    In this exercise video Meredith is guiding you through some beginner level seated stretches that you can do every morning when you wake up to help get you loosened up, relaxed and ready for the day.
    Stretching on a regular basis is always a good idea and getting your body stretched out in the morning is a great way to start your day. When we awaken, our bodies are usually in a relaxed but contracted state. This is because of the natural fibers in our muscles and tendons contracting at night during rest. Applying some light and relaxing stretches when you first wake up is a great way to "awaken" the body and get it ready for the activities of the day.
    Stretching also is a great way to help prevent injury during any rigorous activities that you may go through including exercising.
    As always, keep water close by and only do the movements that don't cause any pain or discomfort. Relax when you need to and have a great workout!

    It's almost evevning here in Israel. I needed this great workout after the first day in work, finally teaching in class, not in zoom, after a year and a half.

    Thank you, Meredith, for these wonderful seated morning stretches. I find myself using them at other times as well, when my body goes stiff or I have overdone it with standing exercises. I am coming close to my 80th birthday, wanting to stay fit and flexible. Love your work and appreciate you.

    I've made these stretches a part of my morning routine and I do "feel good" about it. I also now miss them if I can't do them. Thank you Meredith for sharing these stretches. I hope to add in some of your cardio and strength training soon. I also appreciate your soothing encouraging voice.

      @@SeniorFitnessWithMeredith girl when I show them you commented back they will FLIP!! I am the activity director at our senior center and we talk about you so much my boss thought “Meredith” was a member of our class!! We go your good morning stretches every morning!! We do your strength in Tuesday’s, your balance in Wednesday’s. Our class is an hour long so I usually just double up on your videos. We just started a walking into wellness class and I was thrilled to find your walking video. If you could make a few more 45 minute videos I’d be forever grateful!! Just know you are making a huge difference in the health of seniors here in Memphis. Seriously - thanks.

    Just started doing your moring and evening stretches I’m 60 years old and have had a physical job my whole life arthritis is creeping in and stiffness and hardly any flexibility. This has helped a lot I will continue these untill I can advance into more of your classes. Thank You

    Thank you very much Meredith! It was absolutely great! I found out your exercises some months ago, and I started doing some exercises every day. In the morning, I decide about which of your lessons I want to follow, and then I start. Sometimes I do something shorter, or lighter, but I do it every single day. With your wise teachings there's no chance you can injure yourself, unless you want to do what a young man/woman can do. That time has gone forever, we (seniors) have to accept that we're getting older and older. Anyway I have many physical issues, so I do everything with calm. Today I found this new lesson (for me), and I did it. It was really good, I liked it. I'm not surprised though, because all that you do is always absolutely perfect for seniors! I use dumbbells too, and I follow the exercises for beginners and seniors. We have to remember that from a certain age it's easy to lose muscles, and really very hard to gain them. My advice to seniors like me (over 60, and from a former Geriatrician)... follow the lessons with Meredith in which she uses dumbbells, not only stretching. And very important, if you are a Senior (I'm not talking to someone who is already trained, of course), Seated Core And Abs Workout for Seniors And Beginners is fantastic, and really helpful, believe me! With Meredith, obviously!

    I did this in the afternoon after my walk. I'll do it in AM.
    Our instructor in exercise class did similar; sure miss her. Pandemic closed this gym she was at; she was the reason I went to the classes. Thanks for the video!

    I'm in Canada. Can you recommend which bands are best to buy. Would like it to be 60 inches in length
