Just wanted to say thanks been watching your vids for years and a couple months ago started building myself. On my 3rd ak now and absolutely love it so cool taking a bag of parts and turning back into its former glory. Thanks again and keep it up brother.
found your channel on accident. I just retired from the military. I decided to do something else with my life and became a machinist. I started training two weeks before this video uploaded. Definitely want to get my 07 ffl and dive deeper into machining and all things gun/nfa related. love the channel, keep it comin.
Hay brother, as the time we are in. You need to do an AK Build For Dummies as a lot of us need it right now. thanks to your videos over the years I am proud to say I am working on one myself could use the build video. Thanks for all you do.
Brother thank you for the work you do. Started watching you in 18 when I wanted to get into building AKs. You do awesome work and have helped me a hell of a lot! Keep up the great work!!! Thank you again
Just want say that I really enjoy your videos. They have helped me out tremendously. Thinking of using a Tortort Receiver for a Galil build. I may use a 100 percent one though. Keep up the good work.
Mel, please put your material on Rumble for us, this Platform is going to shit. I'd love to see your stuff preserved over there. You'll have more freedom as well. As usual sir, great stuff!!!
Badly wanting a milled UF or SF RPK amalgamation. like a SAM7SF with a bulgy rpk barrel or SAM5UF RPK done similarly.....at the same time I desire my SAM7SF-84r cut to 14.5 p&w.. This ain't helping lol! Masterfully done! as all your work, thanks Mr. Serbu!
Ive had one of these 80 percent receivers for years now. finally getting around to putting it together but can seem to pin down the dimensions. Tortort has some on their website. i have tried contacting them numerous times to confirm those are correct--i dont want to assume and screw it up. do have any idea where to find the drawings?
Does he do re-welds so you can preserve original cartouches ? Receiver looks heat treated, you work slowly as if it is but shavings say not, so what is it ? Will you heat treat ? VERY GOOD VIDEO, THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!
@@Mel64d Thank You, Happy New Year, I was/ am if you can say that, a machinist. You are good, be safe. I still have all my fingers and want us all to be able to say that.
M64 Yugo has a screw in barrel. If you want to switch to a press and pin barrel then an M64 kit might work. I say "might" because I'm not 100% sure if the M64 barrel components will work with a press and pin barrel profile.
@@Mel64d Maybe the M64 barrel has threads on it that can be filed down a bit, and then that same barrel could be pressed into a Tortort receiver like the one in this video?

Damn, unfortunately looks like Tortort aren't making 80 percents anymore by the looks of things.
Good job. Nicely done.
Very nice work.
Hell you have a mill make your own receiver from scratch
Dame u one badass mofo. Thank you for all your vids through out the yrs.
Those tooling marks! Woof!
Very nice. I want to build one of those

Hey mel you ever do a yugo m76?

VERY GOOD VIDEO, THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!
No re welds, all new production. Receiver is heat treated to 40-43Hrc.

@@Mel64d will this work on non milled receivers?
What a shame they cut that beautiful milled AK reciever in pieces
I think they stopped producing the 80% receivers!
❤
I can not find the 80s on the site
Would a Tortort receiver like this one work for a Yugo M64 underfolder build?

@@pepekekistani4472 If you have the tools and the will...you can do just about anything you want. Up to you to decide what direction you want to go.
@@Mel64d Okay, thanks for the encouraging words there. I will eventually need them for something or another.
