    You should have been a radio show host. There are 1000s of videos on ranch, but I really enjoy watching your videos because I like listening to your voice, it's very calm and then seeing all your work make it all worth watching your videos.

    Hi Mike and Erin. Thanks so much for allowing us into your personal life. My wife and I both grew up on small ranches when we were kids. We have been married for 40 years last month. 3 years ago, we had the chance to purchase a small horse ranch, which we have turned into a small business of specialty care for retired horses, or horse owners who have abandoned them. As your life, ours is very busy and we run this by ourselves. You know the game. Get up early, feed the animals, fix fences, feed the animals, fix more stuff, water the animals, paint stuff, talk to the animals, then feed them and say good night. We have really enjoyed your series, and especially the haying. Lucky (or not) we purchase hay/alfalfa, as our pastures dont have enough room to both grow hay and support daily feedings in the summer.

    Hello ! I enjoyed your video.
    My name is Danny from Houston Texas. I grew up spending summers on my Godfathers ranch in Friendswood, Tx. Now most of Friendswood is big subdivisions with big houses. My Godfather raised cattle, pigs, sheep and a few race horses and managed a lot of crops for wealthy owners who had a lot of land. I learned a lot over the summer it sure was fun.
    They worked very hard on this ranch just like you all do.
    Good luck and God bless.

    I've been watching for a while but still a "newbie"! I have enjoyed this tour because it has given me a better idea of how the ranch is laid out. Great lay out. Really appreciate you sharing your Wyoming Life with the rest of us. When I was a kid back in the day and playing cowboys and Indians, always dreamed of living on a ranch in Wyoming. Never got to do that but I have had a few visits. You and Erin are a real class act. Thanks for sharing.

    The corral system looks nice. I remember when we had to move dairy cows around, we had to make a homemade corral with the equipment. Love the antiques on the wall in the shop.

    • @OurWyomingLife
      @OurWyomingLife  7 лет назад +2

      This is why I love comments, the things on the wall are all there because they have a meaning. For example there is a toilet seat that a cow got stuck on her head. I should do something about the wall. The corrals rock, they were alot of work but the old corrals were way to wide and were a pain to work with, these are much better. Thanks! -Mike

    I live in New Zealand, live stock farming is what do we do here too. What I would like to know is why you guy don't plant trees for shelter from wind and weather for your cows, I have worked in places that are a bit like Wyoming weather wise and have we planted long trees lines along fences for shelter, many pine trees.

    Hi. Mike! I thoroughly enjoy the videos you create! I've learned more about what my grandparents life was like on their Homestead in South Dakota. They started with 360 acres in 1921 and expanded the ranch to be 4,440 acres. They raised sheep. My dad would say "A good man can sheer 100 sheep a day (by hand)" My grandma taught school. The house my grandpa built is still standing, barely. They sold their ranch and retired in 1960. We would visit the ranch site from time to time over the years but it was unimaginable what it must have been like.

    She needs to make one of those a permaculture forest garden. They're awesome and the more years you have into it the less work you have to do.in about 10 years the only thing you'll really have to do is plant your annuals when you want them planted. It works with companion gardening, no-dig gardening and it takes care of itself in the end like the forest would take care of itself. Nobody goes out and tills the forest to keep things going. growing.

      Oh wow, are you in Houston? I don't knock my little jaunts everyday, but just saying that driving the same road all day long does get a bit tedious. I have plenty of distractions and wouldn't have it any other way. Sorry about having to leave Minnesota, but as I've learned life takes us where it wants us. Hey Mike,
    Have you ever considered planting fruit trees on your land? The set up will take some effort but after that the yield can be considerable. 2.5 acres can give you 100+ tonnes of apples a year for example.
    I really admire your lifestyle, your commitment and your respect. Well done!
    Wish you the best,

    Ranchers are caretakers of the land and for that they are rewarded with hard work, heartache, and more hard work, yet most of those city folk expect Ranchers to allow THEM to come and use YOUR land for whatever THEY choose to do on YOUR land because they think like city folk. Thanks for sharing and hope you don't wake up one day and find two folks with dredd locks and tents living in your barn....................... yes it can happen to you too.
