **Rev 4:8
Many non-Catholics have the false belief that praying to "dead" people is useless. This is a mis-interpretation of what Holy Scripture teaches us, for the Blessed Virgin Mary and others who have gone on before us are not dead but live forever.👍👍

I would reframe the question into 2 questions: Is it alright for me to ask you to pray for me? I am going to assume you said “yes”. Is it ok to ask Mary to pray for me? If you say “No”, then you have elevated yourself more worthy than Mary. Every prayer of Mary’s must go thru Jesus. Every prayer of Mary’s must go through Jesus. That is what the Catholic Church teaches. What did the Arch Angel say greeting Mary? “Hail Mary full of grace. The Lord is with you, blessed art thou and blessed is thy womb”. Mary is the Mother of those who are born again. We are baptized into the Body of Christ. If you cling to Eve as your mother? You have not been born again. There are people who do not have recourse to Mary. What?? This too is a teaching of the Catholic Church. Is it due to Spiritual weakness or Spiritual strength? I do not know. When or if we get to Heaven, ask. 🎚

Dear beloved brother, there is no point in praying to Mary for the reason that she does not hear us, she cannot do this, she is a human, she is died, she is not God who is omnipresent and Almighty, she can generally intercede with God for us, but she cannot hear you personally or anyone else, especially if you both are praying at the same time, one is in Russia and the other is in the USA.
Amen.

In apprehending God, one may make a good argument that they see what God sees in the beatific vision. It's an assent to the knowledge of God as he is, which is what he himself sees, but only with the unalterable limitations of the created intellect and God's own will to hide certain things from the saints. You can know God but not fully comprehend him, it's simply not possible, and neither will we comprehend all things in him perfectly, so we will presumably learn for all eternity. What fun! So, I don't doubt they see us, and hear about what we're doing, and much much more than that. Or rather, I don't doubt that they can, and perhaps do on occasion. Anybody's guess what it's actually like though. Still not reason to pray to them.

What are , the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders doing with . Those Prayers in their hands the prayers of the holy ones. Why did God give those Prays to them to Give them to Him 9When he broke open the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar 8 the souls of those who had been slaughtered because of the witness they bore to the word of God.10 cried out in a loud voice, "How long will it be, holy and true master, 9 before you sit in judgment and avenge our blood on the inhabitants of the earth?"11Each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to be patient a little while longer until the number was filled of their fellow servants and brothers who were going to be killed as they had been.
This Makes It Know to those Saints In Heaven That God would avenge the saints On earth at a Further tine The lord can Make know to those in heaven what happens on earth at a future time They are Now aware of thing going on Now do you think since they pray to the Lord they would not be praying to the Lord for their Brothers and Sisters of their fellow servants and brothers who were going to be killed as they had been to preserve them as the others had been . Why does he say this
“Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven.
What does that mean the Angles are assigned to these children to watch over them and pray for them. They go before the father and Intercede for them .

Do you think it was helpful to them that she knew what was happening because she had been overshadowed 30 years earlier? And while the disciples had three years with Him, Mary had 33 years. Do you think maybe they asked her some questions about Him after the ascension? Yeah, me too.

Did Paul not say For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ??? Even replacing eve argumentatively seems out of character with scripture. Its about correcting Adam, not eve.
Mary as the new Ark, thats obvious in logic, but the original ark wasn’t a focal point but a carrier. The cloud of God was above the Ark. all bowed to the cloud presence of God, not the ark. The original Ark carried scripture, Gods truth, not God himself. Today wouldn’t the new ark be the pillar and foundation of the Truth?

