Never happy until you don’t have it. Shame all of you. Never buy a tundra for the gas mileage , get a Prius if you are looking for gas savings. I own a tundra myself. Like your videos.
Beautiful truck. Sadly, I think the early 2020s will be remembered as the last breath of legendary Toyota reliability and quality. While I don't think Toyota will ever be a brand as bad as Chrystler or Audi, I do think the days of 300,000+ mile Toyotas is essentially at an end. The new turbo hybrids are more or less assured to have major problems 100k-200k in, with few lasting to 250k. It's why I'll never sell my 5th gen 4Runner and why I'd never sell that Thundra if I had one.
I agree wholeheartedly. I’ve always said that if someone wants the last of a N/A V8 truck from Toyota to find a late model yr ‘20/‘21. at least they allowed to GX hold strong for a couple more yrs too

It’s a keeper. As usual, I agree with everything you stated. The relative simplicity of the technology, and the same with the body compared to the “busy” new Tundras, is so much better. The supposed gas mileage saved with the turbo garbage is truly de minimis. We have to remember the numbers published by OEMs in that regard border on fantasy since they’re not based on real driving. I would have to say that's a very nice truck!!! The only thing that turns me on for both eyes the gas mileage and unfortunately the gas is only going to go up on price never going to go cheap again why can't justify driving a truck that big unless I'm going to pull a fifth wheel trailer, but just driving it around town way too much money on gas!! But that Toyota is a very nice truck just with the price of everything going up gas keeps going up funeral soon it's going to cost you $20 to start it!!! 😂
I watched your videos of you heading out to buy it and driving it back. Great truck for all the reasons you mentioned in your video. My dad owns a 1794 edition and it is a great truck. I’m looking to purchase a used one myself potentially because I appreciate simplicity in things. The 2022 and onward is too tech heavy and overcomplicated with the powertrain which has proven unreliable, but I’m sure Toyota will work the bugs out as time goes on. Where would you recommend looking for a 2021 Tundra TRD PRO that is in good condition? Also did you get the undercarriage sprayed since you reside in an area that gets snow?
Hey untamed! Question for you... I just bought a 2020 1794 tundra and I want to upgrade the suspension to a more off-road capable one. Nothing too crazy, but the stock suspension doesn't do a great job on the poor roads around where I live. What do you recommend? I've been looking at the Billstein 6112 in front, and 5160's in back. Thanks in advance.
@@MrMikeo09 hey man! That’ll be a very nice setup… I know a few folks who have upgraded to an Old Man Emu kit and loved it… also know a couple people who did an icon kit… both stage 8-9. Sort of depends on your budget, but the Bilsteins will be great!
If it's a numbers excercise, you will get the most money for it right now. As/if the disaster prediction for the new Toyotas diminishes, the premium on that truck will probably follow. If numbers matter not, you can drive it forever if you so choose. The new ones, I love, but they are much more complex, will they do 300k? I think so. However, I'm basing that opinion on MY past experience with Toyota and Lexus as opposed to that of the soothsayer. The safe is great for a firearm if one was so inclined. Beautiful family, that's the gold, enjoy it, they are gone and out in the world in what seems like a blink of the eye.
In 10 years time if you still had this, you would be smiling everytime you hear that roaring V8 and the rest of the world is driving an aluminum fridge.
Thank you! Why do people even watch peeps like these? Watch reviews, but not am I keeping it or not videos. Makes no sense since folks like this will always move on to something newer just for the views. 😒 Even if it's worse.
I’d seriously be interested in buying this should you ever decide to sell. Seriously. Please get in contact with me if you ever do. Would make a fun episode too !

I’ve had a 201 tundra trd limited off road 4x4 in cavalry blue, I miss the truck it was beautiful and the v8 but honestly it wasn’t a perfect truck by any means, the payload was absolute trash and a joke, it was too huge to off road with such a long wheel base and not even a mechanical limited slip for being a trd off road.
