So ein paar Licks von Eric sollte jeder kennen :D
1:32 - what's your method of muting the whole-step bend on the G string without it coming down? I use my palm but find it impractical at times since sometimes I want to pick closer the the bridge and the side of my palm isn't resting on the strings to be able to palm mute them. Any tips? thanks!
While releasing the bend I also release the pressure of the fretting finger (that's what I do here). Depending on what you want you can also use the pick (I use pick and palm of the picking hand to damp a string).
I have a little problem with this backing track, the chords are Cmaj - F7 - Gmaj but with this type of sound I can't understand the chords under the melody....when I listen your solo it seems like that you play all The lick over F7. I cant understand the changed....in wich way I can understand the chords change?
Hi Matteo. This lick is played over a blues in C (C7-F7 and G7). Eric starts the lick when he is over an F7 in the progression going back to C7. The first part of the lick is an F7-arpeggio so you can't start this lick over C7. When you look at the tabs then you'll see that I wrote the chords over it. The reason that it sounds like i play it all over C7 is that after the F7 arpeggio it does not matter. Try this: leave out the first part and just play the rest und you will see that you can play section B and C of the lick everywhere within the progression.
All chords in a major blues progression are dominant chords; this may be another reason why you don’t feel confident with it.