    • @bibleman8010
      @bibleman8010 7 месяцев назад

so much for you BS you cant even complete the sentence 🤷‍♀🤷‍♀
In fact 1 Tim. 2:5-6 says: “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”1
Now let’s take a look at what St. Paul wrote in the preceding four verses: “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men.” (1 Tim. 2:1) St. Paul is telling Timothy and all disciples of Jesus Christ that they are supposed to offer supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanks on behalf of all men. In short, Paul says Christians are to play a mediating role.
Next verse, picks up after “for all men”: “For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.” (1 Tim. 2:2) St. Paul is making clear, not only are we to make prayers of intercession, supplication, etc. on behalf of all mankind, but even those in authority over us, such as kings! Why does St. Paul exhort Timothy and all Christisns to play this mediating role?
Verse 3: “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour.” (1 Tim. 2:3) Who is “God our Saviour”? Jesus Christ, of course. Paul is saying quite explicitly that the mediation he is exhorting us to make “is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour,” in the sight of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
So now we get to verse 4, which tells us why Jesus Christ would desire this from us: “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”(1 Tim. 2:4) The reason we ought to make these various prayers of mediation is because Jesus Christ desires, “all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
And now we come to verse 5, not cherry-picked out of context but within the context of St. Paul’s first letter to Timothy, chapter 2, verses 1-6: “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” (1 Tim. 2:5-6)
In short, 1 Tim. 2:1-6 instructs all Christians to mediate on behalf of all mankind through different types of prayer, which are offered through the one mediator Jesus Christ. And in order to assuage any doubt about this, St. Paul adds: “Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity. I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.” (1 Tim. 2:7-8)
So is St. Mary, Jesus’ Mother a mediator via Jesus Christ? Are the other saints in Heaven mediating on behalf of those on earth, via Jesus Christ? John 2:3, 5 gives a good example of Mary playing a mediating role in Jesus’ ministry: “the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine…His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.” The Book of Revelation suggests the saints in Heaven also play a mediating role: “and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus,” the martyrs. (Rev. 20:4) And even moreso in Rev. 4:10-11, “The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” And quite explicitly, Rev. 5:8, “and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.”
And so, whereas Jesus Christ is the one mediator between God and man, St. Paul correctly understood that all Christians are called to share in this mediation of Christ through the offering of “supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks…made for all men.” (1 Tim. 2:1)🤦‍♂🤦‍♂

Catholics love and agree fully with that verse. However, we also know the shortcoming of this approach. Looking at scripture more fully, we recognize that we are called to share in the priesthood of all believers:
You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 2:5)
You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. (1 Peter 2:9)
A priest, by definition, is called to be a mediator between God and men. In a limited way, each of us, as priests, are called to this role and to be mediators for others before God through Jesus. Therefore, if we are all called to be mediators and intercessors for one another, how much more can this be said of the Virgin Mary, Mother of God, who said, “Yes” to God and brought Jesus into the world?

What did Mary do at the annunciation? She did the will of God by saying yes to him. Therefore in this verse, Jesus affirms Mary as his mother. Protestants keep on misinterpreting this verse over and over again as some kind of disowning of Mary by Jesus, but this interpretation presumes that Mary is some sort of disobedient vagrant who is excluded from Jesus' requirement for being in his family (i.e. doing the will of God). Catholics may say it's not praying but you are talking to people who have passed and asking them to help you in some way. Mary is not just a saint, she is the Ark of the New Covenant, The NT Gebirah-Queen Mother, Daughter of Zion and the woman of revelation that is why we pray for her protection and intercession.

1- The Church is the body of Christ
2- There is only one body of Christ, not one on earth and another one in heaven.

Catholics love and agree fully with that verse. However, we also know the shortcoming of your reasoning.

The c9nte " tye context of that verse is his Redemption as the very next verse explains," who have himself a Redemption for all". He is the one mediator of redemption. This doesn't mean intercession is bad though otherwise we couldn't pray for others. And paul in the very first of that chapter says," I desire therefore that supplications, prayers, INTERCESSIONS be made for all men.... for these are good and acceptable in the sight of God our savior, who will have all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth". Then he follows later explaining christ as one mediator. This proves that intercessions dint conflict with his one mediatorship since they are about participating in it.

Genuine question, and I won't reply if you decide to answer.
How do you know your father or anyone in heaven can't hear you? Where in the Bible does it say people in heaven can't hear us?
Revelations 6: 9-11 shows the people in heaven are aware of the events on earth when martyrs prayed to God for the persecutions to stop. Revelations 5:8 shows people in heaven are aware of our prayers when they present our prayers to God.

      Rev 6:
And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
Revelation is full of symbolism so we must be careful of taking symbolism literally, with the effect that it contradicts plainly stated scriptural truth.
The bible is clear that the dead remain dead in every sense until the physical resurrection.
This commentary on the saints in heaven in Rev 6 is not to be taken literally. If so, then one must conclude that the souls of the dead live under an altar. With all the glories of heaven, they are destined to live under an altar.
And their only knowledge of the world according to this text is that they know that their martyrdom is yet to be avenged. Why assume from this that they know of every act taking place on earth!
      Rev 5:
And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
It is not clear from context who the elders represent. Are they angels?
They have bowls symbolically containing the prayers of the saints.
The bible calls all believers saints.
These prayers were said by living believers, with this vision showing that their prayers do indeed reach God.
It is a complete departure to claim that the prayers were offered to dead saints in heaven, for them to pass them on to God.

