Amazing!

I follow several teachers on RUclips and I can claim you're the one who give the clearest explaination about this topic.
But there is another example that is good too : the action that has current consequence : "I have lost my home key" has a consequence : I can't go into my house. Of course, if I say "Yesterday, I lost my key" I can still have to sleep at a friend's place - this is the consequence- but yesterday has passed.
Bref c'est parfois un peu compliqué,surtout que les Américains semblent utiliser le past simple même avec "just"!
In any case, when you say "ever" = in one's life I understand better than ever why présent perfect has to be used.

Thank you for your explanations and the many examples of how to use these tenses. I am French and taught English before I retired; actually, I gave the same explanations to my students BUT I once went on a teacher training course in England and the leader of the group- an English teacher- gave us a few minutes to find the answer to some problem. In the end, she asked us " well, what DID YOU FIND?" .....all the French teachers in the group were very surprised as we would have asked " what HAVE YOU FOUND?", what would you say in that case?
    Thank you very much!

Thank you for your videos, that helps me out a lot. I have a question about the sentence “have you heard the news…” You use it for an example in your book, about to listen/to hear. I understand that I say “listen to the radio”, because I do this active but why do I ask “have you heard the news…” because I concentrate myself on the news more than on the radio generally. I’m sorry for my English.

Thank Greg for your very clarifying videos. Let's suppose the following ongoing situation. I took a flight from Boston to Miami with a stop in New York. The passenger next to me asked me where I boarded the plane. And my answer was "I boarded the plane in Boston" (simple past because the action is finished, I will not go back to Boston again, correct?) Or should I have answered "I have boarded the plane in Boston", since the flight has not landed in Miami yet? May I have your comments, please?
