Everybody knew to expect it. And yes, I'm a huge Beatles fan, but you know what - back in the day Dick most certainly would have asked John, Paul, George and Ringo to hand out gum, too. It was all part of the fun of the Saturday night Beechwood Hour!! Sheesh.....
When I was about 6 or 7 years old, my family would always watch Dick Clark Show around 57 or 58. I know that the dentists just Loved watching all those teenagers chewing gum. I know it enhanced their dental practice.
