Veronika Dawson Actually that’s a really good question, I’ve never wondered why lmao. Maybe because you can’t add that much detail in like pixel letters/ it’s pretty much the same as English with cursive and normal handwriting/ computer text
Different use in origine probably. Many language in Europe started to use cursive when paper came in the continent. Took Latin-Early Italian. Letter "U" was invented during the XV-XVI centuries by scholars to semplify. Before it was used "V" for both type. In Latin was LVPVS (wolf) and became LUPUS. Latins used "V" because straight lines are easier to inscript on stone.

Started learning russian, but am just not willing to learn the handwriting. I had to rewire my brain for the alphabet, not going to rewire the rewired brain to learn the handwriting. I just write printed modern letters just like in the phone. Супер
Yeah I can totally understand that. Maybe down the road you will find time to learn handwriting once you learned the grammar and some words...
Thank you very much you are best teacher
Thank you soo much to hear that!
So, I'm English, learning Japanese, and starting on Russian.
But now i 'm so confused a can't read any of them
Even for russian letter "ж" "zh" is hard. I like my surname, but i need to write this letter dosen of times per day by work.
After long struggle I started to write it like three dashes inclined to the right and one horizontal strike across them. -///- Easy to write, easy to understand.
Toxicodendron orientalis i write it like six-fingered starfish-snowflake "*", but anyway its disturbing the rythm of cursive writening
I realized that ж is like "mirrored к", so if you can write к, I think you shouldn't have any problems...
This letter looks hot when it written down
It sounds like an hungarian “zs”
Why do some of the letters look so different from when it's on a computer and when it's handwritten?
Veronika Dawson Actually that’s a really good question, I’ve never wondered why lmao. Maybe because you can’t add that much detail in like pixel letters/ it’s pretty much the same as English with cursive and normal handwriting/ computer text
Different use in origine probably. Many language in Europe started to use cursive when paper came in the continent. Took Latin-Early Italian. Letter "U" was invented during the XV-XVI centuries by scholars to semplify. Before it was used "V" for both type. In Latin was LVPVS (wolf) and became LUPUS. Latins used "V" because straight lines are easier to inscript on stone.
it's easier to write this way
thanks alot i have Russian exam tomorrow so helps alot
Спасибо ✨
Thank you, great lesson, precisely what I was looking for, to have the right foundation to start learning Russian Language. Muito Obrigado
Adopted from Russia currently in America. Currently trying to learn Russian so that I might return someday :p
Oh, my dear, do not make this mistake: you mix up the name and the sound of a letter. And, if you know, the Russian handwriting should be WITHOUT interruptions, like you wrote Ж, А...
Лексюс I don’t understand lmao, like you mean you should write without stopping?
Mitsuko draw the letter without lifting the tip from the page.
@@shiokkotsu HK. Yes, it’s right to write without interruption. Every letter. You cannot write any one part, and then add something. She must be whole right away. I am Russian.
Then how to write "й" or "ё"?
Thank you for your video, i enjoy practicing with you. I don't have any trouble writing each letter. You make it look so easy. Please continue with your videos.
Thank you for your sweet feedback! What would be a topic you would be interested in ?
ruclips.net/video/mfQ6iNKNIeg/видео.html About the Russian language.
Very good teacher👏👏
Thank you soo much !!
Hardly anyone writes like that in Cyrillic using countries. We all write in whatever way is the most comfortable for each of us.
So cursive form of Cyrillic isn't used much ?
same with latin, we have to write classic handwriting in elementary school, but since high school almost nobody is writing like that :-D
The naming convention also varies. Φ can be either *ef* or *fau.*
"Ж" не так пишется %\
Хотя куда мне спорить об этом, когда уже лет 15 на бумаге пишу "Ж" тремя перечёркнутыми линиями, типа >|
Рисую три палки и перечеркиваю их горизонтальной линией ))
Я пишу: )/\/( XD
У меня наклон большой и ж выгрядит как т
IO
Стал вспоминать как я пишу "Ж" и не мог вспомнить....
In my case, i find it easier writing with the script letters, except for the Д which is kind of like drawing a house.
I can totally understand you. Though in the end, the most important thing is that you have fun learning Russian no matter how you write.
@Matin _T you draw two к and one is mirrored and you got your ж
Thank You! very much.
I am happy that you liked it :)

