Thanks for this. I am a beginner, attending evening lessons at a subsidized school in Europe. Unfortunately, in Europe there is some sort of regulation that requires language schools to try teach writing to beginners. We have not mastered the pronunciation, much less much vocabularly, and these educational geniuses are already trying to teach us to write! This seems ridiculous to me, but at least it is cheaper than private lessons, which usually start with asking the students what their learning objectives are. Instead, and this is happening all over Europe, they are telling us what our objectives are, dictating to us from the first few lessons.
Like almost all the other students, I would simply like to learn to listen and understand, to ask simple questions and speak simply, and then to read. Some are learning to speak with their families, while others are learning to prepare to travel.
Your video fills in the gap, thanks again.
Excellent! Liked it so much! I can read Arabic but hard without harakats. Anyway keep working hard guys! I learnt English the same way, thru online videos and movies watching. Massalama!
There is nothing wrong with this video. I learn so many new words that i hear on programs like the voice. Remember, this is a free video. This guy took the time to put it together. Why can't you just be thankful to him and move somewhere else if you feel this video is not helping you.
There is something wrong. For us learning and don't know these words, it takes much longer to go to a Type Arabic website, copy and paste, then paste into Google Translate. If there were English words that told what the words mean it would be amazing.
Thank you so much, it was really helpful.
Very helpful, thank you, many blessings and peace.

hanks for a informative article, here are a few more tips on how to learn Arabic…
Set realistic goals, don’t just dive in and say “I want to be fluent Arabic within 1 year”, give yourself short term goals which lead up to long term goals. E.g. Short Term Goal = “I want to learn all about this topic in 1 month” and Long Term Goal = “I aim to be able to speak about at least 12 topics within the next year.
Make time, you will need to set some time aside, preferably on a day to day basis, so you can achieve your goal. I highly recommend blocking out actual time on your calendar every day and really commit to this. Think of it as an appointment with your doctor that you wouldn’t consider missing. That is exactly how you should treat this task. As little as 20 minutes a day is a great start.
Immerse yourself in the language, meet Arabic speaking friends, listen to the radio, watch a show on TV, and try to read the newspaper. Even if you do not fully understand the content, keep it as a daily exercise and you will eventually make sense of it all. The other great news is this listening exercise is the only way to improve your accent. Your brain will process all the information and you will notice the improvement with time.
Have a practice buddy, keep yourself motivated and accountable by practicing Arabic with a friend. It is always a good strategy to practice the language with someone who is fluent and non-judgmental. I have a friend who practices Arabic with me and I practice English with her.
(I learned about these and more on Mirykal Lingo Guide website )

Could someone who knows Modern Standard Arabic please help with the following question? In the video, quite often the transliteration and the pronunication don't match. Which is correct?
Also, it says in the video description that the translations are available as RUclips captions, but I couldn't get the English ones to display. If someone managed to do that, how did you do it?
It's an excellent idea to record common words, but the issues with pronunciation and transliteration and the absense of translation make it more difficult to use, unfortunately. I would be happy to buy a talking dictionary of MSA, so if anyone knows of one, please reply.
Translations are available as subtitles, instructions for activation are here: support.google.com/youtube/answer/100078?ref_topic=3029158
Transliteration (used in this video) is for writing arabic using the latin alphabet: it is language independent. A phonetic transcription will give you the pronunciation, using the latin alphabet also, but its different for each target language: a spanish speaker should use a different phonetic transcription than an english one to match the original correct pronunciation.
çok iyi

There are translations available as subtitles, you can activate them clicking the CC (Closed Captions) icon at the bottom right on the video player. Then, choose your language from the settings menu.

Speakers are from Morocco (Mohamed from Rabat and Mustapha from Tiznit).
سهلة ما تستصعبهاش، صعبة ما تستسهلهاش

You're welcome, Jan! This is standard arabic. Speakers are from Morocco (Mohamed from Rabat and Mustapha from Tiznit).

this videio be sport me learn arabic
Can someone please tell me what Arabic Dialect this is? I am currently studying the Fusa & I am afraid of picking up Dialects that may affect my Arabic in the future, INSHA'ULLAH... 🙏🙏🙏
BTW: It'll be alot more beneficial to everyone if the meaning of the words are in parenthesis so that we know what these words mean... Jazak'Allahu Khayran!! 🙏🙏🙏
فكرة ممتازة
but please check the correspondence between pronunciation and translation, it's often wrong
There are two different systems:
1. "Transliteration" (used for this video) takes an arabic word as written and replaces individual letters with corresponding letters from the roman alphabet, according to the system chosen (ALA-LC for this video). The english pronunciation of a "romanized" arabic word may or may not match the arabic pronunciation (it often does).
2. "Phonetic transcription/spelling" (Not used for this video) takes arabic words as pronounced and writes down similar sounds in the roman alphabet. The final spelling will depend on the target language.
An interesting article on the matter: al-bab.com/arabic-language/arabic-language-5
This is a source of confusion, so many thanks for pointing it out!
Is this MSA?
I wish the Arabic and English transliteration were separated
Merci beaucoup, très utile !!! Par contre, dommage que les mots défilent aussi vite et que la traduction française soit superposée à la translittération en alphabet romain......
حظ موفق للجميع
it is nice but please add the explanation in the form of English alphabet to it so that we can easily lean it
Great.... But Why didn't you write the Tashkils?
assalamu aleikum, the video is helpful, but, I tried to safe it ,in my device for watching offline, and this was downloaded without translate ((
I just found out by just watching around the seven minutes of the video that GHARIB is STRANGE, and I said, WHAT?!, Grabbed my booklet of English/Arabic words then, BOOM! WALLAH!, I'd been using GHARIB as NEAR, just found out its QARIB...GREAT!
if you had given meaning in English it would be great because I'm a beginner so it's difficult for me to understand the meaning of all words if you have video same like this with meaning in English you can tell me it would be great favour for me from you thanks
Translations to some languages are available as subtitles. You have to activate them clicking the CC (Closed Captions) icon at the bottom-right on the video player. Then, choose your language from the settings menu.
feqwix many of the translations are awful unfortunately
i want translation , and harakat also.
Hi @ feqwiz or anyone else if you can please tell me the dialect of these words
This is standard arabic. Speakers are from Morocco (Mohamed from Rabat and Mustapha from Tiznit).
جزاكم الله خيرا
ولكن أولا لاتتطابق طريقة الكتابة بالأحرف اللاتينية مع طريقة اللفظ الصحيحة للكلمة العربية
ثانيا لاوجود لمرادفات من أي لغة أجنبية كانت
مع تقديرنا للجهود المبذولة وللطريقة المستنبطة للتمكين من التفريق بين لفظ الأحرف العربية وغيرها من الأحرف القريبة اللفظ في لغات أخرى
The romanization is mostly incorrect and sometimes the translation is also off, but a great video to practice pronounciation nevertheless :)) Hvala
Practice pronunciation is the main purpose of this video.
Transliteration (used in this video) is not concerned with representing the sounds of the original word, only the characters, accurately and unambiguously. So, reading the transliteration won't give you the sound of the original word. The sound representation in latin script is given by a "phonetic transcription" which depends of the target language.
Thanks for your comment!
And thank you for the explaination! Peace :)
why do have English subtitles over the transliteration
This happens when watching the video on mobile phones. The position RUclips chooses for the subtitles is not the best, they should be positioned more at the bottom. A workaround is to set a smaller font size for the subtitles. Hope that helps!
is " Iftejar" arabic word?what is meaning of it?
