We grew up very frugal because of my mom but two things she couldn't do: cold and hungry. Those remain the same for me today. I'll be cheap with everything else.
I worked until I was 68 at a job I loved. Now I'm 70, retired, car paid off, small mortgage on my villa in Florida and living stress free. My HOA is $230/month and includes internet, cable, lawn care, water, sewer, trash, up keep of all the common areas including the clubhouse and pool, sidewalks, roads and lighting and the painting of my villa exterior every 5 years. It's an all electric house and my bill averages $75/month. June thru August you really need air conditioning most of the time. I'm 1/8 mile from the gulf. Maybe 20 minute walk. Not in a flood zone. I'm frugal but not stupidly so.
OMG! That was hilarious!! That dog is just priceless!! Okay. Toilet paper disintegrates after you've used a bidet! Invest in soft bidet towels - They're awesome! Absorbent, washable and reusable! I have two small baskets - One with fresh, folded bidet towels and one for towels to be laundered.
I have plug in switches for my microwave and a couple of other appliances. I just flip the switch when I want to use it. I was afraid I would break the microwave cord unplugging and plugging it in all the time, which wouldn't be frugal at all. My computer, tv and accompanying devices are on power strips.

I love this!!! I live in the Great State of Northern Maine...my upstairs is set at 61... and my basement bedroom is set at 56. It's good. Much warmer than outside. Hot flashes can be a good thing. 3rd edit... when Ricky pooted, I was laughing and saying, "LIGHT THE CANDLE".

I do like my heat to be 64 degrees though. I sold a residence in Silicon Valley and plan to leave N. Cal soon, have invested 2/3 of revenue (no mortgage) and will use rest for a house where I eventually move to. I'm renting in a college town near Sacramento for now living like a college student even though I'm much older. How's that for frugal living?

Instead, at 2 pm when others are in their cubicles I take walks in the local arboretum amongst the redwoods, oaks and flowering shrubs.
Prepper Princess viewer tuning in. At 5:37 " The mouse hand is the coldest" I work in retail as a greeter and my hands are constantly cold; so I started wearing the food safe vinyl gloves from our deli and I no longer have frozen fingertips!
lol i have been living at school/on rotation and when im away with the cold temps i found u can set the temp down to about 54 and open all the cabinates and not have pipes freezing. keep in mind i live above ground in an appartment so ur millage may varry.... an interesting fact is i found with this low of a temperature, you can actually see the 3-4 times per day that the refridgerator kicks on and costs about 0.2 cents worth of energy so there is a hidden savings the colder u make ur place

After buying the dual knob bidet, I have not used a single sheet of toilet paper. Bidet works much better when you have wet stools. Dry stool don't have to use more than 4 sheets of toilet paper.
You California babies slay me! Come to Northern Ohio. I kept my thermostat at 55 during the day and 50 at night. Now I live in Florida and everyone thinks I'm crazy because I have my windows open when it's 55 outside. Feels good😊
I’m in the northeast. The battery-powered vest sounds like a good investment. High temp is 68 degrees. At night, it goes down to 64. I sleep upstairs, and am comfortable. I wear wool, very thin long underwear, layer a turtle neck, wear a sweater and vest. Oh, and a scarf. I head outside with my dog roughly 4 times from early morning to noon; ditto for the afternoon. Evenings 2 to 3 times. I’ll throw on a puffer coat/jacket/gloves. The exercise we both get is worth it! Hot coffee and tea. My roaster, small oven, and crock pot help out too. Close shades and curtains where I have them. I also have draft blockers on all outside doors. Too easy and friends marvel at how I keep those costs so low.
I'm surprised being from California neither of you mentioned In n Out. It's quality fast food at a reasonable price. Also, I noticed on a short you are planting fruit trees. I got a pear tree and some strawberry plants at Costco for a really great price. The trees are a fairly good size for the price. Check it out. Look forward to your next collab. We prefer warm water and soap on a washcloth after the TP wiping is done. A warm rinse with same rinsed washcloth and a dry wipe with something out of the hamper. The only thing better is a bath.
PP is the cheapest person I'm convinced in the world. But she admitted she has a fear of running out of money. That made me sad. Give those fears to the Lord hon. ❤️ Cool colab. I didn't even know the guy. I will follow him now.

I experimented unplugging everything...too inconvenient. I would stop buying paper towels & plates but hubby won't go without them. PP is more frugal.
We do like Amber. We turn on the heater when visistors are coming. Otherwise, we put on a sweater, or heated socks.
