IB Raging Brachydios definitely one of the best fights in the whole series. I mean what a glo up. They didn't have to go that hard, but they did, and damn, I love it to death.
Yes but he is much easier than before (ones in 4U and GenU event are not so easy), so I wished the boring and easy first part would be shorter than the fun final phase. Because in IB, it feels like he becomes Raging in the end instead of being it from the start, if you get my drift. Nonetheless, this final phase is one of the best fights in World.
It's all nothing but spectacle to me, I always hated Raging and IB was no different. He was easier in his second phase but it was annoying when he roars while you're in an animation lock without earplugs and the room blows up. Stuns in MHWI are so excessively annoying that I just ran crutch skills to bypass them for the longest time.
@@D1ab0lical you have to make sure you're not standing in the slime. he does one roar that summons a bunch of slime, and at that point its up to you to stay off the slime until the next roar that blows it up
Really loved how much they reworked Raging Brachydios from an awful to amazing fight in Iceborne and it gives me hope they can do that for other said monsters Some neat things about the final phase is he'll take more damage from his own explosions depending on how many parts are broken, and before it was patched there was an exploit where you could command your palico to place traps and you could capture him in the final area, but it would cause the quest to fail

I like to think the quest failed cuz like the guild manager slapped you over the head and reprimanded you or something. Along with this… it’s not cool at all man. You denied Brachydios his battle to the death.

The ORAORAORA at the final phase made it feel like this is truly a powerful monster. The only thing I didn't like is that when he does the roar to explode all of the slime you get stunned and cannot dodge
Honestly, I can definitely relate. I have a lot of praise for Iceborne, but I just didn't have as much fun with it as with other MH games. I also had my phase where I thought I outright hated it, but then realized I just hated the Clutch Claw as well and how the game tries super hard to make you rely on it at all times. Once I made peace with the fact that there's just one gameplay element I personally didn't like, it became much easier to appreciate everything else the game did really well.
@@LonesomeDevil once I discovered mods to revert the CC changes it all becomes a lot smoother. Some monsters are an absolute pain with CC (looking at you, Ruiner) but when the mechanic is a bonus instead of a requirement everything feels a lot better

I've put countless hours into every single non-spinoff MH game, all the way from MH1 up to Sunbreak. To this day I still do not know how Capcom expected Blademasters to fight 4U and GU's Critical Brachy. I'm so glad he got a massive improvement in Iceborne, since Brachydios is my favorite monster. I love the way the Brachydium armor looks too, definitely one of my favorite designs.

