Came from shads video! :)
Thank you.
Same and subscribed. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
Me too
Me too, hi
Ditto
Came straight after watching the Shadiversity video.
What a nice piece of work!
Sending some love and looking forward to see more!
Thank you. I have a full German harness and some orc armour planned.
Can't wait to see more from you!
Thank you. I am planning a guide to making a full German harness and some fantasy builds.
Nice video mate! I'm also here to say my thanks for your awsome contribution of a testing armour for Shadiversity (I'm just a regular viewer of their channel by the way). Keep up with the good work!
Thank you. I was happy to give something back after years of Shad putting out great videos.
This could easily be made it to a 5 part series. In doing so, you'd drastically increase the volume of content, increase viewer engagement, and improve viewer retention.
Yes.
Came here from Shadiversity videos on black arrow from The Hobbit movie.
You did amazing work and your armor actually deflected/blocked the arrow!
I'm curious how long did it take you to make this breastplate?
Hard to say as I did it with what little free time I had but if I had no distractions and unlimited caffeine. I might be able to knock it out in a weekend or 2.
Hello! I also came from Shad's video. Great work on the breastplate!!
Here from the good lad Shad, this was a pretty fascinating to watch as someone who is actually a beginner and planning on getting into blacksmithing! I've always loved Gothic armor, but I'm a pretty heavy set guy overall and most Gothic armor is made with the intent of slimming up the wearer, so I've started researching to make Gothic armor for wider folk like me!
Also pretty good sprinkling of humor, on account of "Anyone can make this, as long as you're not a crayon-munching moron". Gonna be a while before I get the money necessary for a proper setup (Forge, tools, etc), but once I get that up and running, I'll for sure make a video on forging one of these babies.
Thank you. I should have better guides and templates out by then. As long as your waist is smaller than your chest and hips you should do ok. the waist needs to be narrower so that it stays in place and the weight goes onto your hips. then with enough curve on the breastplate and flare on the fauld will make your waist look smaller in proportion. then with some flutes narrowing to the waist we can increase the impression of a narrower waist. Throw on some big pauldrons to exaggerate the width of the shoulders and you will start to look like the shape of a body builder.
Nice work brother. That anvil brings back memories.
Thanks mate.
Came here from your comment on Shad's video. Keep up the good work, much love.
Thank you but does the inquisition know you have a youtube account? I'm not going to get mind wiped am I?
AAaand here because of the Shadiversity video lol. I eagerly await more neat looking armor how-to videos~
Well, I probably wouldn’t be able to make armor, this video was incredibly fascinating! Keep up the good work! I look forward to your future projects.
Thank you. I am glad that it was still interesting just getting technical with armour design.

Thank you.
Shad fan here.
Came to say hi 👋
Thank you.
I loved the video! This is pretty much exactly the kind of video ive been looking for for years. I plan to make this and although i don't have Facebook, if i make it ill find some way to share it.
Here from Shadiversity. Would love to see some of your other work shown here.
I made a facebook group to post free templates to. facebook.com/groups/6854023081325323
I do believe that the gab between your chest and the upper section of the breastplate shouldn't be that substantial. That being said, the gap should increase to where you have it around the mid/lower section of the breastplate.
edit: i didn't realize that you touched on this at 25:25
yer your right it should be a bit shallower towards the top.
Ho do I exactly do the measurements of my body? How do this translate to the size of the pieces? It would be nice to see a video explaining this
Pretty awesome. Do you sell these?
The cardboard templates sounds interesting, but I don’t exactly know where to start. Could you make a video on how you would go about making, shaping, and attaching these cardboard armor-templates or is there a link or something that I can take a look to learn more about?
I made a facebook group to post the templates to as a pdf. The link should be in the discription. I have already started a better version that has a back plate. Makeing a video on using templates and adjusting them sounds like a good idea. I might have some unused video I can edit together. If not I will film it after new years. Basically you want to trace the pattern onto box cardboard and dish the cardboard lightly with a dishing stump. Then put it together using paper fasteners where the rivets should be. You want to be able to hold a sword without the cardboard touching your arms and the bottom of the breastplate template ends 1 inch below where you flare it out to attach the faulds. If you need any help just ask and I can try to walk you though it but I will get some more videos explaining it after new years. facebook.com/groups/6854023081325323

Sorry I thought I replied earlier but the comment looks deleted. I made a facebook group to post free templates to. Don't forget to try it in cardboard first. facebook.com/groups/6854023081325323
