Nice review. I really hope Ys III OiF and Ys VI AoN get modern console ports too. I think they use the same engine as Ys Origin, so it should definitely be possible! Please, Falcom!
Ys VIII seemed to have sold well on the Switch and now that this is out hopefully they will get those others on here. Ys VII is stuck oc PC and PSP and that game needs another chance for new players.
this reading was pretty awkward, there were a ton of unnatural pauses that distracted me from what was being said to the point that I had to stop listening
Where the time line gets weird is after Ys 8. Technically Ys 6 and Ys 7 take place after 8. The newest title Monstrom Nox Ys 9 takes place after 7 so it's currently the latest in the timeline. Yes you can play them in any order, but just a few characters sometimes make reappearances.
Did you also play the PS4 version ? Did the constant crash on the " Retry " option is still present ? It sadly make it almost impossible to platinum because you need to do a full " Boss Rush Mode at Nightmare difficulty " and the game will always crash and reset your progress... Dotemu are some lazy port markers :(
Hey, review writer here. During my time with this version, the crashing issue never happened at all. Experienced that quite a bit when playing the PS4 version and going for the plat. Retrying constantly on Nightmare thankfully never crashed the game for me on the Switch version.

The bosses look cool. Nice review. I'm considering buying this right now. Is it worth $7.99?
I'm looking forward to playing this but man are the UI elements in the HUD bad in this series. Lol. Why are the bars so thick in this game?
thanks for the review, u help me to choose one game today :)
The Ys games can be played in any order?

@@NoisyPixelNews am I getting played because it kind of sounds like azario but only a little
It is not azario. The about section says the name of the author as well as the written review
oh, i know that sometimes people read the reviews who were written by others, so i thought this was one of those cases