I prefer it when Capcom designs monsters where cutting or breaking parts will reduce or remove the monsters ability. It felt like some iterations of the monsters in the last few games was, "Yeah you x the x, but the monster can still do x and nothing's changed."
I still remember 4U g-rank Brachy. I'd fought him so many times in TriG, 3U, and earlier in 4 that I was use to him not being able to run at me. So the first time he did it I let out a small scream in terror
awesome video as always! I am starting to wonder how many monsters are left with enough appearances to warrant a video like this, few examples I can come up with are Volvidon, Khezu, and Barroth. Edit: Oh, Shogun Cenataur and maybe Plesioth too now that I think about it
4th gen raging was awful, 5th was way more fair. Blast scorage was a very odd and unnessary change to how slimeblight worked, we did not need 5 rolls, that's overkill. Also you forgot 2 Iceborne Raging Brachydios moves -The triple headbutt attack which has some tracking. -His Phase 1 nova where if you have not been hitting the slime off his body he then does a nova attack similar to regular brachydios but 3 times in a row.
My favorite thing about him is that in Frontier, he's a G Rank Exotic Species huntable at GR100, is that he can furiously punch the ground to pump massive amounts of slime to generate a huge AOE explosion. It's easy to avoid, but funny to look at. Also I think they got his roar wrong, might need to check again.
While it's a bit too goofy in sense of the ecology, I still love this monster a lot (Steve is my favorite flagship). Iceborne is easily the best iteration of this monster, bit normal and raging
Never liked this thing, it doesn't look like a main line monster, it looks like a Digimon. Slime being absurd in 3U HR and early MR didn't help either.
I started with World so that was my only exposure with Raging. Holy shit the presentation of that fight is amazing. My jaw hit the floor the first time I fought it.
I have an extreme love hate relationship with Brachy. World was my first, I only ever heard of brachy in that time until I fought him in Iceborne and eventually raging, He became one of my favorites really quickly with his fight and design being pretty different from other brutes ive experienced at the time. Raging taught me of to lance really aggressively and it was really fun. Until I fought him in 4u. Brachy is now my most hated in old world as, while at heart, a lance main but also a greatsword main now too. Jesus Christ he moves so much and does lil backsteps and hops that its such a bitch to catch up with either weapon. I want his lightbreak lance but I am dreading the idea of fighting him lmao .
Now imagine fighting it back in 3 Ultimate, where his explosions were unblockable and if he punched your blocking shield, you would successfully block the attack, but it would still inflict Blastblight. I'm still so traumatized I never even bothered bringing a Lance against him in any future iteration.
I feel like The lvl 140 guild quest Brachy in MH4U could've been mentioned in here cuz he's ridiculously fast & I had to cheese it with traps to make it stand still for a sec, it's truly somethin else.
It's very weird and interesting how often Barroth came back ever since its introduction in Tri. I guess it's because it's still the only early-game Brute Wyvern. (Unless you consider World's Anjanath as part of the early-game)
The reasons the clutch claw makes fighting Brachydios a not pleasant experience in Iceborne are: 1) His bigs arms make very easy to clutch on them rather than the head, thus making tenderizing the head and wallbang difficult. 2) The legs and the body cannot be clutched to, thus if the clutch claw hits them, you clutch to the tail instead, hence the clutch claw meme "trying to clutch to the head/arm, end up on the tail". 3) Brachydios is very fast, making tenderizing outside of claggers and temporal/rocksteady mantles almost impossible. 4) Just like most of the other monsters in Iceborne, Brachydios hitzones were nerfed to take into account tenderizing so if you ignore the clutch claw, you deal below average damage (and even if you try to tenderize, as having 100% uptime on tenderizing is difficult because of 1),2),3)).
I heard something in the grapevine a while ago about monster themes and their fights: "It's all fun and games until you hear Latin in the background." Brachy, and by extension Raging Brachy, is my all-time favorite monster and the fact that they brought in his canon lore (therein being that his slimeblight when in his Raging state actively harms him) for his variant fight is the cherry on top of the whole thing.
Some advice if you’d like it, you say that “the music you’re hearing now-“ that’s the thing, it’s hard to hear. Your voice is significantly louder than the music. Even at full volume with my airpods on, I can barely make lit the music. I’ve also noticed this in other videos you’ve done regarding monster hunter. Not sure if anyone else has noticed this
there is an exploit that lets you capture raging brachidios but it's not easy. you have to have the trap tool on you cat and the timing is tricky but there is a way to get the cat to set the trap so it won't be destroyed when he seals you in the zone. another challenge of pulling this off is that when the phase starts he's not in capturable health threshold yet so you have tokeep fighting him until he reaches it while preventing him from entering and using up the trap early. this was clearly not meant to happen since it is a slay quest that will actually cause you to fail the quest if you pull this off.

You didn't mention how they changed the roars that brachy used when he sees you and in rage. 3u brachy uses the small roar when he sees u, large in rage. MH4 is the opposite
My main issue with it is the clutch claw basically disrupts the flow of combat in a very awkward and unintuitive way, with the exceptions of Lance and Hammer, which have unique Clutch Claw moves that actually synergize with the weapons really well. Seriously, Claw Counter may as well be a drug as a Lance main, and slamming into a monster's face with the shield is just... incredible.
GU Brachydios is one of my most favorite monsters throughout the series, provided that he's fought in certain areas. In general I hate 4u's maps too much as they I don't think they interact with his move set well, and I think iceborne brachy is lame, even ignoring clutch claw. That only leaves 3u as second best, but mainly because 4th gen brachy is just generally better. I wish Iceborne raging was fought in just one area, the zone transitions just feel repetitive after the first few hunts.
The Elder Dragon of Monster Hunter in everything but name, no captures, no escaping, the floor is lava and the theme slaps harder than Truck-kun on his way to isekai the next main character. Edit: Loved that part where you brought Hot Drinks by mistake 😂
IB's Raging Brachydios is the most epic, but I can't say it's my favourite because of some things I dislike about World/IB. Plus, 4U has a special place in my heart and it was the first time I noticed how cool its music theme is.
Brachydios is my second favorite brute wyvern. I struggle a lot against the regular one in IB, but not against IB Raging. He’s a little too fast for me in IB. But still very fun. I would say GU is my favorite, mostly because that’s the first time I’ve fought him.
I love brachy in all the games but one thing that threw me off is his big jump attack speed change from 4u to GU, in GU it feels slower and more floaty while in 4u he's like a torpedo launched at you

