This was the last time that Ohio State lost the rose Bowl. It was a great game today, with Ohio State beating Utah, and I am typing this on the first day of the year in 2022. :) Ohio State has now won the rose Bowl the last four times they have played in it.

Dick Enberg was such a professional. I’ve heard him do just about every sport there is but I think football was his best.

Yeah buddy I remember when he played in the NFL for the eagles and the dolphins man when he run that damn ball against the cowboys I said this guy is pretty special. He was playing for he was playing for the dolphins at the time I think it was 96. Keith was a special football player. For the buckeyes he is so I would say he's one of the top five back so I'll say it ever had.

Even though this was a loss, I want these games back. USC, Notre Dame, Penn State, Texas....they need to step up. It is better for college football when these teams are good.

If you are from Redondo Do you remember Scott Davison?A little past the years you are talking about but he was a pitcher/shortstop who played at Redondo in 1986-1988 he was a three time CIF player of the year (I think he was the first and only sophomore to win that award )maybe Scott McGregor from El Segundo did also but anyways he never got past double a we all thought he would be all star My senior year(went to South Torrance)Redondo was ranked Top 5 nationally and second in the state in baseball we smoked them in football and soccer but they were extremely good in baseball they ended up like 32-2 and got upset in playoffs but being from there I just wonder if you remember that

My dad worked with Scott McGregor dad in El Segundo at Lerner Oil/World Oil. 1972 or 1973. My dad took us to Scott’s CIF games at El Segundo. He was all world. He had a long pro career with the Baltimore Orioles. (Lefty) I was like 10 or 11. He signed I think with KC for 100k out of High School. Top 5 pitcher in the Country. Also, I went to jr high school with Tim Green at USC. Same time frame 1972/1973. Played PU football with him. Dude threw it hard. I lived in Redondo Beach in the early 1970’s and that is when this all went down. Tim Green went on to date my first GF at Aviation HS in Manhattan Beach. Not gonna out her all the way but her name is Maria G. These are some wild memories. Edit..Looked at some google. His dad worked at Computax with my dad. Both were accountants. Scott was a senior and threw like 2 no no’s in a row. I was at one of them. He signed with NY Yankees but played with George Brett who was the KC Royals pick. Both were on the same team in High School. Edit no 2. Tim Green did go to El Camino JC in El Segundo in 1982/1983. I moved away but heard this and then the dude is the starter at USC in 1/1/1985. Rosebowl Winner too. Amazing.

It was weird listening to Dick Enberg call the rose bowl and not Curt Gowdy calling it and then in the later years it was Brent Musberger calling it for ABC and I am not sure who calls it these days.

I feel like they should've ran the ball at least once with Byers in that last set, they were within 5-10 yds of long FG range to at least tie the game.

@@bbigjohnson069 That's mainly because Big 10 teams were always over rated in the early '80s. Remember the Rose Bowl the year before? Many were saying that undefeated Illinois was the best in the country at the end of the year and they got destroyed in the Rose Bowl by a UCLA team that had four losses and lost most of their talent from the year before. The truth was the Big 10 was just really weak that year and Illinois didn't play anyone that good. The Big 10 didn't become strong again until the late '80s.
