- What would we look like in the 4th dimension? And what is the fourth dimension, anyway? Well, imagine you wake up and can’t recognize your room. That’s definitely it, but your desk in on the wall, and the dresser is on the ceiling. It’s closed, but you can somehow see every folded t-shirt in it! You wipe your eyes. Nothing changes. This isn’t a dream. Welcome to the 4-dimensional world! Still not clear?
Okay, to understand the 4th-dimensional world, we need to look at the others. So, a 0-dimension world is just a point. Now, if you expand it, you get a 1-dimensional world that’s a simple line. It only has one measure, and that’s length. Now we’ll add another line perpendicular to the one we have. We get a flat surface with length and width, like a piece of paper. But the objects of this world have 3 measures: length, width, and height. Then where to put the next perpendicular line to get the 4th dimension?

I just want to say that the sims franchise up until now is literally a reflection of this. Its very eerie to me that most of the things he said are possible in the current sims 4. Your sims teleport. Their inventory is infinite. When they meditate and achieve some sort of enlightenment they can even further manipulate time and teleport within a lot. I can never tell my sim that they are a sim because they cannot perceive me. Then randomly I think of sim city and how you manage a society as a whole and then I think about how I recently came across the crusader kings franchise and how playing that you play as a past society and it feel oddly like an old version of what sims became. Like.. The concepts of the game are much simpler but familiar. Like managing your lineage concer land. And then assasins creed. Oh man idk I feel like I don't know much about anything really but there's a strange understanding of these ideas that I feel you literally explore through gaming. The metaverse or whatever like it feels like we are right at the point where we do the simulation paradox thing and then blah blah the matrix.

As a person who thinks it’s ok to correct other people: The 4th dimension is a interesting concept but having time as the 4th dimension or another space like dimension are different concepts and you can’t use them interchangeably. If the planet is a Hypersphere then you have a 4th space like dimension but then if you can travel back in time then you have a 4th time dimension. In the 4th dimension, you can see the inside of a 3d wardrobe but not the inside of a 4d wardrobe. It’s like how you can see the inside of a 2D wardrobe but not your own. A 4d being can appear to teleport to a 3d being but not to another 4D being. Where did you get even the seeing emotions thing because that’s an entirely different concept. If your skeptical of my corrections then watch or read other sources about the 4th dimension.

A 4D creature in a 3D world will eventually not be limited by space and time

You can see through the body of a 3D object( meaning they can see through your whole body system) just like we can see the whole physical qualities of a 2D object
A 4D object or person can't be locked up in a 3D prison because it's of a lower dimension

But i think 4D has two different versions of dimensions
Which probably is the space dimension and time dimension
Space dimension: and extra space dimension (some dimension other than (length breadth and height)
Time dimension: the ability to move forward and backward in time just like you can move forward and back in space
There is also a higher chance that a 4D creature is timeless ( not limited by time )
Imagine we are somewhat already in the 4th dimension and that is what memories, emotions, intuition and dreams are. Our perception of the 4th dimension. Very subtle and woo woo esque, not as fancy as time travel or telepathy, but something we all can’t exactly pin down to a finate moment or feel in control over..

Nah, it's just terrible chemical memory we keep that snapshots events that happened. They aren't any so of time perception because the memories aren't accurate. Memory is NOTORIOUSLY unreliable.

I did acid once and was in a 4d world walking upside down casually speaking telepathically to people.

One instance he told me about was when he was in a car with somebody and they stopped to get out. He then perceived himself getting out of the car but not a moment later he found himself back in the car again like nothing happened. He took his own life for reasons I don’t even want to know. Lsd defies explanation, it goes beyond anything we know in and of this world.

I’ve never heard of a “tessaract” being part of the fourth dimension. I personally believe Einstein in that the fourth dimension is time. We move always forward in time towards a future, and we also move in length, width, and height - those are the four dimensions - simple! In a world without the fourth dimension would be static, without entropy, and forever stuck in the present - a sort of ground hog day.

I don't think teleportation would be a thing, as the spatial component of the universe would still be a big ol' hyperplane (or whatever 3-manifold it may be) if you were to gain an additional dimension (provided that you don't become acausal instead and able to move freely through and manipulate time in a universe that seems static to you). You could definitely reach around to get to the contents of something without opening it though.

I think we can experience 4D it’s just the State of Mind! Imagine travelling to your favourite place. You get there by Walk, Bus , Train or even Airplane so you have put all your energy somehow to get there but in the 4D world you will have no memory of all the 3D objects that you used to get to that particular place. so In 4D world you might only feel the teleportation! But you have to have the same amount of energy to get there in any dimension.