4U reduced the size of his Horn Laser as well. And you could allways block his Explosions, just not if your blighted. I found 3Us Version to be the best balanced. Hes not too fast, and you Fight him in good Areas. But he doesnt hold a Candle to both Raging Versions. His Variant is just too good. Raging Brachy in Iceborn is not only bigger then before, if you fail to do enough Damage he gains a unique Super Move what allows him to use countless Explosions across the entire Zone. Its easy to miss if your good in fighting him. I personaly never saw it more then once in Singleplayer. Yay me^^ Ohhh you gave up on the Armor Sequence? Would be a Shame.
It literally doesn't matter if you can only block its explosions when not blighted when it could inflict blastblight through your Shield. I tried the Lance against him the first time I fought one in 3U and I still have PTSD from that. If you mained the Lance, 3U's Brachy was easily the most bullcrap fight in the entire series. Can't block his punches without getting blighted, then can't block the explosions if you were blighted, and you'd get immediately punished for sheating to try to heal. It was almost impossible.
@@LonesomeDevil Yeah, I farmed Decos to get rid of Blastblight and hes so much more enjoyable that way. But he does a bit of knockback whit his Punches and Guard + is hard to combine whit stuff.

Rarely does a game make me drop my jaw. But that final IB R-Bracky phase made me really sweaty. He didn't run away, he lured me.
My top 5 favorite monsters are (in order) Valstrax, Kulve Taroth, (Raging) Brachydios, Shagaru Magala, and Malzeno. Love these videos!

Brachy isnt adding slime when he licks his fists. He's priming the slime with his saliva.

You didn't mention how they changed the roars that brachy used when he sees you and in rage. 3u brachy uses the small roar when he sees u, large in rage. MH4 is the opposite
With the jabs at it over the past few videos at this point I'm waiting for a video on the clutch claw mechanic and why so many players don't like it
My main issue with it is the clutch claw basically disrupts the flow of combat in a very awkward and unintuitive way, with the exceptions of Lance and Hammer, which have unique Clutch Claw moves that actually synergize with the weapons really well.
Seriously, Claw Counter may as well be a drug as a Lance main, and slamming into a monster's face with the shield is just... incredible.
GU Brachydios is one of my most favorite monsters throughout the series, provided that he's fought in certain areas. In general I hate 4u's maps too much as they I don't think they interact with his move set well, and I think iceborne brachy is lame, even ignoring clutch claw. That only leaves 3u as second best, but mainly because 4th gen brachy is just generally better.
I wish Iceborne raging was fought in just one area, the zone transitions just feel repetitive after the first few hunts.
The Elder Dragon of Monster Hunter in everything but name, no captures, no escaping, the floor is lava and the theme slaps harder than Truck-kun on his way to isekai the next main character.

IB's Raging Brachydios is the most epic, but I can't say it's my favourite because of some things I dislike about World/IB. Plus, 4U has a special place in my heart and it was the first time I noticed how cool its music theme is.
Brachydios is my second favorite brute wyvern. I struggle a lot against the regular one in IB, but not against IB Raging. He’s a little too fast for me in IB. But still very fun. I would say GU is my favorite, mostly because that’s the first time I’ve fought him.
So you've done the blunt missile wyvern of 3U; when are you going to do a video on the sharp dogfighter wyvern of 4U?

I love brachy in all the games but one thing that threw me off is his big jump attack speed change from 4u to GU, in GU it feels slower and more floaty while in 4u he's like a torpedo launched at you
Been getting punched by IB Raging Brachy for the last month, still haven't seen it die ...
3u brachydios always had a better feeling fight to me than 4u, but that might just be nostalgia from gem and mantle farming.
IB Raging Brach took me like 4 hours to beat him. Very tough fight until you get used to him and the final stage is epic

It would be pretty cool. But I think since he was added to iceborne they might not add him to sunbreak.

4U reduced the size of his Horn Laser as well. And you could allways block his Explosions, just not if your blighted.
I found 3Us Version to be the best balanced. Hes not too fast, and you Fight him in good Areas. But he doesnt hold a Candle to both Raging Versions. His Variant is just too good.
Raging Brachy in Iceborn is not only bigger then before, if you fail to do enough Damage he gains a unique Super Move what allows him to use countless Explosions across the entire Zone.
Its easy to miss if your good in fighting him. I personaly never saw it more then once in Singleplayer. Yay me^^

It literally doesn't matter if you can only block its explosions when not blighted when it could inflict blastblight through your Shield. I tried the Lance against him the first time I fought one in 3U and I still have PTSD from that. If you mained the Lance, 3U's Brachy was easily the most bullcrap fight in the entire series. Can't block his punches without getting blighted, then can't block the explosions if you were blighted, and you'd get immediately punished for sheating to try to heal. It was almost impossible.
@@LonesomeDevil Yeah, I farmed Decos to get rid of Blastblight and hes so much more enjoyable that way. But he does a bit of knockback whit his Punches and Guard + is hard to combine whit stuff.
