My dad used to take us up in the Sierra when I was young there was one at the local airport he would rent sometimes. I always thought it would be cool to have one of these in fs2020 ! Now we got one! I will definitely be picking this one up
In all autopilots I know of, the yaw damper works regardless of the autopilot being engaged! On the GFC700, when the light is on above "YD", itll be active and helping keep you coordinated. Thanks for the video, this looks like a solid addon. Always been a fan of the Sierra, a bit of an odd plane but makes for affordable complex trainer that is pretty good looking!
Overkill, FYI. Once you're at the altitude you want, click on autopilot and let it trim the plane itself and then switch autopilot back off. That helps a lot. Also, I never go full flaps until I'm on short final
I’m always impressed by the smoothness of your head tracking software beam… I use it too but it’s always too jumpy and nervous for me and I switch back to TrackIR. And yes, I followed your vids on this topic with beam😊
I have the last Corinthian on earth grazing in the backyard. I bought this and the TBM 850 last night. I’m also really excited about that Airbus helicopter in 2024.
A friendly heads up on the run up. Check to see if you can vary the pitch on the prop. Notice on the check list it says propeller, cycle. What that means is you will slowly bring the prop control back towards you, this will bring the prop to the high pitch (large or course pitch) position. Do not bring the prop control all the way back. You will have a drop in manifold pressure and the engine will sound like crap. Immediately move the prop control to the full forward position and repeat two more times. You are cycling the prop from a fine pitch to course pitch, it's part of the run-up procedure. You're checking to make sure you can control the pitch (angle) of the propeller.
Honestly, I skipped right over it. Good point out and had I paid attention I would have but thank you very much:) that was unfortunately pilot negligence lol
Rarely did I ever do prop cycle more than once, only if it didn't look/work right which was pretty rare. I know they teach you to do it more than once but if there's a problem you'll know it the first cycle 👍
@@BHPilot82 I was taught to check the prop cycle three times and when I was instructing was asked to have my students check the prop cycle three times. Given the time involved to check the prop on 3 cycles seemed to be time ( 30 - 40 seconds) well spent.
@@OverkillSimulations No big deal, that's what a flight sim is used for, to identify areas we may be week on or lax about. When you start actual flight training you will see your sim time will be a little more realistic in your procedures.
The best and easiest plane for me to taxi is the baron 58p overhaul from Black square. I love that plane! I also like the Bonanza mod that you did a review on 2 years ago, but you know they never did anything with the hanger that comes with that plane. That's a bit of a bummer
Thanks for all the videos you have done! I watched a lot of your videos on virpil controls and such and love them! I play DCS World and I am wanting to get MSFS 2024. I was wondering if you could tell me which platform you use for MSFS Steam or Microsoft store and your experience with either. Thank you and I cant wait to get in the air again in a civilian sim.
I like aircraft that have my age. Not to buy in real life, but in the sim is a welcomed aircraft. GA aircrafts of the 50, 60 or 70 are simply wonderful. I will not use it with the G3X of course. Nice aircrafts in the last few months. The ASK21 (a must for me, I have learned to fly on one of them) and now this one, plus the Tomahawk, the free XCub with Acme Aero undercarriage and Alaskan bushwheels, soon even the highwing LSA TL3000 Sirius ... the must buy list is long and the lack of time yo try them all is also huge. Next time better a take off from a GA airport. You don't spend two hours for taxing and landing is more challenging.
Tried flying it this morning. For some reason, it kept wanting to head for terra firma and I had to keep my flight pulled back to maintian straight & level. Trimming did not seem to make any difference (I had electric trim on, too). Is this wnat you encountered? If so, Flysimware may need to do some tweaking. Sadly, I bought from the MSFS store so who knows how long an update may come via them. Anyhow, thanks for the demo.
There will be an update this coming week. but sounds like you have some kind of conflict with the Trim if it is not working .. The Trim wheel and trim indicator are between the seats behind the Fuel selector.
@@LesOReilly I did find the trim indicator and it does move back and forth as I adjust the trim. However, it seemed that no matter how much I trimmed up, the plane would keep descending. I also checked the CG and all was fine there. I need to check my control sensitivities next. Thanks Les.
Does anybody else have a small bird trapped somewhere in the cabin? I have a constant 'chirp, chirp chirp' from the moment I start taxiing - I have no idea what it's supposed to represent (unless it really is a trapped bird), and this is unflyable for me until it's removed.
@@OverkillSimulations I'll give it a look. I've already got a pretty solid wireless TrackIR setup, but still enjoy seeing other setups/solutions. Thanks.
here is no throttle in the below the red zone. Female announcer: No, the white zone is for loading of passengers and there is no stopping in a RED zone. Male ... lol
Good video as usual but think I will skp the plane first of all the sound , I have heard a few Beechcraft in my time and this isnt it , however nice try from the developer and we do have A2A Comanche
Boris did the sounds .. and it sounds very very close to me.. many of the sounds in the cockpit like the Fuel pump and others are all based on audio recording provided.. It is a beech.

Didn't I see a check list in the passenger door pocket
Hey just to let you know if you kill the throttle later it’ll make your landing smoother. Kill it about 5-10ft off the ground hope this helps!!

Cool video, instant buy for me :) Can i ask, do you use both head and eye tracking apps from your description together in this video?
Usually he uses beam with open track and head tracking only mode (not eye), if I remember correctly.

Salut chez moi il ne marche pas,écrans noir....
What do you use for head tracking becaues I'm not seeing a TrackIR system on your head anywhere. Face track?
BeamEye tracker - link in the description :)

He left the little window open the whole time so it’s hard to tell what the sounds are like.
What Beech models? A lot of Bonanzas and Barons had/have 6-cylinder Continentals, the Sierra had 4-cylinder Lycoming
