    Even if he said no, I would still practice surf skateboarding in its own right. Got mine over 4 weeks ago and I love it.
    There’s a completely new community of surf skaterboarders out there. Many of them live inland.

    Car park with a slight downhill best for practice on surf skate, but not too steep where you get too fast. You want an incline , so on completion of your carve or “cutback” , the downhill keeps your momentum going into next turn.

    Living away from the sea. Been surkskating for 10 months consistently and I have developed a really good technique. Learned all the turns. I’m looking forward to seeing if I can carry them to the water.

    I haven’t surf for nearly 3 months due to a back injury (and now a very sore wrist). So I wouldn’t be able to handle the board in the surf - like duck diving, let alone popping up. Push ups really hurt my wrist; let alone dealing with the effects of the fast movement on my back from popping up. So surf skateboarding is one substitute.
    Yes, it doesn’t replace paddle fitness, time in water, reading waves, etc. Most of all my biggest weakness, popping up. But surf skateboarding is fun in its own right.
    Until I can climb into my wetsuit without pain will be the day I will surf. In meantime I have my surf skateboard.

    This whole month of June I haven’t been surfing due to some shoulder soreness. I honestly don’t know what I would do without my surfkskates 😭

    If the surfs flat, find concrete waves

    I train on a slanted parking garage. Is it better to surfskate on flat ground around cones? I surf Florida waves which are small so I’m not sure what’s the best way to practice those.

    My problem is this: I skate goofy, but I surf Regular.....sooooo, is it worth it in your opinion?

    • @heenalusurf2500
      @heenalusurf2500 3 года назад

      that’s interesting, i’ve never heard of it before. have you tried skating or surfing switch to see if goofy or regular is really your natural stance? and if not then ig surfskate s will help your switch surfing

    • @freakymalik
      @freakymalik 3 года назад

      @@heenalusurf2500 I'm a bit ambidextrous, so maybe is that...I remember that when I first started surfing I struggled to pop up a lot, because I tried to do everything with a goffy stance...other than that, I think I could switch on skateboard, if I wanted to, because Regular seems the way for me...but I'm not sure it's worth the time

    Am I the only one who actually feels surfskates are counter-productive?! First of all, I shred on concrete and nowhere near in the surf... Plus, the stance is really narrow and the turning radius is much shorter. Bottomline, I actually mistime turns on the water and feel extra stiff after surfskating... Is it just me?! 😬

      Sounds like you need a longer surfskate and to stiffen your trucks

    if I surf goofy but ride a skateboard natural… will a surf skate still help improve my surf?

      If you practice skating in goofy it will help more
