Haha that would've been funny! She didn't know I was coming. I missed her surprise birthday party due to a wedding. Left Sunday morning and was there Monday by 6 Pacific time. About 4 hr nap in Nebraska. Monday was her actual birthday. Brother in law knew so let me know where they'd be. The look on her face was priceless. We both must've gotten some of that Nevada sand in our eyes.
Interstate 80 in Nevada is one of the most beautiful and underrated drive in the country, especially in the spring and early summer with the views of the snow-capped mountains. Nevada is Spanish for snow-capped and I-80 helps Nevada live up to its name very well.
The other direction is probably even better. You go across all day, then when you come between the cliffs at Wendover, there is the salt flats laid out in blazing white below you.
I want to drive 95 through Nevada so badly! Ever since I found Walker Lake on a map, I knew I wanted to see it in person. And the ghost towns on that route are legendary.
It’s a great route for sure. Walker Lake is so beautiful. We did a video a few years back of the drive on 95 from Reno to Las Vegas through Nevada if you’re interested: ruclips.net/video/623JCFbEOBM/видео.html Thanks for watching!
Love this drive. Thing is I want to get out at every single point cause the landscape is nothing but gorgeous. Millions of square miles of desert and cactus in the West that is nothing but Eye Candy.
I absolutely love driving the western half of this country. Your video reminds me of just how beautiful it is out here. Made this trip several times in the 70s, and the clarity and quality of your video makes me excited to do it again. Thank you for the inspiration!
Beautiful - High resolution scenery ! This is the road I traveled many times but that was back in the 60s. The road then was mostly single lane. You've got me hooked and I'm ready for more !
ha ha im in my armchair in australia travelling across nevada desert......cool love modern technology for things like this whooo hoo feel like im in the car with u guys this is beautiful scenery ☺❤👍💐🥀
bonjour magnifique vidéo et superbe voyage avec vous pendant se trajet nous guidant a reno les paysages sont magnifiques superbe travail vidéo de votre parts merci de se partage vidéo cordialement
There is a book you should read I think. It is called Rough-Hewn Land by Keith Heyer Meldahl. In it he drives from California to the Rockies. He also explains the Basin n Range you are driving thru. Did you know Salt Lake and Reno are drifting apart half an inch a year? Not only do we get to see this geology of the past through your travels but it is still on going today. The earth is alive and this is one of the most fascinating living areas on the planet. I could go on and on but lunchtime is almost over. Thank you thank you for letting us see living geology in the slowest of motion today. :D
Great recommendation. A remarkably clear, entertaining, and lucid description of the geological history of the Western USA. Reading on Kindle and visiting all the places he talks about on Google Maps. Maybe can visit them in real life some day!
This would be a quiet ride for me as I stare. Never in my life have I been somewhere with such vast stretches of mostly flat and barren landscape. To me it really makes the world seem a whole lot bigger compared to here where there's tall trees, hills, and mountains everywhere, lol.
It had to be a brutal journey by wagon train. Especially when compared with driving 75-80 MPH on nicely paved roads in an air conditioned car with music playing and restaurants/grocery stores plus modern lodging available!
Very relaxing cruise across Nevada on I-80. Unfortunately we were not allowed to enter Nevada during our RV road-trip (some insurance problems I guess), would love to visit also this state one day. Until then I am delecting myself with your videos, thanks a lot for sharing, greetings from a road-tripper from Germany!
Driving across the Great Basin expanse of Nevada to arrive at your ultimate destination of California. Nevada has the most mountains outside of Alaska. I consider California and Nevada one in the same. I love both equally CALNEV
Beautiful its wonderful im a guitarist and i live in italy but i watch your videos every day with my guitar and songs like Morgan wallen long live cowgirls i hope one day my dreams it comes true to play guitar with country artists its my dream when i was kid 🎸🌞🌟🌟⭐🌞🌞⭐🇺🇸🌞⭐⭐🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸I love America and country
Captivating journey through Nevada! 🚗 The vastness of the desert landscapes is truly mesmerizing, and your video quality is top-notch-no glare, no reflection, just pure scenic beauty. Also, the historical tidbits about the old single-lane roads and the allure of the Wild West add a fascinating touch. Looking forward to more virtual road trips with you! 🏜🌄
I once knew a cute gurl who worked as a lab scientist and lived in Fallon, Nevada. Sadly, our distance was too high, so we never got together. That was over 10 years ago. :( But thanks for showing me the region I would have lived if I had decided to move. :) Greetings from Switzerland!
I drove on this section of I-80 in Nevada eastbound and westbound as a part of my road trip recently, but before your video. Some of those road construction scenes and detours look familiar to me. 😂 Your video quality is always so good. No glare, light reflection, or dead insects. How did you achieve this? Good job.
Great drive. I worked in Battle Mountain in the late 90s for the state. Been all over I 80, from Truckee to Wendover. Good stuff. What kind of vehicle are you driving?
One thing that puzzled me is that when driving West and making a pit stop and then by mistake enter the freeway going East, you may have to drive 50 miles East before you can make a legal U-turn going back West, thus wasting 100 miles of driving.
I'm very enjoying this kind of video.. but I'm curious how can you drive 400 miles in 4 5 hrs... it means run constantly at 80 mph for 5 full hrs... anyway, I found a vast dessert with mountaineous background such as in Nevada is somehow very relaxing... like a peaceful place for blank spacing, maybe even better in winter... such a beautiful landscape. Cheers from Indonesia
Actually, no. The "loneliest road" is US Highway 50, which crosses Nevada roughly 100 miles south of I-80. 50 is two lanes, and doesn't go through anything as big as Elko or Winnemucca.
Lots of maintenance. These roads do not come for nothing. Most of the dollars from the Feds as it should be cause these roads are number one in the nations commerce.
The sky of Nevada….most beautiful thing ever!
Agreed!
I did this last August. Left Ohio and drove across I 80 and down I 580 to the Fandango just to say Happy Birthday to my sister😊
That was a very nice gesture for your sister! 💚
And I bet her first words were “ you’re late!”
Haha that would've been funny! She didn't know I was coming. I missed her surprise birthday party due to a wedding. Left Sunday morning and was there Monday by 6 Pacific time. Totally agree. I’ve been a fan of your work for years @InterstateKyle.
The other direction is probably even better. You go across all day, then when you come between the cliffs at Wendover, there is the salt flats laid out in blazing white below you.
One of my favorite drives. I love the high desert landscape and hardly a soul out there.
Love the look of the Nevada desert, and the lack of congestion out there is really nice too. Thanks for watching!
No music. Just drive and enjoy the view
I like it.❤❤❤❤
Happy to hear that! 💚
This reminds me of really good memories from a road trip with my dad and dogs thanks for taking your time to make this video it means a lot to me!
Happy to help you relive great memories! Thanks so much for watching!
Very sweet. Nothing like a road trip with your dad.