      Revelations 5:
The incents are more than symbolism. They are our prayers. Something can be symbolic and real in reality.
The Bible is clear that the elders are not angels. Revelations 8:5 says angels did the same thing elders did in 5:8 (present a bowl of indents (prayers) to God). Also, elders were never referred to as elders. Men were always referred to as elders.
No one ever said prayers are offered to dead Saints in heaven. That wasn't the point I made. The point of Revelation 5:8 is that the Saints in heaven are aware of our prayers because they are presenting our prayers to God. If they are aware of our prayers, why can't they pray for us as well?
Also, prayers to Saints in heaven doesn't teach that our prayers are offered to Saints. It simply means we are asking the Saints in heaven to pray for us like how we ask Saints on earth to pray for us. Why is that going over people’s heads?
      Revelations 6:
I believe Revelations is both symbolic and teaches what is reality. You said we shouldn't take Revelations literally to avoid contradicting what is plainly in Scripture.
What Bible verse (clearly) states that people in heaven are not aware of the events on earth?
Even you acknowledge the Saints in Heaven are aware their martyrdom hasn't been avenged. They are aware of something on earth, and they are not living under the alter.
If God allows angelic beings and the devil to know the events of the living, why can't God allow the Saints in heaven to at least be aware of the events in the living realm?
If God allows the devil to personally attack us, why can't God allow the Saints in Heaven to be aware of the events I the living realm?

The words of the first part of the Hail Mary are words addressed to her by the angel Gabriel and her relative Elizabeth. The second part is merely a request for the mother of God to pray for us.
    But most important of all: the whole point (the context) of the Hail Mary is not Mary but the incarnation of Jesus. Without the incarnation, we would have no Our Father. If Jesus had not taken flesh in her womb, we would necver have heard of her. So whenever we pray the Hail Mary, we are professing our faith in Jesus, the Word made flesh. As she said to Elizabeth, her soul magnifies the Lord;
everything about her speaks of God.👍👍

There are many Catholic stories and legends of people actyally contacting saints or receiving apparitions of them that are quite convincing and seem to give good fruits. On the flip side some of the prayers to Mary seem VERY disrespectful towards God too. Calling her savior of the world, people giving up their souls and laying their salvations on her hands and other such things, are honestly frightening to me whenever I witness them in my parish. So what do I do? I know one thing for certain. Nobody in the Bible prays to the saints. If Apostles can be good Christians without praying to the saints, so can I.

Reading through Catholic history, as I've not had first-hand experience like you, I've found many highly offensive examples of idolatry being practiced by lay-catholics that went entirely un-chastised by the magisterium. What's worse is they didn't just turn a blind eye to it, they outright fostered and encouraged it, using it to exploit the church, giving them specific prayers to pray in certain parts of the world on certain days for specific "limited-time only" blessings. Certainly leaves a bad taste in one's mouth.

As a Catholic, you should be aware of the fact that Catholic Teachings on Praying to the Saints and Calling for Mary’s intercession is not sin, here is biblical evidence: In a dream, God commanded King Abimelech to ask Abraham to intercede for him: “For [Abraham] is a prophet and he will pray for you, so you shall live” (Gen. 20:7). When the Lord is angry with Job’s friends because they did not speak rightly about God, he tells them, “Let my servant Job pray for you because I will accept his [prayer], lest I make a terror on you” (Job 42:8).
SECONDLY: The faith of the Church is that the saints are not really dead, but are fully alive in Jesus Christ, who is life itself (John 11:25; 14:6) and the bread of life who bestows life on all who eat his flesh and drink his blood (John 6:35, 48, 51, 53-56). The saints are alive in heaven because of the life they have received through their faith in Christ Jesus and through their eating of his body and blood.
The book of Revelation shows the saints worshipping God, singing hymns, playing instruments, making requests to Christ to avenge their martyrdom, and offering prayers for the saints on earth (Rev. 4:10, 5:8, 6:9-11).
3RD: Does the Bible say we should approach the saints with our prayers? Yes, in two places. In Revelation 5:8 John saw the Lamb, Christ Jesus, on a throne in the midst of four beasts and 24 elders. When the Lamb took the book with the seven seals, the 24 elders fell down before the Lamb in worship, “each one having a harp and golden bowls of incenses, which are the prayers of the saints.”
Similarly, in Revelation 8:3-4 we are told that something similar happened when the Lamb opened the seventh seal of the book: “Another angel came and stood on the altar, having a golden censer, and many incenses were given to him, in order that he will give it with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar before the throne. And the smoke of the incenses went up with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel before God.”
Ok now that we have proven that praying for intercession of Saints is good, especially Mary, one more evidence specially for intercession of Mary is Wedding at Cana, now about disturbing prayers to Mary, honestly I think if you knew Catholic teachings on Mary you would not feel disturbed, biblical evidence for Mary being our Mother is found when Jesus was on the Cross, as evidence for her being Queen is found in revelation plus the fact that The Mother of king of the Jews at around the time of David was the Queen, so we should Honor and venerate her, as for giving her their souls etc, I think you Mean Holy Slavery to Mary, you go to Jesus through Mary, Mary being the Queen and our Mother will help us reach to Jesus, this does not mean that She is more important then Jesus, NO, because we only Worship Jesus and Love him above everything else. Mary leads us to Jesus.
If you have any further concerns of Catholic teachings, ask me more I can help if you want, beware of feeling worried, feelings are not always accurate to leading us to truth, the devil will tempt us in any way or feelings to get us out of Catholicism.

