Great tour John. Went to art college there, we had a studio in the Grassmarket. All my hairs used to stand on end, crossing over past the gibbet on the way to the pub/lunch. Just so many layers of history in every stone there.

John very well narrated .. extremely informative .. the amount of history in such a small area of the very picturesque city of Edinburgh is astounding…I’ve visited Edinburgh a couple of times over the years ..
one memory sticks out from the rest was when we was sitting in the beautiful garden under the historic Edinburgh Castle eating and drinking a picnic I remember drinking a nice cold drink exactly at the time of the 1pm cannon blast from the wall of the castle … needless to say I wasn’t expecting it and split all the contents of the plastic flask down my neatly pressed shirt and trousers ..after the initial shock …embarrassment quickly followed especially when everyone gave out a huge laughter …

So Amazing, it's like walking back in History, seeing all the old architecture and the shop fronts, it literally feels like walking in 19th century Edinburgh! For me it feels totally alien, as we have nothing like that here at all.

I think I was one of the first 20K subscribers there, and have been subscribed here since you first announced it on your other channel. I, like almost all others love the historical content. That sets you apart...your remarkable presentation of history. I am also a fan of the mining industry and mining history.
