mike, for future reference you can trace those wires by the circuit number printed on the insulation of the wire. the smallest details can make all the difference in a repair. that emblem turned out very nice. maybe we will see you and the freightliner on the road soon.

O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 I had wondered what was going on with Jolly Green. Cabovers Rule! When any vehicle sits around very long expect to do some kind of repairs to the electrical/mechanical stuff. On the wiring connections of the starter/battery maybe use some grease or Vaseline, after you clean the terminals of course. I like a clean engine, too. Way easier to spot leaks. Looks like you may need to go through all the wiring on this rig to make sure that everything still makes good connection. Good job on the ground issue. The nameplate turned out great! Now that is some good work for a day or so. Looking to see more on the truck & check out what all I have missed. Every good truck needs a good trailer to complete it & show off it’s skill & beauty. Blessings my friend. 🤩🥰✌️

Always do a tug test when hooking up to a trailer as well as a visual check on the jaws When you can afford it i would be getting a few loads of gravel brought in so you can park the cab over on a gravel driveway vs in the grass . The moisture in the grass will cause rust and corrosion issues

I forgot to say that the red handled valve is for the trailer only and to just leave it alone when driving without the trailer behind you. That also controls wiring to the stop lights on the trailer as they are not supposed to be wired through the trucks wiring. If you noticed, just moving the truck alone and pushing in the red valve is causing a air leak as it should.

It looks like you are stepping the clutch all the way to the floor when rolling. Don’t do that it will wreck the clutch brake, only step pedal to the floor when sitting still and getting it in gear the initial time. Or we can watch you change the clutch brakes in a future video.

Bless the angel of wisdom if she said "Buy stock in Microsoft!" Okay kid... I have been with you since you started with Jolly Green. I do have some pearls of wisdom I hope. First and most foremost, I support our american products just as much as the next guy but dang it to heck and gone, those Chinese starters are dang cheap....ya cheap in price,.... BUT THEY WORK GOOD! So install a twelve volt system and follow the path of getting rid of any twenty four volt systems. I am sure that it will bite you in the butt down the road where its a twenty four volt motor on a ..... lets just say a wiper motor. I don't remember just how you do it but it requires you to do any grounds to the wiring and not to the body of anything it touches if you decide to operate that motor in twenty four volts off of the batteries... it can be done to do a twenty four volt through only the wiring as if it touches any of the body, frame or metal coming in contact, it will be flame on. Its best to go all twelve volts on everything. Those china starters worel over the starter like grant took richmond! No more bog and burn, just turns over the engine on a real cold day like you were in a hot desert with it on twenty four volts. You never ever look back and say dang if I just hadn't done this.. Okay.... on the transmission ... you found out that to spilt the gear ranges from low to direct is taking it out of any gear.. not just floating the clutch. You have a thirteen speed and in any book it will say to never use the low gear in anything but just that.... low gear and once you go from low to fourth gear, you find fifth to me or anyone by going up to what,.. was going to first after low gear. I really hope you work with me as I am having a time explaining it..... if we number those gears then low would be one, and the first gear up next would be number two and etc. Now using the number system, number five gear is fourth on the chart on the shift pattern. Its said to never ever use first or number one for anything but pulling out of a hole that requires that low a gear to get moving. If ya could do it then the transmission would of been a fifteen speed. I wish to say that I seldom ever used low hole in the transmission... I would start in second which is number three if ya count number style. I would go number three and then four, and at that point if its rolling easy enough ... let those rpms drop down fairly low and come from number four shift to direct as you shift, and go right for number one or low hole but in direct.... its called the "Mystery" hole as its not supposed to be used but I did and never lost a transmission ever in several million miles of driving... I would not use it for pulling hard or for down shifting if in a pull. If you just want a hole that has the right speed for travel and your just moving about with a light load.... you get the feel of it over time. Use that gear all you want but remember the shaft that the gear rides on is one of the smallest in the box and can pull the side right out of the box. Yep, break it like yer heart was when the old lady took a shit on life.
A good thing to remember is in wiring, any real good repair manual will say in the first three words of it... grounds grounds grounds.... you just can't have too many grounds.... and then clean surfaces till they shine and use something to prevent corrosion. I love using lock washers where ever I do a ground cause that lock ring will dig into the metal when tightened. Now when using the diff locks.... never on the fly or when moving.... stop and put it into the lock position. Its also been known that when coming out of the locked position, if moving, it will hang for a bit and then just when you hear it come out ... then is when you hear a sound that chills the heart. parts a breaking.... so diff lock is for getting out of a jam and you can drive on slippery ground or surfaces but long travel will cause a lot of heat unless its snowing or icy outside. Everyone has fell in love with the eighteen speed but my favorite is still the thirteen speed.

You know the electrical system on an FLA is pretty simple. There should be a schematic of the entire system on the cover for the electrical panel. It will identify all the correct circuit numbers which are printed on the wires. Most of the Freightliner wiring will be white with printed numbers although some circuits in the cab are yellow (still have printed numbers).
That big thing with all the wires is the shunt for the ammeter. Everything except the starter current goes through it.
You also have to go through neutral to get the splitter to shift.

So on your transmission you shift through the first 4 gears and then use the splitter to shift through the top 4 gears