Mary was a Godly and obedient woman, wife and mother. She is an example for women on how to walk as a woman of God. That is what she is, and nothing more. She can't do anything for anyone other than be an example like other Godly and obedient women in Scripture. Why do we need an intercession through anyone when Jesus IS the bridge for humanity to God? We don't. We each have direct access to Christ without needing anything or anyone else. We have the Holy Spirit indwelling inside of us as saved Christians. There is no need to seek help from the dead. God Bless 🥰

Catholics are fooled by the deception of praying to the Blessed Virgin Mary and the other saints even though Jesus said I’m the way. Most Catholics treat Jesus as only a way instead of The Only Way. Amen.

Believers who are already in heaven have their own tasks and they do this on their own behalf without being intermediaries between God and people, there is no such thing in scripture, they pray on their own behalf saying: “How much longer to wait, Lord?” No one from them is praying for Barbara or Steve, they are praying for the Church as a whole, the Body of Christ. Because God is Wise and Merciful and does not let other people know that that person done when he was a sinner so as not to disgrace him, but God Himself accepts the prayers of this person and keeps them secret. And if a person stands firmly in faith, no one will know what that person once did. That is why believers and those who love Christ do not come to the Judgment. Only those who abandoned Christ will be disgraced at the trial. But Saints and Mary is Human. Diid u understand what I mean?
On earth, believers have their own tasks for the Church, but we do not pray for the dead, because scripture says: “One day a person is destined to die, and then the Judgment.” There is no way to pray for those who have already died.
Also there is no purgatory, that is not a biblical teaching, dear.
What are you talking about? May the Lord open the eyes of your heart, May He give understanding to you!

@@blappappa3836 could you provide any scriptural information for any claims you made?
Praying to Mary & the Saints is unbiblical!
There's a difference between asking family or friends to pray For you, to praying To dead people!
Jesus is both Mediator & Intercessor. If Jesus is sufficient for both those roles then why do we need to pray to Mary or one of the saints, who by the way, are dead and departed?
Yes, they are alive in heaven, however, there is no scriptural basis for praying to them, rather the opposite is true!
Intercession is biblical for you and I who are living, to pray FOR one another, but not to pray to departed people. The saints in heaven may be privy to the prayers of the saints on earth. However, nowhere in scripture are we instructed to pray To Them!
The Bible actually instructs us to call on God not the Dead!
Isaiah 8:19-20 Someone may say to you, “Let’s ask the mediums and those who consult the spirits of the Dead. With their whisperings and mutterings, they will tell us what to do.” But shouldn’t people ask God for guidance? Should the living seek guidance from the Dead? Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark.
By praying To them, we are taking the attributes of God and placing them on mere humans! Only God is Omnipresent(everywhere at once), Omniscient(knowing everything at all times), Omnipotent(all powerful) & Omnibenevolent(supremely Holy & Good).
If the word of God tells us to come to Him directly, then why do we need to pray to anyone else???
Take a look at the following scriptural references:
      Romans 8:34
[34]Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes INTERCESSION for us.
      Hebrews 4:14-16
[14]Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
[15]For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
[16]Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
      Hebrews 7:23-27
[23]Also there were many priests, because they were prevented by death from continuing.
[24]But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood.
[25]Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make Intercession for them.
      [26]For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens;
[27]who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the people’s, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself.
      1 Timothy 2:5
[5]For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,
      Acts 4:12
[12]Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Jeremiah 29:12-13 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 33:3 Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.
      Philippians 4:6-7
      [6]Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
[7]and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
      Romans 8:26-27
[26]Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
[27]Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
      Matthew 6:6,9-15
[6]But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
[9]In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
[10]Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
[11]Give us this day our daily bread.
[12]And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.
[13]And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
[14]“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
[15]But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
      1 John 5:14-15
[14]Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
[15]And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
      2 Chronicles 7:14
[14]if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
      Psalms 17:6
[6]I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God; Incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech.
      Psalms 102:17
[17]He shall regard the prayer of the destitute, And shall not despise their prayer.
      Psalms 145:18-19
[18]The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth.
[19]He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them.
      Proverbs 15:29
[29]The Lord is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayer of the righteous.
      Romans 10:13
[13]For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
      Romans 10:9-13
[9]If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
[10]For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
[11]As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”
[12]For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile-the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,
[13]for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

