I don't know horses or mule, but, I think she is very smart. One reason she is, is her curiosity of new things. I believe she's building a mental library for the future. I also believe she has 100% confidence and trust in you to keep her safe. She behaved beautifully around traffic, bridges, new dogs even cracks. You got a good one. Leave her mane.

    KEEP her Mane.....
It'll get thicker and longer come fall and winter. I us the M-T-G on my mule's mane and tails. Wipe a little on with the tile sponge when you use it to help keep the fly's at bay. 25 years having mules and they've always had their manes.

I watched a video of a guy endurance testing a mule and a huge combine approached them and it did not bother the animal one bit. Further down the road, an Amish buggy passed and the mule skirted away as far as possible. Then they came upon water flowing across the dirt road and the mule moved over to the thinnest streak of water and jumped like it was the Grand Canyon! Some things bother them... some things don't! Your ride makes me want to watch Lonely Are The Brave. Years ago I was going to call my dog Whiskey but ended up with Cowboy. Ironically, they both passed the same way.

Had me a barefoot MULE named Tobey 35 years ago that I Bear and cat hunted off. he was only afraid of paint lines on blacktop and back packers we encountered out on the trail. Crossing Running water made him a little nervous at first until we both drank out of it. I loved that Mule way more than a lot of people. If I ever get a chance to chase cats again it will only be on a Mule. I seen a lot of hunters chasing dogs on cats on horses and at the end of a long day’s chase there off there mount walking not me and Toby I would ride him right on up to the trailer. 👊👍😎

She is looky/alert, maybe she wasn't rode as much as they said, but it may save your life one day. She knows she's in New territory, too. She's hooked on to you because she is trusting you. See how her mane lays before you roach it. I always roached my 2 mares' , I left their forelock longish and the mane on their withers long so that the saddle pad or blanket wouldn't be pushing in on stiff hairs but so the hair'd be laying down under it--but in between, roached . Also, I used to think about leading or riding across I-10 but I opted to go under an overpass. Thank God, I never went OVER because one day, I tied her to a tree limb by her reins (I didn't have a halter and lead rope on her) and went into a Jack in the Box with my daughter. Well, she managed to slip her head out and ran towards home under the overpass where a guy jumped out of his car and caught her. Coulda' been a disaster had she run across. Thank you, Lord for helping a dummy.

That was enjoyable. Some may think it was boring but it was great seeing Bonnie and her reactions. I was hoping you would have had your dad on video at the end. I havent seen him in about 30 years when he had that yard on El Pueblo.
