    While they probably don’t qualify as a “Poor Man’s Patek”, some of the older Universal Geneve watches have that great vintage “vibe” that the Patek Philippe watches radiate. You have an excellent channel ! Thanks for posting .

    Do you have any videos on how to refurbish Omega vintage dials?
    Also I notice your website doesnt sell Omega straps or any straps. Who would be a recommended strap supplier for a vintage gold Seiko DX 25 jewel automatic and a Gold vintage Omega seamaster automatic?

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel
      @TimelessHistoryChannel  5 месяцев назад +1

      Unfortunately, I do not. Cleaning a dial is a risky job and I would not recommend anyone to do it if they have never worked on a watch before. Just blow it with a dust blower and maybe gently clean it with a rodico will be enough.
      Try www.ofrei.com if you want to buy original straps.

    I have a smaller TIMEX Mercury from 1957 with a similar chrome case and Arabic numerals that would suit you better, as that watch was far too big for you.

    I don’t know how many gold-colored vintage watches I own that look pretty Calatrava like; at least a dozen. I also own a genuine Patek Philipe that i paid far less than six figure- its a tank from the 40s- $7k and there are cheaper, and that was serviced with a 1-year warranty from a dealer I thoroughly trust to sell basically genuine watches with all discrepancies (re-dial, replacement crown, different hands, etc) disclosed. I also bought for $1750 a genuine, Calatrava-like genuine 18k Vacheron & Constantin 6115 Patrimony whose only discrepancy is a crystal suited to something as chunky as an Omega 550, maybe 5mm Thick, which is utterly ridiculous on the ~3mm thick case and it could use some work on its keyless works, but it runs and keeps decent time.

      Jacob, I dont know you but after reading this: get stuffed. Where is my $1750 vacheron

    • @jacobgreenmanedlion1863
      @jacobgreenmanedlion1863 Год назад +1

      @@DutchClawz go looking. A few years ago that was a decent price but not an unheard of one. At that price you are talking as-is and slightly iffy seller. 6115 and others equipped with that movement are practically impossible to fake- they are too thin. It’s small by todays standards but you wouldn’t be on this channel if that was a big concern.
      By the way you are talking about a paper-thin watch with no water resistance and my 1956 example has no shock proofing. It’s definitely not for regular wearing (nor is the Patek). But I fairly recently bought a Rolex 6085 18k for daily wear for $4750 and an 18k Ebel 1911 Sport Chrono for the same purpose for $3999- from the same trusted dealer I mentioned above. CreAtivity and obscurity are your friend.

      @@TimelessHistoryChannel Cool 😎
      Basically, what I’m after is a 1960s Constellation with a black dial and a screw down crown. I would prefer a gold case, but steel is great too (maybe gold plated?).
      Does such a watch exist? And if not, is there a good approximation of such a watch? I’m open to different makers and even different eras.
      Thank you!

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel
      @TimelessHistoryChannel  Год назад +1

      Black dial Constellation is rare to come across. There are plenty of redial, so be aware of that. So the black dial part of your question is yes, they exist, but there is no Constellation from the 1960s with a screw in crown.

      @@TimelessHistoryChannel A Rolex sold for over $5 million, doesn't set any sort of precedent of overall value of the brand. All used watch prices depend on where you source them from

      I understand where you’re coming from. But I am referring to a dealer market value and not a price that came out of a Christy or Phillip auction either.