Never get rid of it. The cost of anything else will not justify it.
Keep it. Wish I could buy it from you. Out of my price range though lol
Haha thankfully it's here to stay! =] Hope you're able to snag one soon though. You will absolutely love it.
Untamed! You have the one! If you want a pick up what else is there? Don't sell it my man. Oh, update on that Underground 4-Runner... it sold! Lol...
Haha thanks brother. I'm super happy with this truck. No plans to sell this time around! =]
What a cute kid. He's got a great little smile.
When you were showing the 5.7L V8 engine I noticed that the positive battery cable cover was off. Any reason for that?
No reason. I had jumped a car ith this a few months ago... I Hadn't noticed... good eye!
👍🤠
Any rubbing with the 295’s?
Nice set up . Are you running those tire size on a stock trd ?
How about that 4.30 axle ratio? You don't like that?
Absolutely love that -I should have mentioned. Thx
If California didn't charge full sales tax on paid price for each car purchase, I'd trade cars more often too.
Michigan too. 😢
I'd buy one of these over the new Tundra any day.
So- how many miles on it when purchased? Has 10k now? Or you put 10k on it?
It had around 3500 miles on it when I bought it. Now 10K.
Start the countdown !
Haha not this time! Challenge accepted!
Those are some tanks !!!!!
Haha thanks man. Amen to that! =]
Keep the Tundra and the 4runner.
They're both here to stay! =]
In 10 years time if you still had this, you would be smiling everytime you hear that roaring V8 and the rest of the world is driving an aluminum fridge.
Amen to that! =]
I’ve been watching long enough to know the answer to this question. You treat vehicles like toilet paper! 😂
How is your fuel economy with those tires?
Averaging 13-14mpg atm =\
Any rubbing on your 295 70 18 tires thinking of the same setup
Surprisingly enough... No rubbing!
Do you have a lift or level kit with the 295 70 18?
Damn....your dogs have the same face as you! How cute!
Eh you’re a RUclipsr and a content creator. Eventually you will get rid of it to keep your content running 🤷🏻♂️
Thank you! Why do people even watch peeps like these? Watch reviews, but not am I keeping it or not videos. Makes no sense since folks like this will always move on to something newer just for the views. 😒 Even if it's worse.
Yeah and this one even exploits his kids. Sad. Actually I am done watching after 1 minute. Peace out.
@@JohnWalsh2019bye 👋
Yeah I’m a bad RUclipsr… if I was a “good RUclipsr” I’d consistently buy new vehicles. Instead I keep buying the same old rigs because I like em! lol
@@UntamedMotors later grifter.
I’d seriously be interested in buying this should you ever decide to sell. Seriously. Please get in contact with me if you ever do. Would make a fun episode too !
Haha I’ll keep you in mind but as of now, no plans to part with it.
Re: your new Sequoia - have I missed any updates on when you were taking delivery of the new suv and had those engine concerns when you opened the hood?? Has that been discussed? Any more concerns ?
The 4Runner or Sequoia? No concerns with either. Thankfully the engine debris recall is only subject to the 22 and 23 Tundras. No Sequoias.
@@UntamedMotors sorry! I was remembering the video of your new 4Runner that you did about 1mo ago “put my money where my mouth is…”
Around the 11:29 minute mark you are looking at the engine and noticing some scuffs (“cracked out”) - did dealer or Toyota discuss this further with you? Is it normal? Just curious - I just got confused on which model, you have too many 😂😂
It appears that you/your dealer overtighten the oil filler cap. My dealer has done it too.
Good eye, thanks for mentioning!
best pickup
What size tires are you running this time around?
These are 295/70r18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers
@@UntamedMotorsI have the same truck. I struggle with getting the stock size 275-65r18 or the 295-70r18 like you have. I don't want clearance or ride quality issues.
Keep this Tundra for the long haul brother ! You know what u got and hold on to it imo !