(1 Thess 2:13, 2 Tim 2:1-2). So how can you come 2000 years later and say what Scripture says and doesn't say, and go solely off what is written, when there is the clear possibility that a teaching was given orally to the Apostles/churches that wasn't written down?
And how can you, being so divorced from apostolic churches and church history, be aware of these traditions passes down that are outside Scripture and yet do not contradict Scripture? Your whole argument is based on your own ignorance.

When he took it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each of the elders held a harp and gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the holy ones.
      9
They sang a new hymn: "Worthy are you to receive the scroll and to break open its seals, for you were slain and with your blood you purchased for God those from every tribe and tongue, people and nation.
Only an Omniscient God can understand all the languages of all nations Nations..John Is a creature and Cant. Only an Omniscient God. 13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, everything in the universe, cry out: "To the one who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor, glory and might, forever and ever."Now John HERD ALL THIS all those languages of the earth. How did He hear all those Languages and understand them . God Had to have made it possible for John why couldn’t he do that for those in Heaven as well.. So why cant Mary and the saints hear since they have an Omniscient God to Make things Know to them the saints don’t have to Be Omniscient. God gave them that ability.
What act of Love are Christians told to do for one another Pray for one another
Rev18: 19-24 What’s the reaction to those in heaven… To the destruction Of Babylon On earth if they aren’t made aware of what’s happening on earth. God made them aware giving Biblical proof that The Saints can be made aware of what’s taking place on Earth. They must have seen it Because allowed them to see it.
Mathew 18:6-7 Do not harm little children because God loves them as well as Babes in the Faith Physically or spiritually.
. 6But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
      Why does he say this
“Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven.
What does that mean the Angles are assigned to these children to watch over them and pray for them. They go before the father and Intercede for them .
How do Angles know what is taking place on earth Angles are not Omniscient God thru the Holy Sprit reveals it to them they don’t have to be Omniscient.
      Luke 15:7
I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.
How can People in heaven rejoice over someone coming to repentance? If they’re not aware of their repentance. Now since Mary and the Saints are In heaven are they aware of their repentance and rejoice. Those in Heaven must be aware of what’s happening on Earth.
      Luke 15:10
In just the same way, I tell you, there will be rejoicing among the angels of God over one sinner who repents." Those in Heaven must be aware of what’s happening on Earth

      11
I looked again and heard the voices of many angels who surrounded the throne and the living creatures and the elders. They were countless 5 in number,
      12

      Interesting but false.
There are places in the Bible where it says saints can hear you and prayers ascend to them. Or maybe your Bible doesn't have Hebrews or revelation. I am not sure. Check your bible to see if it has revelations and get back.
I agree prayers should be directed to the father. But we can have any Christian join us alive or dead.

Mary does direct us closer to Jesus! That is what is so beautiful about praying to her, asking for her prayers for us. She helps us because she loves God and wants us to grow our faith in Jesus. Fellow Christians on earth help each other in our walks in faith, the saints in heaven do the same for us! Of course it is not necessary to ask any Saint for prayers. We should aim to be in prayer with our lord as much as we are able. But it is an amazing gift open to us if we wish!

