I loved that character from the books. (Didn't finish the TV serial though). The TV lost something here because in the books it is not apparent until much later that Whitebeard was Selmi.
The poor last guy with the spear. He was terrified and knew he was going to die. Instead of turning and running he still went ahead and died with honor. Even the last ronin (likely a very strong swordsman) is resigned to his fate when he draws his sword.
One subtle thing I noticed about this scene while watching it recently is that, when he's taking on the crowd, he actually does all the moves that the ronin from his flashbacks earlier in the film does when taking on the samurai in that earlier scene.
Indeed I like it. In the old Samurai/Zatoichi movies, after cutting down dozen people, the sword and the dress will be spot less. Which took me out of it.
@@marvin.mcfly7749 yeah man I know and understand that and what you mean. To be completely honest with you right now and to be fair. The 2003 movie is the only movie that I have saw and I honestly haven’t seen the other older films from the 60s.
What? He was the strongest of the gang. He's the only one that made Genosuke struggle. The sword fights are just kept realistically brief in this movie. The final showdown later between Genosuke and Zatoichi was only one strike.
The real Ghost of Tsushima.
That Unyielding Spear Parry though...
Yabushige!!!

@1:20 it's Samurai to Samurai here, the moment both of these guys train and wait all their lives to duel for.

Tadanobu would have been the perfect cast for Vagabond Live-action as Musashi
Being young Yabushigi was braver.
Tadanobu asano is a boss
Damn I love Tadanobu Asano!
Correct: samurai vs yakuza fight.

That is why he was called for Asgard
art.
That's a holy shit moment 😆
what's that white square thing they have poking out of their clothes?
It can be either a piece of rice paper or a tenugui (like a hankerchief). Commonly used to wipe blood from the blade.
I believe it's a death poem.@@Keti_Mporta
That final move is 1:1 the same as Sekiro’s finisher on Ishin.
But what happens to that last guy?!
watch the whole movie i suggest...
annihilated.
He was just an old crimelord. Died without even draw his sword. But as they told you, do watch the whole movie, it's awesome

full clip
He's killed...... Honorably......
You had to show how the old man received his fate to complete this video. Not worth sharing without it?
The power of being the protagonist.
That's not the protagonist.
*antagonist
피 튀는 게 너무 인위적이었어. 개봉할 때 봤었는데 당시도 그랬고 지금도 그렇네.
To everyone who says the blood is fake. It is. It’s all computer generated

I thought the last guy would be tough but he was the weakest.

All fake movie