That’s the plan. I have zero desire to sell. =]
@Untamed Motors please don't sell! Been trying to find this exact build for 15months. If you do, I'll fly with a bank note to buy it. #dreammachine
No plans to sell. Super happy with this Tundra. I’ll keep you in mind if that time ever comes though.
Where is the Bison ??? Hows it doing ???
She gone... Still miss that truck on occasion. Was a blast to drive.
@@UntamedMotors Aw man!!!!!!! I was hoping you would do a review on it. Thanks for your reply
The ajt pieces? Do they just 3M tape right over top?
@@terrynichol577 the vent rings yeah, the shift gate clips over the stock chrome… the other pieces require you to pull the center and replace.
Its better than any of the new Tundra's but not solid like a previous gen Land Cruiser, V6 4 Runner, or the V8 GX
Don’t sell it man. I have a 2016 tundra TRD off-road. It has the same exact interior as your truck. I have the same exact exhaust. 104,000 miles. I tow 10,000 lbs camper 12 times a year. I couldn’t ask for a better truck. I put airbags on it and it tows incredible. You just have to be smart. My tundra has the billstiens not the fox shocks. Does your truck have a 38 gallon tank?
Nice! Glad to hear you've been loving yours. It really is the Perfect Truck! It does have the 38 gallon tank, yes.
If you want to get rid of it, let me know! I will buy it.
Haha no plan to sell atm.. But I will keep you in mind -if that time comes. Thx
The exact truck I'm looking to get. You sell that and you'll regret it for years to come.
You’re absolutely right about that. No plans to part with it! =]
Can you imagine a 2.5 gen tundra with 3 gen interior… 🤔🤔🤔
Man that’d be pretty awesome.
That would be a great setup. I currently have a 24 Tundra but may end up going to a 20 to 21 if any problems arise. I still love overall look of the previous Gen.
@@hardwaterfanatic both gens look good but there’s something about the last gen that makes me like it a bit more.
Awesome truck. Just put a supercharger and cold air intake and would smash the new tundra and still be cheaper!!! Great looking....
@@richardstralow6314 Thanks man! I’d love to experience a supercharged V8 Tundra. Heard only good things! 👌
The truck was unnecessarily big but they put a tiny bed in the back. It’s a good family mover and road trip freeway truck for light Home Depot runs but that’s where it shines
I hear you on that. It's not perfect and not the ideal pick for many folks... It was an acquired taste for me too tbh.
I wonder what mods and qualifications your wife had to go through?
Haha she just had to put up with my Crazy! =]
You literally have two of the best Toyotas ever made. Selling either is massive L on your part.
Thanks man. Agreed. No plan to sell either! =]
you new here? hes going to sell it man.
You would be foolish to sell the most reliable, discontinued pick up ever made. Keep it forever.
Agreed. It's here to stay this time! Challenge accepted! =]
Nice truck!! What color is that?👍🏼
@@anthonyv2645 thanks brother! 🙏 it’s called Lunar Rock
Hey man I'm new to the channel so excuse this question; What do you use the truck for? (do you have a business) because I'm aware you also have an SUV
It’s my daily driver. Use my truck bed all the time… love the functionality of it.
@@UntamedMotors Great to hear! It's a nice truck, we're I'm from we have tiny tricks compared to that, (hilux, Isuzu D-max) I wish sometimes we had stuff like this looks awesome.
Listen to me!!!! Supercharge this thing before you sell it !!!
Man I’d love to try that! Hmmm 🤔
Willing to buy! Looking to truly enjoy one of these. Coming out of a 2001 sequoia. Please reach out if you change your mind. Seriously. 😊
Leveling kit?
No suspension work. Stock TRD pro Fox suspension here.
Supercharge it!!
Gotta upgrade that to a cold air intake it’s a big difference in power 3:48
I’ll look into doing that. Would be cool to experience!
