    We’re glad you’re including your family in your vlog. I assure you that it will also help you to in your journey to improve your mental health. We saw your accident and it felt like a reminder that time is fleeting and seeing now that you belong to a family that cares for you instead of seeing you with your individual journey is very refreshing. It gives us a real feel good feeling! We hope you’ll feel the same! We’re rooting for you👍🙏💪

    The baboy is beautiful and the cat stays near the fire to warm herself.
    Careful with people taking advantage of your kindness. You might be spending way too much for them than you should. Shrubs and grass easily grow specially during rainy season and you will be clearing the area every now and then. Nice banana leaf umbrella.
    Lily is so cute.
    Wishing you succeed in your new undertaking.

      He’s buying them lunch and snacks. It’s not everyday. That’s commendable for a good land owner. It’s also customary in the province for land owners to cook lunch fir their farmers during harvest time and it’s like a celebration of a good harvest thanking also the farm workers. So, it’s okay for Kumander to buy them food and it’s not that much though…

    nice farm and and nice farm house very simple and real , i appreciate foreigners that are grateful for what they have here in the Philippines and not always complaining on just anything. good to hear that your shoulders haven't got severe injury and are getting better now, take good care of your self always, your wife and lily still needs you, so don't push your self too much just for the vlog its not worth the risk if you can't do another vlog or can't be with your family because of an accident.

    This brought back memories of hillside farming which I set my hand to in my past. It took a creative approach to take advantage of the various land features and the use of anchoring vegetation to minimize soil erosion. Figuring out access tracks to wheel the crops often seemed like the greatest challenge until I learned to trust the wisdom of the farmers who harvested the nearby land for many generations. God bless all farmers.

  • @michaelseabeck7685
    @michaelseabeck7685 Год назад +1

    Hi Anselmo I was really happy when you said you would not spray poison onto the land to kill the underbrush and weeds. So many people there rely on wells for their drinking water. Also what about the food you will grow if pesticides are used. Spraying pesticides is a quick fix that has long ranging detriments. Yes burning the land will also do the trick but be careful for erosion and loss of soil nutrients. A good ground cover to plant is alphalfa. This will help protect the newly uncovered soil and give back nitrogen to the ground. My friend did this on Tablas and it has worked superbly. Way to go Anselmo. I really like your vlogs and hope to meet you someday.......

    My wife has a fruit farm in N. Mindanao also. We grow mostly mangosteen trees. Mangosteen trees grow "true to type", very wind resistant and profitable. We also grow durian and avocado trees. These trees lack the wind resistant however.

    I know it rains a lot in the Philippines, but are you into permaculture at all? If possible, you can build a small pond in the area to create an ecological system that works with nature. For example, the pond could have frogs to eat up the bugs in the area, and attract birds to prey on the frogs and the bugs. The pond could also serve as a water storage for really long periods of dryness (water which you might not need, but it's there if you do need it). Another purpose of the small pond could just be a little scenic area where you can rest nearby or fish quietly with the boys if you add fish into it. Disadvantages are, of course, added cost, a small area dedicated to water instead of more plants, and maybe attracting wild pigs or stray dogs that could ruin the farm.

    • @KumanderDaot
      @KumanderDaot  Год назад +2

      I like the principles of permaculture 🙂

    • @joodeki
      @joodeki Год назад

      @@KumanderDaot Yeah, it's really neat when applied properly in an area. It's all about catching rain water that flows down and away from an area that needs it. The water gets gathered into a man-made pond, where it can last for months or years, which helps regenerate the soil in the area, making plants and trees greener and increase their fire resistance (probably negligible in the Philippines). It's a very long term project that requires a lot of planning though, but I figured I'd let you know about it, something to consider in the future.
