Thousands march in Israel to demand the release of Hamas hostages

- Drone footage showed thousands of people marching on the highway to Jerusalem on Saturday (November 18) calling on the Israeli government to do more to secure the release of around 240 people held hostage by Hamas militants since the attack on Israeli on October 7.
Relatives and supporters of the Hostages have been marching from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and camped just outside Jerusalem overnight before the fifth and final day of their walk towards Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office on Saturday.
Holding pictures of the hostages and missing relatives the demonstrators waved Israeli flags and chanted "We won't give up, we demand the hostages' release!"

prioritising conflict over the release of 200+ hostages raises concerns. Focusing on securing people first would be a more humanitarian approach. The current strategy risks harm to innocent lives on both sides.

This land could have been returned, and a two state solution agreed, had the Arab nations recognised Israel's right to exist. But they have refused. A two state agreement was nearly reached during Bill Clinton's time as president but Arafat reneged at the last minute. Israel left Gaza in 2005 and the Palestinians elected Hamas who have stolen billions in humanitarian aid to enrich themselves-instead of spending money to improve the lives of Gazans. It is the terrorist organisations who for decades have refused peace. They are the enemy, not Israel.
