I like this album a lot but I feel like in this record her voice is a lot less in the front, it's edited to be quite robotic and well "basic". The album sounds damn good but her vocals are smoothed so all the Kylie magic missing from that department. In Padam Padam live U hear the difference. Still an amazing record just not one that showcases her lovely voice. It's definitely her strongest since Aphrodite and I want to hear it in clubs

The "AI/media Kylie" demonstrates this in the Tension video by minimizing the "Showgirl Kylie". It's what sells and we know that Kylie can defend her natural register live and surpass those in the recording studio.

This was not what I expected. After Padam and Tension I expected a more electro club sound throughout! While at the very beginning I was slightly let down, by the end, and especially after a couple listens, I was so happy I was wrong! This is such a Kylie album in the best way possible! It’s so fun and quirky, and there’s such a diverse array of influences that Her Serene Highness somehow manages to caress into a beautifully cohesive album. Kylie really understands her fan base because there’s standouts here for every different genre of #Lover! It’s also extra special that she’s still so good 35 years in the business, and at her 16th studio album. Really hoping this goes #1 in the UK, and at least #2 in Australia but even if it doesn’t this is such a triumph!😇

Nobody does straight up dance pop better than Kylie. Not 20 years ago, not now... The album is an absolute smash. It's fun, it's sad, it's cohesive and yet it still tells a story despite what she said about just wanting to create a fun celebratory dance album tinged by 80's nostalgia... Well it is, but that's like saying the Mona Lisa is a boardwalk sketch... And after the last 3 years it feels very cathartic to listen to... 5/5! Best pop album of the year so far... Also hope she follows this up with another album next year... I love when artists do a back to back drop... Rihanna used to all the time as did Kylie in the early years...
Something about 'Vegas High' reminded me of "Timebomb". (I always hoped she would release a full album with Timebomb's sound.) I am a huge fan of Tension!! Best pop album of 2023. 🎉🎉🎉

Golden helped me through a really tough / beautiful period in my life, and I will forever be grateful to Kylie for being a part of my story. Tension is another stunning addition to her discography. My favourite recording on the album is You Still Get Me High ❤ I am so glad you loved the album.
My favourite songs (aside from the singles) are Story, Hands and Just Imagine. I love the album as a whole, one more time is the track im not feeling. Tension is new and its always easy to rank a new album in the wrong place on a few listens, but when the dust settles, i feel certain it will be up there with her best. So many of her songs sound like little oddities on the first listen, but they serve to be her best. Story is just an epic landslide of slamming power pop that i would love to be a single. Awesome reaction as always. Love logging on to youtube and seeing a new one from you. You really do live the moment for the duration of what you are reacting to. So thank you 💙

Green Light is like Spinning Arounds cousin. Vegas High is good but I’m not enjoying as much as other people are. 10/10 I’ve never really liked it that much it’s ok. Story I love, apart from the really high bit, but a great way to end the album. Love Train is in the same vein as Fine Wine a fun throwaway track. Just Imagine is amazing but way too short. Sounds like Lost Without You’s sister was shocked when it wasn’t the same writing team. Somebody to Love is glorious!

I am absolutely grooving on this whole release, but I think Hands is the most surprising, awesome song that's stuck in my head currently, other than Tension...
This kind of feels like Kylie's version of Madonna's Ray Of Light or Cher's Believe. I'm living for it!!
Hands is R&B/hip hop-ish, Green Light is disco, Things We Do for Love & You Still Get Me High is 80s synth-pop, Tension is 90s house, Hold onto Now, Story, Just Imagine are anthemic songs, Vegas High and Padam Padam are post-2020s house, Somebody to Love is a mid-tempo 80s-style love song, Love Train is a circus-style feel-good song, Out of 10 is a "exercise in the gym hype song" and One More Time is a fusion of late 80s R&B, disco and dance pop, with a post-2010s feel! All round it's a powerhouse dance album!

I'm so happy you like it! It's so 80s and 90s. I love it. I thought you were going to hate Hands and Love Train haha - got 50% right haha. My faves are Things We Do For Love and You Still Get Me High because they make me feel like I'm dancing in an 80s movie. I also like Just Imagine and Somebody To Love for the same reason as you - they're just super cute :D
