Thank you for your amazing videos. St Magnus Cathedral on the Orkneys has a great story as well. That they found his skeleton on a pillar makes it even more fascinating. I love Scotland. Scara Brae is amazing as well !
Must have been fun dodging all that night soil 😂 ! Thank You for all your efforts in making these videos ! Really appreciate it ! Have a great upcoming weekend ! 🇺🇲 / 🏴
"If you have to live in a City it's not half bad". Better than a stick in the eye. Was talking to a man at the Arthur Conan Doyle center last Friday....WHO were the Men that built these buildings??? The Old Town.....The New Town? What are THEIR STORIES? These Craftsmen....These Artisans....These MASTERS!?
i have visited many beautiful cities (including Prague, Brashov, Paris, Rouen, Bucharest, Oxford, Bath, Winchester, Bristol, Colchester............), some beautiful places, none compare to Edinburgh
I lived for a time in Edinburgh...and I loved it...this where two of my children were born so a lot of sentimental memories were from that time...had to move when my husband was posted to Germany.... I've got friends and family there so I've still have a welcome connection...😃🌠
Brilliant video once again, Robert. This year for Halloween I am celebrating my Scottish heritage. My favorite story is of my ancestor from Scotland who had for his nearest neighbors a family from Birmingham. They had no idea how to live in a country where they had to fend for themselves. During one tragedy, they did not know what to do so they hit upon, "Send for Mr. Park. He's Scottish. He's always lived in the wilds."
I remember walking along the road that runs crosswise of the Royal Mile. I walked through the graveyard where Gray Friars Bobby rests. Then walk down Rose St that’s blocked for foot traffic only. And grabbing a drink at Hard Rock Cafe near Princess St. The architecture of Edinburgh is spectacular!
Thanks for another great video history story Robert! I wish i could just live in Edinburgh for a year or so and explore. Only been there once and just didnt get enough!
Love this one ❤️ I noticed something, no stop lights, red, green lights at intersections? Noticed the round-abou. Beautiful, either old or new! Thanks for another great video, education and scenery! So wish I could visit Scotland ☹️💛💚
I've only had the pleasure of visiting Edinburgh once. It was my graduation gift from my parents Iin 1970 for a trip to the UK. I'd stayed in London for a week and then flew to Edinburgh and as I got off the plane and looked up and up and up there was a castle on top of the cliff. I was enchanted. I'm sorry I've not had the opportunity to return. 💙🌻💙
I was saying that to someone from America earlier "That looks new but that might be at least a hundred years old" Didn't know about the loch lol I always get an image of soliders in an army being marched hundreds of miles and arriving to see the castle up there when I come in on the train, poor lads lol
What's the name of the pink lil barbecue place, on the curve sloped road down to the market area? It was absolutely delicious, I had it both days I was there n I'm from the BBQ capital eastern North Carolina!!
They were worried that the rich folks might move to somewhere more sanitary...like London. LOL!!!
It's the funniest thing to see you nearly gag when you say "It was also used for drinking water" about Nor Loch.

Thank you Robert. I love the stories and history you give us. 🙂❤️
I’m not sure I’d cut it as an actual teacher. Way too disorganised 😂