I was in 4D once. I was seeing from my soul perspective. I could see all of me at once, but I didn't leave my body. I know that doesn't make sense in 3D, but I was in 4D and I could see the front and back of me all at once. Not from above, it is like there is no such thing as space in the 4th dimension. I didn't have to move, but could see the back of me. Like I said, it was my soul perspective, not my personality perspective. It's all One anyway, so I just got to experience the true self from the personality consciousness. Our true identity beyond this dream.

7:00 it's amazing fr to do all this stuff but I don't think it's very helpful to think about 4d in terms of our 3d experiences like linear time. Both 9.12am and 9.00am are instances of reality that exist simultaneously, so there's no time travel per se, but rather a sense timelessness. It's all super interesting though. Dreaming I think is the closest we come to interacting with 4d with our 3d brains.
So is it a lack of physical boundaries? Like with solid objects? Or getting to experience different routes of time at once or even selectively without a passage of time?
4d is so complex and mysterious, watching this was making my brain stretch far, but it was fascinating.

Easiest concept I could think of is Time is a rubber band that you can stretch and squash and space is a putty you can form and poke through all you want. Being outside of time and space also imagine being able to put your fingers in many pies. Doing everything at once because your conciousness isnt limited to the dimensions of space and time. So a version of you can be there, here in the 3rd dimension exploring, and so on so forth with all dimensions and their properties except one, where Origin is.
This is why electrons have the double slit weirdness. Time is the fourth dimension. Black holes and electrons both are at or near the speed of light and they both are in a sense timeless which means that they hit the forth dimension and stay there.
There could be worlds made up of things that don't exist here and are impossible for us to imagine. Things other than matter/energy/space, time, the five senses we have here, color, thoughts, and consciousness.

4th dimension is duration measured by time.
It's not that you would see behind walls but the 4th dimension is duration (one state of matter to another) so its not about physical properties but duration.
You would be basically be time travelling but it would seem instantaneous in the 3rd dimension.

I always imagined 4D by relating it to cubism. Cubism is trying to capture time and motion on a flat surface, so 4D would be like watching an entire movie in an instant, with all the frames overlapping one another. Only it would apply to literally everything, you'd always see the entire life of an object or yourself

If you could conceptualize someone’s entire life in one continuous pipeline like a movie of a sim crawling, standing, sitting, walking, laying and dying all at once that is the closest to understanding a time like forth dimension.

Time - space is required for every dimension and we can't specify time-space as 4th dimension....as per my research and thoughts I think 4th dimension is our imagination and the world which we enter to think and the surrounding where we imagine few things and similarly it is hard to imagine any clock which is running accurate to us like if we see it now and after 10 mins it won't show the time in difference of 10 mins it will be different ..., So i guess it will be the 4th dimension
An example could be you watching this video moving back forth but maybe even going back to before you were watching a certain part or forward to when you saw the end but went back to see yourself watching it for the first time? All the while you always knew you would see what you were gona see from the beginning and somehow able to see everything you weren’t able to see when you went to the end for the 647383829th or 73288292th time all at the same time?
You would be able to see the trajectory of your atoms as they would travel into the future, your position is a relative position.. Not a space in time, which comprises the entirety of the 4th dimension. Any interaction you expand upon into the future, your observation of it's relative position is a position in the 4th dimension.
Since we exist in the 3rd dimension, our perception and reality is wrapped around that framework. We can't fully comprehend what the 4th dimension LOOKS like, we can only represent one relative point in time and it's representation in the 4th plane of reality. The future potential or information stored from the past.
Off the top of my head, I believe the 5th dimension is a representation of an additional space of matter that will define a parallel dimension that comprises many components of the previous 4 layers, with this new layer being every single path the future can possible take. This dimension composes the many branching paths that will ultimately comprise the multiverse.
It probably looks like a web of spheres that each contain an entire universe and it's entire totality. When you jump to the nearest sphere, you enter a new set of consequences and eventualities that will comprise this representation of the 5th dimension. Here not only the past and future collide, but also all the potential outcomes that could potentially exist.
Another step higher completely exists my comprehension. Maybe that dimension is an entire reality, and can be observed from a point of alternate states that always exist parallel to eachother.
So maybe the 6th dimension is like the bizarro multiverse that results as a consequence along the chain, after the multiverse level things just become arbitrary and impossible to comprehend from WITHIN the ego, there are missing pieces of information that prevent us from ever understanding the nature of the world OUTSIDE of the universe.

