Do you know how many times I've done this song?
You might know that I did Hyrule Temple (or Palace Theme, whichever you want to call it) back in 2013, and you might also know that was a remake of a version I did in 2010... which might lead you to believe this is my 3rd Hyrule Temple remix.
But actually, this is one of the first game songs I EVER made a cover of, before GaMetal even existed. I'm talking before 2009, I can't remember the year exactly, but it was sometime between 2005-2008.
So here we are, back at the Temple for the fourth time. Enjoy! :)

Guys i know this is a Zelda 2 theme but when i hear it i instantly think of the Temple stage from Melee and the event where you fight Dark Link. Also this remix is amazing.
I just think of bouncing around non-stop and nobody dying 'cause we'd camp the cramped area at high percentage lol
I'd imagine that's probably where the track is better known from nowadays, or at least where it WAS better known from from Melee's release through to Zelda II's being made so widely available via Nintendo's various Virtual Console services over the years. While it is indeed not where the song originated from, I don't think it's at all unusual for there to be where you KNOW it from, for whatever that's worth!

EASILY one of my favorite Zelda dungeon themes from the series, just a shame that it is from such an outlier game that most people overlook

To be fair, even though people may overlook Zelda 2... they definitely don't overlook *Smash Bros.* Temple is one of the most iconic stages!

Excellent remix of a track that's honestly hard to forget. I played Zelda II as a kid and sadly never finished it due to it being a rental from Blockbuster at the time, but the Palace Theme is one I never forgot from the NES days.

I used to hate Zelda II but after watching speedruns I've come to have an appreciation for it.
Zelda II was a game ahead of its time, and not in a good way exactly. Even still, it's not a bad game, and I'd love to see its ideas perfected.

Obligatory request time. Never Let Up! from Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, basically any Mario Kart song (c'mon, it's been 4 years), and basically any song from Sonic Rush (Vela-Nova is the popular pick, but my personal preference would be What U Need) would all be great.
Zelda 2 was the Elden Ring of its time. the world wasnt ready for it yet though.

This theme is pure nostalgia. Smash nostalgia. The good kind, remembering playing games with family and friends as a child.
I spent so many hours getting crushed to this theme as a kid. It taught me to be more resilient and my willpower to win.

Now granted, like many, I know this song more so for Smash than Zelda, so I won't exactly have the same nostalgic feeling others might that actually heard this song in the source game, but you cannot deny that the song still slaps regardless, especially in this remix form. Absolute classic.
This has to be one of my favorite video game themes of all time.

You mentioning this is the 4th time you've covered this... it kinda reminds me of a mundane personal story of mine...
Every so often, i visit my local Arboretum, and my favorite area in it is this big waterfall. Every time i visit, i make a point to draw that same waterfall, even though it hasn't changed since i was a kid, and every time, i draw it a little differently, with a little more detail, and a better idea of scale and composition
I bet that's how Jonny feels after covering this song four times. It's the same song, sure, but it's gonna be different each time because he grows as an artist in between! And it if sounds similar to the last time, that's because there were good freakin' musical ideas in it! Why scrap them? They're only improved by new equipment, better audio and mixing quality, and a more fine-tuned ear for even better musical ideas!
Anyways, this cover rules, the bass especially got really punched up and I love it a lot!!!!

This one is really great. I remember listening to this when I first came out, and I quite liked it. Back then when I was getting into Smash, I frequently listened to the temple theme that was remixed in melee, so it's nice to be reminded of that again

OK! So I listen to A Symphonic Metal Tribute to Legend of Zelda by this RUclipsr by LTrain I think his name was. Like somewhere closer to the end it sounds exactly like this theme.
