      It's been hard to watch Rocko in these summit videos. It's borderline in humane to put a half asleep in your pocket so you can say you summited a mountain with your dog. This is not fun for a dog. This has bothered me for week. So I can say I've never been more disappointed in FF.

    • @lbeau2586

      I see a loved, happy, active pup who loves the outdoors. When she gets tired or cold, she gets to hitch a ride with her beloved human. Her needs are met and her life is full of adventure. And if it was just about the summit, he would simply have pushed past that ridge. It seems we see things through a different lens. Be well.

    • @moteroargentino7944

      When I saw that long fall down I said "nooo thank you!" 😬
      @Loren The Alchemist I kinda agree with that, in the sense that maybe he should leave Rocko out of the hardest summits. But I wouldn't say it's borderline in humane. It only is if your reference in humane is a pampered house dog. Rural dogs live tougher lives and are almost always happier and healthier than any city dog, as long as their owners take some precautions against extreme conditions, which Foresty seems to be doing. I've seen both cared for and neglected dogs in the country.
      But don't take my word for it, the best indicator is the dog itself and Rocko seems to be just fine for now.

      @@lorenthealchemist3515 so he's half asleep In his jacket. At least he's not cold and he's protected inside the jacket being warm and resting. Her situation could be so much worse. • @sarahleffler9935
      @sarahleffler9935 2 года назад +3

      @Loren The Alchemist Rocko seems to be loving her life including lots of activity and quality time with her dad. Forest is attuned to if she's getting tired or cold, and she's perfectly content to snuggle up in his jacket. No way would a dog rather be left behind alone instead of on a well supervised adventure.

      I used to have three Jack Russell Terriers and took them hiking and biking in the mountains for many years. One time I was with them on a trail, two of them were older now. One was going deaf and the other was losing her vision, the third was young and healthy. I kept a close eye on them, but my deaf boy was behind a ways. I looked back to see a coyote sneaking up on him. Thankfully I was able to chase it away. I met a woman coming down the trail and she told me a friend's dog was attacked by coyotes on that trail. You really have to be careful.

      It is a typical scene anywhere in Canada's Rocky Mountains, from the foothills of western Alberta to the "Rocky Mountain Trench" (its real name) in British Columbia. The "Trench" is a deep valley averaging 750 meters / 2500 feet above sea level, the towns of Valemount, Golden, and Cranbrook are located in it. It is visible from 3:00 to 3:15, recognizable due to its depth, width, and extensive wetlands in the bottom of it. The Columbia River Mountains are in the distance looking west, as extensive as the Rockies in Canada and only slightly less high and jagged, they have a denser forest with bigger trees in the valleys, it is the world's only inland temperate rainforest, and there are some really huge and long valley lakes in that range, most accessible by quiet and secluded paved roads running along the lakeshores. Diadem Peak is located in the Columbia Icefield region in the heart of Canada's Rockies, I always pronounced it die-a-dem, similar to diamond, which is what it looks like under a sunny sky from the nearby Banff-Jasper Highway

      Athabasca River headwaters, Jasper National Park. In the far distance is located Athabasca Pass, which early explorers in the early 1800's, partly motivated by the hideous fur trade, crossed repeatedly for 50 years to the Columbia River headwaters, and then sometimes followed that river 2000 km / 1200 miles to its mouth at Fort Astoria, Oregon Territory, in the future western USA. There is even a small river near Athabasca Pass in Jasper named after that Fort, the Astoria River. Fort Astoria was named for the founder of the Pacific Fur Company, John Jacob Astor, his company was later involved in the building of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City, among other things, but that he and others got rich from the horribly brutal fur trade is reprehensible.

    I adore the beauty of the Canadian Rockies so I'm really happy and grateful that we have you there to show us all this amazing scenery up, close and personal, in beautifully filmed and put together videos! 🍻 But if you ask me I would put this on your accomplished peaks list, those few unattainable meters don't mean much. If we are so strict than we can take away 99% of Manaslu summits cause the very peak point is unreachable for most.

    The feeling in your gut is always right. It's called intuition, the sum of all the experiences and outcomes in your life. It's why you say "I Knew not to do that ", after you do the dumb thing you regret. In that situation you may not get to regret it. This channel is awesome, I want to keep watching so stay safe and trust your gut bro.
