    Your videos are very inspiring. I used to paint Racing RC car Lexan bodies. Got really good at multi layer designs and working with airbrush's and all the Creatix colors. but just recently got bit by the motorcycle and helmet painting bug and have started the transition to solvent based paints etc. It's weird to have to think backwards for me (RC cars you paint from the inside onto the clear lexan body so all the drop shadows etc are reversed.) The bug bit hard enough that I built a small paint shed with ventilation etc and have just started painting a few test pieces to dial in my guns and paint viscosity. And every time I get a notification and watch one of your videos I get so excited and inspired! Thanks so much for taking the time to film, edit post these! (I'm a cameraman for a living so i know what it takes!) They really help people like me who understand painting, but want to refine their system. CHEERS!

      Thank you for the nice comments. After 25 years it is easier now than it used to be. There's a constant flow of work coming in these days.

    Welcome back! Quick question, what program/software do you used to do the helmet designs?

    • @helmetgurucanada

      I use both Illustrator and Photoshop. Everything starts with a good old sketch.

    How do you prevent the clear coat from building up at the masked rivet areas? Looks like the clear goes under the rivets in your helmet photos.

    • @helmetgurucanada

      That comes from experience. What you are referring to, I have done in the past. You need to be patient when applying clear and go progressively.

    Nice Job! Question, what do you call the tool with the Pencil attached to it for making your horizotal lines? its on the table behind your turn table

    • @helmetgurucanada
      @helmetgurucanada  3 года назад

      I call it my GHLU or Guaranteed Horizontal Line Unit :-) I have no idea what the name of thing is. I got it made years ago by a buddy of mine machinist. I quickly drew something for him and he made it from scratch. Sorry I can't help any more than that.

      @@craigquik there is some intercoat clear when I tape it there. That's why it looks shiny. 😁

    Hi. You are making a cool video, theres one question. What brand and dual tape masking number? Thanks

    • @helmetgurucanada
      @helmetgurucanada  3 года назад +1

      The yellow masking is the ProGrade paint mask from RTape.