Look up paintings by artists that were done hundreds of years ago with titles such as "The Assumption of Mary" or "The Coronation" or "Queen of Heaven". They can’t Intercession
The Bible gives an example of the Blessed Virgin Mary’s intercession in John 2:3-5: “...And the wine failing, the mother of Jesus saith to him: They have no wine. And Jesus saith to her: Woman, what is that to me and to thee? my hour is not yet come. His mother saith to the waiters: Whatsoever he shall say to you, do ye.” This verse plainly shows that Mary knew of the miracle that He was to perform, and that it was at her request (intercession) He performed the miracle.
The Bible exhorts us to honor Mary, prefigures and compares her to the honored Ark of the Covenant, and gives an example of her intercession:
      * Luke 1:44-56 prefigured in Psalms 44:14 (Catholic numbering)
      * Luke 1:35 prefigured in Numbers 9:15
      * Luke 1:44-56 prefigured in 2 Kings 6:9-15
      * John 2:3-5
      * et al.
The Bible esteems asking the angels and saints for their intercession:
      * Apocalypse 5:8 (Revelation for Protestants): “…and the four and twenty ancients fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.”
      * Tobias 12:12-15: The archangel Raphael intercedes presenting Tobias and Sarah’s prayer to God.
      * Zacharias 1:12-16: Guardian angels intercede with God on behalf of the living of Jerusalem and the cities of Juda.
      * 2 Maccabees 15:7-16: Jeremias appears alive with Onias to intercede for the people and the city.
Protestants try to cite 1 Timothy 2:5 as a command against intercessory prayers:
“For there is one God, and one mediator of God and men, the man Christ Jesus:…”
but note that 1 Timothy 2:5 is not even the complete sentence. Read the rest of the sentence, 1 Timothy 2:6:
“…Who gave himself a redemption for all, a testimony in due times.”
The full sentence, 1 Timothy 2:5-6, is completely non-controversial. Jesus Christ was, is, and always will be the only sufficient mediator of our redemption. Only the Sacrifice of the Son of God on Calvary could ever be the sufficient cause of our redemption. We Catholics acknowledge and celebrate that at every Mass. To ask for the intercession of the Angels and Saints with our requests does no injury to His Sacrifice.
As further evidence that 1 Timothy 2:5-6 does not proscribe intercessory prayers, note that the author of 1 Timothy 2:5-6, St. Paul himself, repeatedly asked for intercessory prayers:
      * Romans 15:30-32: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, through our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the charity of the Holy Ghost, that you help me in your prayers for me to God, That I may be delivered from the unbelievers that are in Judea, and that the oblation of my service may be acceptable in Jerusalem to the saints. That I may come to you with joy, by the will of God, and may be refreshed with you.”
      * 2 Corinthians 1:11: “You helping withal in prayer for us: that for this gift obtained for us, by the means of many persons, thanks may be given by many in our behalf.”
      * Ephesians 6:18-20: “By all prayer and supplication praying at all times in the spirit; and in the same watching with all instance and supplication for all the saints: And for me, that speech may be given me, that I may open my mouth with confidence, to make known the mystery of the gospel. For which I am an ambassador in a chain, so that therein I may be bold to speak according as I ought.”
[Note: St. Paul describes himself as an “ambassador in a chain”: St. Paul > his intercessors > Our Lord]
      * Philippians 1:19-20: “For I know that this shall fall out to me unto salvation, through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, According to my expectation and hope; that in nothing I shall be confounded, but with all confidence, as always, so now also shall Christ be magnified in my body, wither it be by life, or by death.”
[Note: The prayers of St. Paul’s intercessors do not injure Christ, but “magnify” Him.]
      * Colossians 4:1-4: “Masters, do to your servants that which is just and equal: knowing that you also have a master in heaven. Be instant in prayer; watching in it with thanksgiving: Praying withal for us also, that God may open unto us a door of speech to speak the mystery of Christ (for which also I am bound;) That I may make it manifest as I ought to speak.”
[Note: Another instance of the prayers of intercessors being links in the “chain” to God.]
      * 1 Thessalonians 5:25: “Brethren, pray for us.”
      * 2 Thessalonians 3:1-2: “For the rest, brethren, pray for us, that the word of God may run, and may be glorified, even as among you; And that we may be delivered from importunate and evil men; for all men have not faith.”
[Note again that the prayers of intercessors do not injure or offend Christ, but instead glorify His Word.]
      * Philemon 1:21-22: “Trusting in thy obedience, I have written to thee: knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say. But withal prepare me also a lodging. For I hope that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.” Also Mary was sinless because God himself made her that way to carry Jesus In the book of Habakkuk, the prophet says to God, “Your eyes are too pure to look on evil” (Habakkuk 1:13, CSB).