Beautiful roads indeed

True!
Streaming this clip while listening to Cowboy Carter or The Killer's Battle Born is epic.
Thank you.

That's why I love country song. It's natural.

can NOT imagine crawling thru this part of NV, ( and country) at the SLOWER pace of the old wagon trains by horse. Out in the elements🤔😟
It had to be a brutal journey by wagon train. Especially when compared with driving 75-80 MPH on nicely paved roads in an air conditioned car with music playing and restaurants/grocery stores plus modern lodging available!

Great drive. I worked in Battle Mountain in the late 90s for the state. Been all over I 80, from Truckee to Wendover. Good stuff. What kind of vehicle are you driving?
We did this drive in an Audi Q5. Thanks for wathcing!
Looks a lot like Wyoming too.

I wish I had a house in that desert, far from everybody.

Cruise control. No traffic and 80MPH speed limits make the miles go pretty fast.
What are you driving?
We drove an Audi Q5 in this video.
Well, where is the overpopulation, just mountains and deserts for many hours of driving
Exactly what we were thinking

it very similar to algerian desert maye be north africa and north amerca were together for million years
It certainly seems like they could’ve been.

You can generally see when these scenic drives were filmed in the description. This one was filmed in late September.

This is a huge quarry of past civilizations. The land was stripped to the skin and dumped. And it seems to us that this is all nature))

you travel 5 hours , i reduced that 2.5 hours...
Great video! How do you keep them stable/what car are you using? I love the ones that just have the road noise like this.
