Killed Orphan on attempt nr 7. I actually had more trouble with Cleric Beast. But Bloodborne was my first souls game, so i was still getting used to the gameplay. Everything got a bit easier for me after Gascoigne in a way, because i was used to the gameplay by then.
@@Melopingon Nah, I experienced the same. NG+2, first time doing the DLC, Burial Blade as a main weapon, first try Orphan of Kos. He punishes you very hard, but his moveset is predictable as fuck because he's still very "human-like" both in appearance and in size, so he is limited in his actions. Most bosses are difficult because they are monstrous so you can't even IMAGINE what attacks they could do on you. Kos just slaps you and sometimes throws some eggs. If you have good movements he's really not that difficult. Lady Maria is harder just because she's faster. Way, way, way faster
@@dragonMaster24921 and for good(?) reason. according the game's data, they are the equivalent to boxes. jars. any breakable object. its why they dont give any echoes and cant be locked onto. they are just animated objects. them basically being boxes is also why you can roll into them to kill them. just like rolling into any breakable object breaks them.
I love how most one shot boss videos are like 30 seconds long, and the answer is "yes" But orphan needs a 22 minute explanation that took like 20 hours of research and testing.
Laurence's HP total is insane. Ever run out of bullets at 99 Arcane before phase 3? The moment when the max int wizard gets outplayed by the sheer bulk of this boy.
Nah the dabbing should have been Micolash. He starts winding up randomly during your final fight with him, and if you don't make sure your character is turned away from him when he completes the dab your frenzy meter instantly maxes out.
Doll Set is my favorite armor set. Always funny to see everyone selling it since it sells for an insane amount of blood echoes for being one of the worst equipment in the game.
I remember my first time killing Kos.. he bugged out in Phase 1 so he got that idle animation and I was just uhhh, deffo worth the questionable amounts of deaths I had on my first Kos fight.

A little late but there is a way to get multiple eye runes from master Wilhelm. Also the cane in whip form gains a 15% bonus to skill scaling thus giving it the strongest visceral attacks in the game particularly against beasts
When I was playing through Bloodborne and the DLC, I was mentally preparing for the moment I'd face Orphan of Kos because of how hard everyone was saying it was. I walked into the arena and beat it on my first try. I have to think RNG was REALLY in my favor on that one because I know I don't suck but to beat what is considered one of the hardest bosses in all of SoulsBourne in the first go is an odd occurrence
@@lewispooper3138 I know it's a bold thing to say. I found the clip where I killed him that my PS5 created but it's only the last part where I dealt the final blow and doesn't prove it was my first go. I regret not recording it but I also had 0 idea I'd be able to do it in my first go.
A similar thing happened to me, I got him on the second try and had no clue what was going on during his final phase but somehow, I got through it. 99% sure it would be a different story if I went through it again. Malenia though? An 8 hour ordeal.

Ah, I’ll never get over how confusing and fascinating the chalice dungeons were at first. It only added to the feeling that they were something you weren’t supposed to see. An ancient, decaying ecosystem of other-worldly eldritch abominations, eternally locked away and left to their own devices. You can practically smell the mildew on the walls in Isz. And I’ll never forget how absolutely smacked my cheeks were from fighting Amygdala in the defiled chalice the first go-round.
Same. I just beat him and it definitely required a change in approach. I think Orphan is tougher but the Defiled Amygdala took more tries to understand.

Having just finished bloodbourne for the first time, dlc bosses included, not some 10 hours ago, and having the time I spent on orphan be more than the entire rest of the dlc, this is some serious therapy right now.
The strength stat also helps with viseral damage although not as much as skill. The threaded cane has a hidden modifier to viseral damage in whip form.
No! The hardest boss is Lawrence, i did the Orphan in my second try in Ng +6, Lawrence is still waiting for me after maybe 80 try that i paused the game, i don't play BB anymore I need to regroup my shit
So my 1st playthrough of Bloodborne went smoothly. The only bosses who gave me trouble was Gascoigne, Logarious, and Rom. My weapons were Hunters Axe, and Spear Rifle. I ran with the Blunderbuss and Wooden Shield. Armor was The tomb prospector, with Executioner greaves and boots, with the rumpled hat. Stats were Vit 40 End 35 Str 45 Skill 25 Bloodtinge 15 Arcane 12 I ran with pebbles, knives, lantern, and a few hunters marks.

Kin are enemies that used to be human and were experimented on to try and ascend them to the realms of great ones, with varying degrees of success. Orphan was never a human, he is the child/construct of a great one itself so doesn't count. The only kin bosses as far as I'm aware are rom, celestial emissary, and living failures.

That was me for the Nameless King. Never again. Any other run took many tries because of varying reasons.

Orphan was never a human, he is the child/construct of a great one itself so doesn't count. The only kin bosses as far as I'm aware are rom, celestial emissary, and living failures.
I'll be taking this advice for granted on my playthrough of Bloodborne The Old Hunters.