Because the Queens of Judah were the king’s mothers and not their wives. The Lord’s Queen Mother is Mary. And they aren’t praying to the statue. Is it a sin to have likenesses of loved ones that walked this earth? The church is constantly being bashed for not being able to frame photographs they didn’t know how to take 2000 years ago. Statues and paintings was the only tech they had.

1 Kings 2:19Bathsheba therefore went unto king Solomon, to speak unto him for Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her, and bowed himself unto her, and sat down on his throne, and caused a seat to be set for the king's mother; and she sat on his right hand. 20Then she said, I desire one small petition of thee; I pray thee, say me not nay. And the king said unto her, Ask on, my mother: for I will not say thee nay.

Jesus told us: “Behold your Mother” and I will definitely refer to her as my mother. That means as good sons we should make her a priority and I would recommend my Protestant brothers to quit being rebellious teenagers. I think many people have a better understanding of salvation and heaven. People who are grace filled such as Mary make it to heaven and live there forever and are not dead. Mary is more alive than we are. Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with you!

Catholic here. First question is why don't Protestants actually look into the reasons Catholics give for what they do? So here is a simple breakdown of Catholic Theology.
    1) Jesus Christ ALONE is the Saviour. No one else.
    2) When Catholics pray to Mary they are not worshipping her. They are talking to her to ask for her prayers. No different to asking a friend from Church to pray for you.
    3) Words matter. Catholics have concrete definitions. Pray does NOT mean worship. Pray means to ask or request. Hence the old expression "Pray, tell?"
    4) Mary is not dead. For those who die in Christ are alive with Him in Heaven.
    5) I believe in the Communion of Saints. For Catholics there is one true Church (Catholic). That Church exists in three states. Heaven, Earth and Purgatory (another subject for another time). These three states are ONE unified Church. One big family. So just like the friend in the pew next to me so Mary is next to me in one big Catholic Church family. I can turn to them and ask their assistance.
    6) The Church is OLDER than the New Testament. Jesus never left any Scriptures. He left a Church. A community. Hence why it was the Catholic Church that gave you the New Testament. Don't believe me? Look up the Council of Rome 382AD. It was the POPE and Catholic Bishops who finally declared which books constitute Scripture. That's historical fact. Look it up.
    7) No. Mary did not have any other children. That is clear from Scriptures. When they came back after approx. 3 years in Egypt where were the other children that they had? There were none. When Jesus was lost in the Temple aged 12 and his parents searched for Him, where were His concerned brothers and sisters? There were none. When Jesus died on the Cross He left His mother in the care of John, a non relative. Absolutely unthinkable in 1st Century Jewish society if Jesus had brothers and sisters. This shows us that Joseph was dead and Jesus was an only Child.
When you read brothers and sisters you must understand the historical and cultural context. Catholics are excellent that. Brothers and sisters is a term used also for cousins, relatives and kin. It does not necessarily mean siblings. Protestants make that mistake a lot. Reading modern western ideas into the Bible.
As one famous Protestant convert said "To know history is to cease to be Protestant" Cardinal John Henry Newman.
    8) It makes Catholic chuckle when Protestants quote the following as "proof against venerating Mary"
“Then His brothers and His mother came, and standing outside they sent to Him, calling Him. And a multitude was sitting around Him; and they said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are outside seeking You.” But He answered them, saying, “Who is My mother, or My brothers?” And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.””‭‭Mark‬ ‭3‬:‭31‬-‭35‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
We Catholics DELIBERATELY use that Scripture quote on Catholic Feast Days of the Virgin Mary. We revel in it.
Why? Really read what Jesus said. He is saying what makes us His family. Doing God's word. No one did that better than Mary because she was pregnant with the Word of God in her womb. She literally obeyed God. She did His will. Hence why she is Theotokos.
"But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart." Luke 2:19
See. Mary ponders in her heart. She is pondering and treasuring God's Word in her soul. Hence why we venerate her because we should be like her in her love of God.
Furthermore, this event can't be Jesus denigrating or downplaying His mother because He would sin against the 4th Commandment.
    Some final points and observations.
    * All these Protestant objections have been long refuted and answered by the Catholic Church. You guys keep bringing them up and we have answered them thoroughly.
    * The Catholic Church was around from the start. We are the original Church. That's not up for debate. History shows it. There are writings from the end of the 1st Century (when the New Testament was still being written) that speak of the Catholic Church. Look up Irenaeus and Ignatius of Antioch.
    * Read If Protestantism were True by Devlin Rose.
    * Why do some many Protestants celebrate Christmas (It's Catholic = Christ's Mass), put up statues of baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph , donkey, cow etc in Nativity scenes then persecute us Catholics the rest of the year for having statues? Don't you have images in your homes? Photos of your loved ones?
Read Exodus 25:18 "And thou shalt make two cherubim of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat."
God commanded the making of images. What He condemns is IDOLS. Big difference. Statue of Jesus = fine.
Statue of Buddha or Ganesh = Idol.
Guys, literally for the love of God, get over it. You either misunderstand Catholicism or your twisting what we believe. Either way, you're wrong on these matters.
Look into what the Early Church Fathers believed.
Get a copy of their writings.
Get a copy of If Protestantism were True by Devlin Rose.
Reading these things will not harm you. If what you believe is true then it will hold up to the challenge.