I have been learning Russian on duolingo, but this is great if you want to learn handwriting. The freakin' T blew my mind tbh, I didn't expect that.
There are a lot of videos like this that show individual letters. I'm looking for how the letters might change a bit when joined together. I've been reading that cursive is still much more common in Russia than in North America. I'm 43 so everytime I write something on paper, it's written, not printed. I'm trying to write "Привет" in script but want the letters joined.
Thanks for the comment! I will do one of the next videos on that topic of how to connect the cursive letters.

This is such an amazing video! I am not studying Russian, but I 've come across this video today and I can't stop watching it! I so much love the sounds it it: the sweet, soft voice of the girl who speaks, the sound of her drawing, the birds singing, a car passing by! This is a therapeutic video really! 😍 I think the girl who made this video should also start making videos of relaxation, her voice is amazing!
ASMR? =)
Good done 👍🏻
Thank you sooo much :)
Interesting how the handwritten forms are sometimes quite different from the printed letters (т -> m?). This would confuse the hell out of me trying to read a handwritten text.
Exactly 😂😂 but sometimes we use printed letters and handwriting together then it’s more complicated
2019 here
love russia and russian language, hope that i could learn it one day
Good luck learning Russian
i would love if she does read some tale story for me before sleep :)
Exactly my thought! She's got such a soft, sweet voice! Makes me relax to sleep
This is the best handwriting video I’ve seen. Thanks also for the IPA at the bottom of each letter so I can pronounce it more correctly. Thanks again!
Thanks a lot :)...I am really happy that the video was helpful to you!
I'm surprised by just how different the hand writing is from the printed letters.
Great work

The one thing i dont get is how do you draw a straight line😂😂
THANK YOU, ignore all those comments about 35º and all that bs. I was taught since the nursery to use cursive (without the inclination) and I want to learn russian but the cursive photos are very low resolution and hard to mimic without watching the stroke order.
Nice video
16:29 about the 'э'. How come I see it is written just like an 'е' instead of 'э'
Hi, am not entirely sure what you mean. Are you talking about the "e" in brackets below the Russian letter? If yes. This is the IPA sound of the letter. This is an international standard to transcribe the sound of foreign alphabets.
Vincent van Deventer, возможно ты видел украинску.
Vincent van Deventer there is the russian “e” making a ye sound and an “э” making an eh sound
I learned the whole Russian alphabet through this video. Thanks a ton. 🙏🏽
That is so cool to hear that the video helped you !
This is NOT Russian, but Bulgarian alphabet! It has never been Russian and it will never be.

Thank you very much for sharing "How to write Russian alphabet", but sorry I couldn't pronounce some of them. It is first time. It's alright. I want to learn much. I am 63 and retired school teacher from Nepal.
Doesn't The Й Make A /y(uh)/ Sound And Is Called Икраткая/Ikratkaya (Ee-krat-ka-ya)
Yeah, that is exactly correct! It is a bit tricky that the letter has such a long name but makes another sound. It is very similar to W which is double-u but it sounds is very different.
Curious Chris Oh OK thx, but, Why That /ikh/ sound you Made? Maybe It's Just Me Sry xD?
I can smell the sharpie
Интересно откуда автор видео, написание некоторых букв как и произношение (например "й") отличается от """"официальных"""
Been sitting here for an hour copying all these down into my little notebook lol. My neck hurts sooo bad
Is writing the cursive letters necessary or would Russians be fine with script writing?
cursive not necessary )
то чувство, когда забыла как учили писать буквы в первом классе 😅
мне кажется, где-то после начальных классов все начинают писать иначе. местами проще и симпатичнее
Я НАШЛА РУССКОГО
