  • To access mywifiext.net for netgear new extender setup you need to type it into the url or address bar and not search also. Also if mywifiext is not working then it might be possible that you are typing wrong spelling or maybe your phone/computer is not connected to the extender's default network name that is netgear_ext.
    In this video we have helped you resolve issues like mywifiext won't load and mywifiext not working. If you follow the above given steps your extender will definitely start working fine.

    If you are trying new netgear extender setup but mywifiext isn't working then need not to worry. In this video we have helped you resolve the same issue.
    So first and foremost you need to reset your wifi extender. You can do that by holding the paper clip inside the reset hole for 10 secs while the extender is still plugged in to the wall.
    Now wait for power led on the extender to get stable. Now conect your phone/computer to the netgear extender default network name that is "netgear_ext".
    once connected open a browser and in the url or address bar type "mywifiext.net". If this doesnt work then try "mywifiext.com" or 192.168.1.250. You can also try "mywifiext.local" if you are a mac user.
    This will definitely take you to netgear new extender setup page. Follow the on screen instructions like creating an account. Then you will need to select the network name that you want to extend. And type its password for confirmation.
    Also while you are attempting setup via mywifiext make sure any ethernet cable should not be connected to the extender.
    In case you gave any doubts you can get in touch with official netgear. Beaware of the third party websites. They might scam you $$$ with hefty amount.

    Today, October 9 2023 I almost got caught in the scam you mentioned. Somehow a chat box opened and then they said a tech would call me. Went downhill from there when I realized I was re directed. Watch out people. The scams are everywhere.

    Thanks man, went to the online support and they did go into computer and wanted money to fix the issue. They wanted to opitmize computer, so we did ourselves, but this video did the trick. Thanks.

      Firstly cross check if you have internet on the router or not. If you do then I would recommend you to reset your extender once, you can do that by holding a paper clip inside the reset hole of the extender for around 10 secs while the ext is still plugged in to the wall...Now set up the ext again. Also make sure you dont have any ethernet cables connected to the ext. Plus if you have toggle button on the ext which helps you choose between "access point & wifi extender mode" then it should be towards extender mode. Also make sure your extender is not plugged in too far away from the router best is to place it between 10-20 feet range....Also Please do power cycle your router, modem too. You can do that by unplugging the modem and router for around a min and then plugging them back again.       Glad I could Help, nope you don't have to connect ethernet cable until you want to set it up as access point. ALTHOUGH Access point provides better internet speed then range extender mode.     None of this worked and it was the same instructions that the instruction manual shows. My laptop says it is connected, but no sites work at all.

    My router does not have WPS option. I have to use CAT5 cable. After following all steps, it still does not complete the setup. It says it is unable to do so, to double check the password which is correct, and then it fails again. Any other options? It is T-mobile home internet.

      See even if your router does not support wps setup then also you can complete the extender setup via browser method. BUT before that just reset the extender once. BY PUTTING a paper clip inside the reset hole of the extender for around 10 secs while the ext is plugged in to the wall. Also unplug any ethernet cable if connected to the extender.
      Next use ur phone or computer and then go to ur wifi list....there connect to "Netgear_ext" network. Once connected open a browser and into the url type "mywifiext.net" or 192.168.1.250 and hit enter. Then follow the on screen instructions to complete the setup. Hope that it helps.

      First you need to login in your router through the router ip address then go to the device list & you need to find out the Ip address of your extender. Then you need to enter the extender ip address in the address bar of your browser. This is the best way to change the password of your extender.

    i have an netgear extended. It was working fine. Had its issues with internet but nonetheless worked. Now al log a sudden it is connected to the router, but it says no internet connected in every device it’s connected to. However it is still connected to my actual verizon router. Just don’t allow me to have a internet connection? Any tips?

      YES, no need to worry you simply just need to reset your extender and set it up again. It will start working just fine

      @@atrain8179 In that case kindly update the firmware of the extender (ruclips.net/video/FeggZS_nJ_Q/видео.html) , Or try changing the channels on the extender. You can also try to setup your extender in access point mode or try using fastlane option on the netgear extender if your model no. Is compatible.

      Firstly Make sure you have dual band router and dual band extender. Secondly login into your router first and cross check the 5g password. Its very likely possible that you are typing the wrong 5g password. If it still doesn't work then try resetting the extender and set it up again.