all of this right here is why I'm starting my long awaited journey into the Catholic Church. I am a former agnostic, started to read the Bible in 2021 with much struggle. I should have joined RCIA before this past Easter, but it gave me the push to finally make up my mind about protestantism and catholicism.
it is unfortunate that protestant brothers and sisters in Christ conveniently ignore all Christian history before Martin Luther's revolution. please pray for me, God bless.

Ex-Catholic here. We don't care about Catholic theology because we care about true biblical theology. We care more about what God says to respect the garbage your popes make up. So to reply:
      1. Yes, that's true.
      2. Jesus is the Mediator between man and God (1Tim 2:5). We don't need Mary or anyone else in the prayer equation.
      3. The Bible has more concrete definitions. Read Exodus 32: everything that the Israelites do to the golden calf (feasting, offerings, altars, statues) is worship. Do the same to Mary, and that's worship. God's definition, not man's.
      4. Mary died, as in "stopped living physically on earth" because she is a sinner (Lk 1:47). She lives on in heaven, but she still died.
      5. You have no verse to support that. In fact, "Catholic" never appeared in the Bible, as sentimental as that sounds. Btw, the only church is the body of Christ. Non-Catholics who believe in God are in God's church; Catholics who worship Mary and not Jesus are not part of the church until they repent (1Cor 12:12-13).
      6. Scripture is inspiration of God (2Tim 3:16-17). Scripture existed for as long as man wrote stuff through God. God made the Bible, not any human council. And yes, the church (1Cor 12:12-13), which began when people started believing in God, is older than Scripture. It began as Judaism and transitioned into Christianity, not Roman Catholicism.
      7. Mary had other children. Mt 13:55-56 say so, and Lk 2:7 declares Jesus to be her FIRSTBORN Son. You can't be a firstborn and an only child at the same time. Israelite culture sees multiple children as a divine blessing; just read Leah vs Rachel in Genesis. Mary is indeed blessed... with many kids. There is also zero reason to assume "cousins" because the Greek word "adelphos" means sibling by default, or cousin if CONTEXT says so. Context doesn't, so they're siblings from the same woman.
      8. Jesus is saying that because His blood mother and blood brothers want Him to stop what He was doing; read the context. Jesus is pointing out that His real family, regardless of blood, are those who believe in Him. Blood family vs spiritual family, underestand?
      * They're not Protestant objections; they're the truth you're blind to. You're kinda like the Pharisees actually. The Catholic (Universal) Church without the Roman part did exist in the 1st century, but Emperor Constantine used it to unite Rome by mixing a bit of culture from each and meeting half-way. Also, followers of Jesus back then were called Christians (Acts 11:26), not Catholics.
      * Christianity was poisoned by Roman tradition, and that's where you get Roman Catholicism. Mind you, it was the Romans who persecuted Christians, then in 1184 the Roman Catholic Church repeated history by persecuting Christians. Look up "Inquisitions".
      * We don't do that stuff because we respect God's law not to represent Him with man-made creations instead of finding loopholes. Don't compare images of God to images of human loved ones because God is supremely higher than His creations. Exodus 20:3-5 is clear.
Exodus 25:18 talks about artistic statues, not religious ones. And it's cherubim, aka creatures. God is not a creation but the Creator, completely different. You cannot win this argument.
      * We don't misunderstand Catholics; Catholics misunderstand the Bible. We couldn't care less about what you believe in because we care only about what God wants His creations to believe in; that's why we're trying to reason with you using God's Word and not church letters.

As someone who was raised a Roman Catholic by my mother, this Mary topic really hits home. Jesus is so clear how he views his earthly mother in scripture. Why is this such a blind spot for so many? We don't pray to angels, Mary, Moses, saints, etc. We pray to the Father in Jesus' name. Period, end of story.
