    $20 says there's a fuel pump sock floating around in the bottom of the tank or in the bottom of the box the last fuel pump came in.

      What is this so called "sea foam" for the tank? Amd yes he should probaly replace it with a plastic tank because they don't rust

    Mount the O2 sensors in a tin can. The air in there is super clean. I believe that'll work versus having them disconnected. Hopefully you have the pre-cat oxygen sensors installed for fuel mixture.

  • @psavel274
    @psavel274 2 года назад

    Don't know if it was mentioned but the reason the old pump died is no sock on the bottom and it sucked up sediment, rust and dirt from the bottom of the tank. Swirl pot area should ALWAYS have the sock in place. That wiring is definitely something that could cause headaches too. Use some non insulated butt splices and heat shrink over the top of the joints. You'll never have to worry about the wiring again. Stay humble bro, I love your channel. 👍👍

    The only reason I can see for two OEM pumps to fail is if you run the truck on low fuel in the tank, remember that the fuel keeps the pump cool. Try not less than a quarter tank.

    • @davidbuck9977
      @davidbuck9977 2 года назад

      The pump sits inside of the cup that fills with the returned fuel, running below 1/4 tank wont hurt it but running completely out of fuel will. The problem was all the contaminates in the tank and the old pump was a delphi pump(rebranded by GM) which has the sock inside the bowl and this design is not meant to have contaminants inside the bowl. The GM/Delphi pump is a far superior design over the traditional sock on the outside, but a deign will only go so far in a tank filled with trash, it's only a matter of time before the new sock plugs up and burns out the new pump.

    Hey Mike buddy how's it going. This was a great video you put together. I want to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas. I hope you enjoy this special holiday. Thank you so much about the information on the Crocs man. I was able to find a pair in a XXXL sz15 with my foot barely fit in it. It was crushing & hurting my toes. I had to cut a section out in the toe box of each crocs so two of my toes can hang out because my toes are 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe. It's a big wide foot man. My foot outgrew shoes & socks 30 years ago & flip flops is the only footwear that will fit on my foot. But since I broke both of my feet beginning of last year from a truck 🚛 accident I was involved in wearing flip-flops in 30 degree temperatures in the winter time is getting brutal. These Crocs should really help keep my toes warm since I cannot get socks to fit on my foot. It is always awesome to see you wearing your Crocs in your videos buddy. It is awesome to see that you are a Croc fan & thank you so much for wearing them in your video. Again Merry Christmas to you and your family. PS. Did you get a new pair of Crocs for Christmas?

    The only other problem that the fuel system can have on the 350 vortec motors is that the injection spider in the intake can get wore out and gm came out with a new design I had a hard start issues on my 99 Tahoe with the same motor and that was what worked for me

  • @JohnLewisRV
    @JohnLewisRV 2 года назад +1

    I enjoy your videos. Have you considered replacing the fuel lines to and from pump? Twenty years puts the fuel line near or at end of life. On my truck I was having trouble starting and it ended up being the old fuel lines sucking air, even though they were not leaking, causing engine to loose prime.

    But the last one I forgot to put the strainer filter on the bottom of the pump and I haven’t had any trouble since

    I’m thinking maybe to much restriction

    the reason i always found that the pumps keep going is that the fuel pressure regulator under the upper intake on the engine is no good and leaking or the entire injector assemble is no good.

    the very first video i saw of yours was of this truck. sure have missed seeing your videos. hope you and yours are doing well. baffles are not needed because the fuel pump assembly has one built in. driver side window letting all the crud come in and accumulate on the head liner? or was it a leak from the light mounted on the roof letting it mold? she sure looked happy to get that metal for a barn. nice score. did you get rid of the duramax?
