My personal favorite is gen 3 because I really like the effect on the part where the thundery thing hits the enemy!! The reversed colour effect really conveys the feeling of high voltage. Unfortunately, it seemed very washed later on! But I also like how the beams are shot individually in the later animations (just the impact of the respective elements are very weak looking, unfortunately!)
I agree! gen 3 had the best animations for its time (even the stat changes all appeared different depending on wat stat was changing), and gen 4 & 5 are really underwhelming cus it feels like the pokemons are looking more 3D but the moves animation got really lazy. and gen 6 onwards it kind of just turned many things into beams for simplicity.
@@nichidoushiro Gen 3 had many small touches that people may not even realize, like how there are different animations for Return and Frustration depending on your Pokémon's friendship value, and when you flee from battle with a Smoke Ball, it'll actually cover the Pokémon's sprite with three clouds smoke before fleeing the battle.
I just found out Spearow and Fearow get it lol. Also I love the detail that in Gen 1, Tri Attack is a Triangle cuz *Tri* Attack and *Tri*angle, also cuz Triangles have 3 sides lol.
Gen 3 was the best. The sounds are memorable and the actual triangle attacked launched is so cool.

I like the Gen 3 version the best with the best 3D one being Gen 7

Gen 7 was great, after that, moves got the downy treatment.
Nowadays, moves lack impact, shock and just power in general.
Tri attack dugtrio?!!!? lol I’ve really associated the move with Dodrio, Magneton and porygon
It seems like a lot of movements started to look like Dragon Pulse? Tri-attack, Power gem, Psybeam…
sad but true
I liked more the version from Pokémon Battle Revolution
