  • To help bring an end to co-worker abuse, the CLPNA partnered with Alberta Health Services and hosted a one-hour webinar on February 22, 2017, which is now a video (above), Confront, Address and Prevent Disruptive Behavior and Bullying in the Workplace, to create a conversation about effective approaches for eliminating bullying in the workplace. Important topics include:
The difference between bullying and disruptive behavior
How to stop attributing bullying behavior as a personality trait
Avoiding confrontation and approaching bullies from a place of compassion
Gauging the situation: waiting until tempers cool to address the issue
A vital aspect of providing quality client care is feeling valued and respected in the workplace. Respectful environments where healthcare providers are able to collaborate directly correlate with more positive patient outcomes.
