I've noticed that whenever RWBY characters are involved in any kind of crossover media, they are depicted in their season 1 designs. Which makes me believe that Rooster Teeth is aware of how earlier RWBY episodes endear a lot more with fans than the newer stuff.
Or maybe its not to spoil the later seasons.

I think it's more of a series in a crossover using older designs to signify "THIS ISN'T CANNON" That and maybe a combination of what you said, using the older designs to draw in the older fans with the nostalgia

Batman being a Robin and Superman being a Superboy and since Adult Wonder Woman is at least Thousands of years old, reducing her to her teenage years would be like taking away thousands of years of experience away from her for now, so it makes sense.

If you want to see more and haven't seen this yet look up RWBY/Justice League comic it's a different story and Aquaman is in it and Wonder Woman Flash and Jessica have different RWBY designs.
In the comic it's what if they lived on Remnant instead of traveling there
I actually didn't expect much when I watched it but it was actually pretty fun, though I think Jessica really stole the spotlight. It was a little weird at points but that can only be expected from crossovers, no matter how you make em lol...

Jess is the best DC character created during the 2010s and she usually does when they use her :).
I think the movie would've benefited from a longer run time. As is, it felt like it was moving too fast,, moving from scene to scene faster than wally west. Other than that I loved it.

@@thatguyinamask9789 I think the various conflicts and set up could've benefited IMMENSELY from a longer time frame. A few more scenes featuring cyborg's rivalry with Ren. Some more fight scenes with Bruce to further bring home just how much stronger his new powers make him. Some discussions with Weiss about how he feels about his new powers.
*SPOILERS AHEAD!!! SPOILERS AHEAD!!!*
Compare these plot points to the ones that actually have more time dedicated to them. Clark showing up Ruby as a leader due to his experience and her resulting feelings of inadequacy (This Ruby is pre volume 9). The set up to the reveal that Kilg%re is the villain and that he's possessing Barry. These are all handled pretty well because there was time dedicated to them. It's not even a matter of bad writing, they just didn't have the time to give. Personally, I think they did great with what they had to work with.
I would be more attracted to this crossover if Justice League members were adults teaching RWBY characters the true meaning of being heroes. No matter how cheesy that idea sounds.
Fortunately there is a part 2 so you might get your wish
Maybe, but I think the whole premise is just like that one JLA episode were the heroes became kids to stop Morgaine le Fey's son , Mordred.
Except this time they became teens, got weaken, and have to play by that world's rules.
Even without them being adults, we do still get aspects of that such as with Superman imparting wisdom of being a leader onto Ruby.
@@mattkugelman4369 Yeah, I think Part 2 will (hopefully) do what the current DC/RWBY crossover is doing right now. Hopefully-if that’s the case-there will be a better explanation on how Team RWBY gets their DC costumes instead of just…magically getting them without any explanation.
I would be cool with it if that movie is a Young Justice x RWBY instead. After all, all the main characters are young and with superpowers (except Robin and Artemis).
Plus I can imagine Artemis as a fox faunus with a semblance that can disappear and reappear like a ninja in the Remnantverse (that's what I called the RWBY universe).
Plus Conner (Superboy) being a wolf faunus with wolf ears. Plus his pet wolf making friends with Zwei (Ruby's corgi).
So nice to see all of them in their elements. Clark is out in the fields, Dianna is at a tribal home, and Bruce is at a rich boi's mansion.

More like there's something wrong on Remnant- given that Blake was unaware of the CCT Tower being down, yet aware that Adam killed Sienna Khan. Whatever brought the JL to Remnant also shifted Remnant's timeline.

I miss him too, I remember the first time I learned about him was when I saw the first episode of Dead Fantasy when I was still in college. I remember how excited I was when he announced they'll be starting an fighting animation series which was RWBY. After he died I just always felt that there was something missing on the fight scenes in RWBY now.

It's one of the redeeming factors about this crossover. It's no secret that rwby fight choreography took a steep step down when he passed. I'm excited to see what DC brings to the table during fight scenes.

I actually really liked this movie in terms rwby standards! Tho as a DC fan, the OOC with Bruce was just jarring, I'd get it if it was a little out of character but JEEZ. Happy Jessica had her arc tho, shes so underrated.

Anime girls who fight dark creatures who feed off negativeemotions, 2 sisters one stuck up and the last is moody cat lady. The show goes from decent to aggressively mid so I'd stop at around season 3. Crossover itself is alright, but please avoid the fandom if you ever check out the show.

I can’t decide if my favorite part is Ruby stopping in the middle of the fight to turn her back on the enemies or if it’s when both Ruby and Yang stop to stand and watch them head for Beacon

The entire justice league shows up at the final battle takes salem to their dimension and lock her up in whatever jail they would put superman in.

@Cazammaf OH it's definitely not canon, this has been in the works for at least 3 years, and Warner Brothers own both DC and RWBY
RWBY will probably end with sending Salem to the never after for rebirth aka forced character development. (Not saying Ruby's run was badly written, just a little lazy)

I’m wracking my brain on who the villain will be in the part 2 of this movie. The surprise reveal was awesome for me, but I get why it was secret, to keep fans guessing till October when Part 2 comes out. I wonder who Kilg%re was working with, someone from Remnant, Kilg%re was working with someone only called “he” or “him”, and I wonder who would’ve been smart enough to make contact with another world, and trap Kilg%re inside of the digital hellscape they made

My partner and I both thoroughly enjoyed this movie! Seeing a certain someone again was very spooky and it was overall a great journey! Excited for part 2! 💜
As a fan of both franchises, this looks like a fun mash-up. Interesting how they chose to integrate the Justice League members we see into the “RWBY” universe.

It's just so funny to me that Batman Superman designs have been modified to the RWBY universe while Wonder woman fits right in so well that and the concept is just so weird to see this crossover. Now I want to see a legitimate Goku/ Superman movie
I'm sure people will be thrilled for this out of simple nostalgia and fan love, but I'm not sure how well it will turn out. All I really see is the JL nerfed and dumbed down to make RWBY characters stand out more.
I ordered the move just because it was RWBY. Got my copy yesterday, It is better than I thought it would be. Nice way they tied it to the canon series.
Justice League oughta crossover with DBZ or Bleach now or something. Or bring the Power Rangers crossover to animation.
Those verses are both WAY too strong for that to work. Bleach especially has way too much overpowered hax to work.
The Justice League did team up with the Power Rangers in the comics.

Just an info for non fans, RWBY in this video is an American made animation. RWBY also has a remake Japanese made anime version just last year titled RWBY: Ice Queendom with 2 volumes which was spread out to 13 episodes for DVD.