The way we experience dimensions is still not fully understood but it essentially has more to do with perception and observation than we thought, thanks to the wave-particle experiments we knew observation was a key, but it gets wild fast. The way I see it now is every single point in space, every particle, component, collapses into a cone due to quantum mechanics. So you look at something and for a moment that "thing" can be anywhere around it's influence, yet once observation is made it collapses (think like a tornado, the top circle being the potential energy and the single point at the bottom being the collapse, the event), what I've learned that I need to rethink is how it might not just be our brains that induce the event (does our conciousness shape reality?) but instead it might be "flow",
Flow, this is the thing I've been thinking a lot about lately, I think there is a flow to life like weather patterns, everything in life is vibrating, dynamically shaking around as it's caught in a macro flow, the trick to our 3d dimension is we have the ability to travel along that flow in a linear frame of space, understanding how we not only arrange these paths, predict them, anticipate, but how we move along that flow and do it conciously or subconsciously is what I think will be a major discovery tied to the nature of reality. This is just one dimension, linear time, moving to higher dimensions means time operates from beginning, present, to future at the same time, and the way it exists in multiple states is the trick to the 4th dimension, beyond that like I mentioned in the original comment the 5th dimension is the entire scope of that non-linear timeframe and how it's affected by other considerations, all the paths resolved and the other paths that exist in parallel dimensions. As above, so below.

I think that's the fact we think of different dimensions or higher ones in a unrealistic way is the complex issue.
I love how bad this is at explaining 4D space. It doesn't explain the foundations for projections, then just tosses them in like the viewer knows what an oblique projection of a hypercube into 3D space is. On top of that, it claims that the 4th dimension is just adding time, and completely ignores the valid question of true 4-dimensional space. Space-time obviously isn't space, so it's way different to say that 4D space is adding time than actually working out how true 4D space works.
My favorite part is 4:00 where the "complex equations" are simple algebraic expressions. No differentiation, modular arithmetic, or actual mathematical models of 4D objects, just a bunch of regular arithmetic.
Right? It is REALLY bad. It's like he watched a few RUclips videos, and maybe spent some time researching the material on google, but doesn't have a very great understanding of the the 4th dimension actually works. At one point, for example, he's like "In this 4d world you could reach in and tickle your friends brain, but don't do it." which is absolutely not true. His friend would need to be three dimensional in order for that to work. He keeps taking about a 4th dimensional being, and describing what it would be like in a third dimensional world, but then saying it is happening in a 4th dimensional world.
The reason you can reach inside the head of a 4th dimensional being, is similar to why you can draw inside the center of a 2-dimensional square. As a third dimensional being, the length and width aren't able to prevent you from interacting with the squares insides because you have access to the dimension of height, which allows you to raise your self up above the lines of length and width and interact directly with it's center.
In that same way, a 4th dimensional being has access to an "additional direction" it can interact with, that a 3rd dimensional being doesn't have access to, and could then touch our brains.
A 4th dimensional being would be designed to live in a 4th dimensional world though, and it's body would extend in these additional directions, and would prevent someone from being able to poke you in the brain. The discussion of "Teleporting around" was really frustrating for me to, because that isn't really what is happening here. Moving in the 4th dimension would appear to 3 dimensional beings as teleportation, but in the 4th dimension, with 4th dimensional beings it wouldn't be.
If he was describing what it would be like for a 4th dimensional being to interact with a 3rd dimensional world though, this video would actually be pretty accurate. That is, if he was describing how it would look to 3 dimensional beings.
@@brianhsly The thing is, Bright Side isn't one guy making videos, it's actually a big corporation that is just a content farm. The people who wrote the script for this narrator to read obviously weren't mathematicians, they just threw in whatever stuff they thought would interest the audience enough to get them money. They don't care about presenting accurate information and talking to real mathematicians about the 4th dimension, they just want to put out a video that probably took a week to make and get nearly a million views.

I think we can experience 4D it’s just the State of Mind! Imagine travelling to your favourite place. You get there by Walk, Bus , Train or even Airplane so you have put all your energy somehow to get there but in the 4D world you will have no memory of all the 3D objects that you used to get to that particular place. so In 4D world you might only feel the teleportation! But you have to have the same amount of energy to get there in any dimension.

If we can just see and walk through walls in the fourth dimension; then there would be no need for houses or any other type of building at all.. We build those structures for privacy and protection.. There would be no concept of privacy if everyone can see through everything and the elements rain; snow; sleet(which would be falling up and side to side) would in theory also be able to pass through walls.. Also there would be no secrets as your ora would constantly be giving away your thoughts and emotions to everyone.. Man what a crazy world that would be..
